Seeing no issue here Barnabus turns from Trex and pulls the other three party members in for an aside.
"Aye, as long as they're doing fine we can worry 'bout the bag and the yeti later. Besides I think I'm starting to put some pieces together. Aye, I've not quite got the whole thing yet but I'm close. Aye, Let's handle this sea monster so we can get to Caer Konig. Who ever wants the Chardlyn will be there. Aye, they've got some answers to be sharin' for sure."
The docks are in good working order. A worker there is happy to rent out a boat for a silver per day.
It takes about 1.5 hours to row out to the middle of the lake. You find yourselves waiting there for a while, minds playing tricks on you as you swear the creature comes into view several times.
After a tense wait, a wave rocks your boat, and an eye familiar to three of you peaks out of the water. Slowly, the plesiosaur’s head rises from the waters to look at you all. Its raspy voice greets you.
”You’ve returned. And a day early. Were you successful?”
Senushi backs up in the small boat in surprise and a bit of fear " What is that! Are the severed heads for this creature's meal?" He quickly tosses the sack of heads open for the creature to see.
The beast lowers its head uncomfortably close to you as it studies the heads carefully. Its reptilian eye scans the faces of both carefully. After an excruciating wait, it pulls back and lets out a heavy breath, which mists over you in the cold.
“One of these is correct. I never knew there was two of him.
Thank you… my friends. You’ve freed me from my task. Bremen’s boats may sail this lake without fear of retaliation. I will allow them.
I know not what beasts live on land, but you may find others like me, burdened with attacking the towns. They will probably be happy to hear of Ravisin’s death too.
In spite of them, I ask that you give these whatever death rites are proper for land dwellers. I still owe them for this life, and that feels right.”
It begins to recede back into the water. “And though you don’t look like a group who enjoys the water, remember you have a friend out here.”
Though it will wait if anyone wishes to speak with it further, the lake monster prepares to swim back into the murky depths.
Barnabus raises a hand in a salute of respect for the sea monster before turning to explain to Senushi.
"Aye thought it easier for you to see it than to explain it."
Before Morkeleb does anything to the heads Barabus urges him to keep them.
"Aye, ol' Scales there might have a point. The Stagg was out for blood but the yeti might listen. That is if'n it wasn't a magical tampering that only made the kolbolds belie e there was one. Could have been safe the whole time. My point is, might be showin' the head is the quickest way to end a fight. "
Senushi does as he asked but is more focused on the sea creature. "Is this typical for all of you to traffic in body parts and offering them up to monsters?"
Morkeleb shrugs and says, "Honestly, it's all pretty new, but we've done a pretty good job of taking it in stride. I've a feeling this isn't the worst we'll see before the end of our journeys." He brightens then, grinning a toothy reptilian grin that is meant to be reassuring and pleasant, and adds enthusiastically,
"But don't you worry, just stick with me, and I'll see us through any hardship, any trial! I swear it!"
A few hours later, the group arrives in Bremen, pulling up to the frozen section of lake that serves as the docks. A few others are coming in at this time and pay you no mind, but the dwarven dockmaster who saw you off almost a week ago double takes as his eyes bug out of his skull momentarily.
“Aye? We thought you lads were dead! Have you been out there for a week? Where are the fish you were catching? Is that a different boat than you left in? Where’s my boat?”
Morkeleb strikes a heroic pose on the docks, puffing out his chest, broadening his shoulders, holding head high, and announces,
"We have a mighty tale of heroic deeds that will no doubt astound you. But the short answer is that the lake is now safe for fishing. The town is saved! Morkeleb of the Vexashene dragons has brought you this salvation!"
"That's all well and good man, but where's my boat?" the dwarf complains. "Something wild happened since you were gone for a week. Do we need to call people for this? Don't tell me that crazy lass was right about something in the lake? Guardsman, what is he going on about?"
“I have good news and bad news about your boat. The bad news is that your old boat was destroyed. It served us well as we battled the sea monster, and held together long enough to deliver us to Lonelywood. A great vessel it was, to be sure. But now it is no more.
“The good news is that you can have this one as a replacement! See what fine condition it is in! I do believe you are coming out ahead on this, so congratulations!
“As for the sea monster, we have made friends with it, and the town of Bremen should be safe for fishing now, as I said.”
Jar will say "If you think we made friends with the foul unholy creature you are mistaken. First we crossed swords... flippers... you get it. With that creature. We took care of what was driving the thing to attack and we made a so called peace with it."

Morkeleb nods along in agreement.
”You’re right, Barnabus, of course I knew that was exactly what we should do, but it’s good to hear you say it.”
Waving good bye to Trex, Barnabus leads the rest off to procure a boat.

Morkeleb shrugs. "Alright, have it your way. I was going to chuck them into the water."
Jar says "I agree with you (Barnabus). I think we should hang on to it a little longer."

He puts his back onto the oars attempting to get them to shore as quickly as possible.

The last part is addressed to Barnabus.

Make a Persuasion Check on this. For both the boat and the idea that you casually made friends with a sea monster.
