Albert snags Dana's flowing robes. "Release me at once! You don't understand!" In spite of Albert's drunken clumsiness, he manages to hang on to Dana's garments, frustrating her and making her shriek in outrage!
Sera sees the chaos unfolding, with too many things happening at once. Dana, who was on the verge of slitting her own throat, now has Albert clinging to her skirt. She's utterly furious and borderline insane. In her anger, she might just burn Albert's beard off with Sacred Flame. A shame, really, because he has a fine beard.
Sera has to make a choice. The barbarian's weapon is cursed, and perhaps that's what’s driving him mad. But the thought of being left helpless and trapped is even worse. She takes a few quick steps toward the cage holding the mysterious stranger, who is futilely trying to break the hinges with small stones. A nearly hopeless task.
Nearby, the druid is attempting to burn through the metal cage, but it’s not going well either. Guards and a strange tiefling surround the barbarian, hacking at him while he roars in rage. Sera knows she should help overcome the cursed barbarian but first, she needs to free the prisoner.
She pulls out a crowbar, slamming it hard into the crack around the hinges, and leans in with all her strength. The metal groans and bends slightly. Hopefully, the door can now be kicked open. Gritting her teeth and with tense muscles, she snarls, "Give it a good kick now—but if you’re a bad guy, I’m going to be really pissed."
With a mighty heave, Sera lifts the hinge enough to reveal a weakness on the cage door!
Aided with the Help action, Hastos has Advantage to attack the cage door. AC 19, HP 5
Suggested Feats that can be borrowed (for one time use as per House Rule) with a successful skill check: Savage Attacker (Athletics Check DC 5), Tavern Brawler (Athletics Check DC 7) Or you may make an Athletics Check (with Advantage) using both legs at the same time to push the gate all the way off the hinges. Add your STR bonus again to the roll (so that's a +6). DC 19 to hoist the gate this way.
Amelista looks visibly concerned about the chaos unfolding in the chamber. "I'll go get more help!" With that, she flees out the trap door and into the night.
Round 2: Cheez_Weezle, Theron is up Conditions: Prone, Raging (Round 2 of 10) The Disadvantages you get from being prone cancels out the Advantages you get from being enraged. You need to roll a DEX Save (DC 11) to reduce the damage from Hellish Rebuke by half.
Those with proficiency in Medicine are allowed to roll Medicine checks on their turn to determine the remaining HP of those they can see. There is no DC. The higher the roll, the more detailed and accurate the results.
((DM, I want to make sure we are in agreement with the rules. I will act as I understand them and will document my perspective as best as I can. By all means, rule against my results if this is not how you see it))
First, Theron will deal with Hellish rebuke. I rolled a DEXTERITY SAVE of (6,16) +2 for an 18 with ADVANTAGE due to Danger Sense (PHB, pg. 48). You have advantage on DEX saving throws against effects that you can see while not blinded, deafened, or incapacitated. So I save vs. Hellish Rebuke and would normally take 4 points of damage from the spell. However, Theron has Totem Spirit (PHB) You have adopted a totem spirit. Bear While raging, you have resistance to all damage except psychic damage, so my damage is further reduced to 2 points. By my calculations, I am at 27/32.
Next, I spend 15 movement points to stand up and remove my PRONE position.
I will attack Ebrius again with my Scythe. I rolled an 8 (+8) for a 16 TO HIT. I rolled a 5 (+6) (+2 Raging damage) for 13 points of damage.
Hastos is barely keeping track of the mayhem unfolding in from of him, intent on getting free of his cage. Hastos begins to raise his foot to kick at what only loosely could be referred to as a weak spot, only to realize his feet are missing boots! He shoots Dana an angry glance and shouts “Honestly woman, my boots?”
He repositions and raises the beleaguered scrap of stone and brings it down hard on the gate. “Break, damned you!”
To Hit: 14 + 4 =18
The clanging reverberates again through the chamber.
Theron's scythe rips into Ebrius's flesh with devastating effect. A shower of blood coats both combatants as pain explodes in Ebrius's body!
No Medicine Check required, Ebrius appears to be very close to 0 HP.
Hastos, dejected, curses at the hinge on the gate, unable to detect in the candlelight the crack that has formed. He's warped the metal of the hinge enough that the gate has slipped loose of its hinge. With a loud clang! the corner of the gate that lost its support pounds into the ground below. Destabilized, the heavy metal door begins to creak and sag, leaning precariously towards Sera.
Larskolstad please roll a DEX Save (DC 5) to avoid the gate as it falls, or an Athletics Check (DC 8) to guide it to the ground safely.
MrUncleTio Hastos is now free to move about the dungeon.
Hearing Albert's instructions, Guard Green looks at Theron positively butchering their only witness to the crime, then back at the wizened cleric clutching the hem of an infuriated (yet beloved) resident of Santekh, and makes a fast decision. He hands Ebrius a potion and yells "Drink!" then jabs at Theron's face, hoping to blind the wild warrior. The spear jabs into Theron's eye, ruining the eye socket and tearing the flesh on the bridge of his nose!
thomasgerardbradshawEbrius receives one Potion of Healing (Common) Guard Green Attacks with Advantage from Flanking, and with Emphasis for Blind Condition: 17 (hits), Theron is Blinded. The effect can be restored with any magical or nonmagical healing that restores at least 1 HP (not counting Temp HP) Damage (2 Handed): 8 Piercing (Before DR)
Dana screams in fury at Albert, but is unwilling to harm a town hero. "Let go of my dress!!!" She swats at his clutching hand and tries to yank the fabric loose. "RRRRRAAAA!!!!! You don't understand!!" She breaks loose from the tenuous grasp as fabric rips, leaving Albert holding a tattered bit of soft and clean, but freshly wrinkled, silk. Free of Albert's grip, but seeing no route to escape, she resigns herself. She plunges her fist into the dying form on the altar. A breathless scream escapes his lips. With her other hand, she pulls a small vial of water from her pouch, wrenches the cork loose with her teeth, and places the water droplets onto her tongue reverently. Then, holding her red-stained fist high into the air, she calls cries out, "Tiichir di Sargonnas!"
Dana Rolls Althletics check to free herself from her Grapple: 17 (succeeds) Dana casts Bless on Guard Red, Guard Green, and Ebrius
Arvos switches focus from the cage the madman wielding the scythe. He curses that he lacks the magic to cast anything except for cantrips. He takes out his shield and and unsheathe his scimitar and attacks Theron - Non-Lethal Attack. In hopes of saving Ebrius.
The gate creaks and snaps free of its last hinge, crashing over Sera and knocking her to the ground!
Sera Uth Darnon is Prone and Restrained. Restrained condition will be removed when the gate is pulled off of her or she crawls (through difficult terrain) to get out from under the gate.
Arvos Quain swipes his scimitar in a downward arc against Theron, but the enraged barbarian is too swift! He swings his scythe around in a graceful arc, batting the scimitar aside harmlessly.
Rolling again for Arvos to compensate for Advantage. Attack: 10 (Misses)
Eager to tame Theron, Guard Red reverses his spear and attempts to bash Theron on the head with the butt of it to stun him.
Rolling Attack with Emphasis and Advantage: 17 (Hits) Damage: 8 Piercing (Before DR) Theron may be Stunned for 1 Round (CON Save DC 8 to avoid being Stunned).
Albert continues to try and subdue Dana. As she did not run away and is grappled, Albert will try to knock her prone and pull to the ground while still maintaining grapple.
"Oof!" Dana huffs as the air explodes from her lungs. Albert slams into her, launching her to the ground. Her eyes dart towards the escaped prisoner, and then to one of her candles. It's shaped like a dagger with a short handle and a long "blade". At the tip of the blade is a wick.
Dana takes 1 HP of Bludgeoning Damage and has been knocked Prone.
The gate crashed down, slamming Sera to the ground and pinning her beneath its weight. She gritted her teeth, muttering a string of colorful Solamnic curses as she struggled to wriggle free. With a determined push, she managed to crawl out, her armor scuffed and pride bruised, before rising unsteadily to her feet.( Move 1 square up and flank Dana. Rise up)
Around her, chaos reigned. The barbarian—seemingly possessed by pure fury—was carving through his opponents like a storm of steel, barely fazed by their attacks. Sera’s sharp eyes caught the wounded tiefling, staggering and bleeding across the room.
Without hesitation, she extended a hand, feeling the familiar warmth of Paladine’s power flow through her. “Heal,” she said simply, her voice steady. A soothing light rippled outward, knitting the tiefling’s wounds and easing their pain. ( healing word heals 7 hp)
Her attention shifted to Dana, lying dazed and vulnerable at her feet in the midst of the confusion. Sera gripped her longsword tightly, determination flashing in her eyes. She wasn’t about to let things spiral further. With a calculated strike, she brought the flat of her blade down toward Dana, aiming to knock her out cold—clean, quick, and non-lethal. ( strike with advantage. Best us ac 12 and 5 dam if that hit)
Ebrius feels life surge back into her as her wounds magically seal themselves. She still looks worse for the wear, but seems to be more steady on her feat.
I moved your character Left 1, Up 1 (as a Disengage Action) to reflect the spirit of your description Sera restores 7 HP to Ebrius. Ebrius is still Bloodied.
Prannnggg! The flat of Sera Uth Darnon's slaps across Dana's temples! Her eyes dilate and she mumbles incoherently.
Above you in the candle shop, you can hear the stomping of more boots, followed by Amelista's voice as she barks out orders. "They're down there! The Golden Company is fighting the cultist and the murderer now! Take Dana alive for questioning!" The trap door flies open and two more guards filter through the entrance, with Amelista following close behind. She scans the room and surveys the progress. "Should... should I get more guards?! I could try to get Kaylan, but it may take me a while."
Guard Blue and Guard Pink Move Twice to enter the dungeon and go down the stairs. Amelista ends her turn at the entrance.
Hastos looks astonished as he watches the woman pull herself from under the heavy gate. He tosses the bit of stone against the wall behind him then carefully exits the cage, watching warily at the barbarian slashing recklessly at the air around him.
He walks around and starts gathering up his belongs that have been scattered across the floor.Avoiding the shield and sword which he steps over as he begins to pick up his belongings.
He nods at the woman who just freed him from his cage. “Thanks for helping me get out of there. I am Hastos. You injured?
Guard Green scurries around Theron, dodging and ducking to avoid his wild swings. He positions himself beside Arvos and lunges at Theron with all his might. "HAAAH!!!" He barks at he throws his whole weight into the attack!
Guard GreenMoves to the right 2 spaces (1 space is difficult terrain) for 15' of movement. Guard Green Attacks Theron two handed with Advantage: 15 (Hits) Damage against Theron: 4 (Piercing)
Dana's eyes seem unfocused as she points at Sera accusingly, "Whuzzafug'n try... hugunna killasall..." Dana continues shaking her head to try to focus her thoughts.
Dana is Stunned until the beginning of her next turn. Dana is still Prone.
Arvos's scimitar slaps against Theron's shoulders, stinging him and leaving an angry red welt that is sure to bruise up later.
Guard Red takes a wide, stable stance, crouching low, and like baling hay, he drives the spear out and upward. It scrapes a searing scarlet line across Theron's chest.
Guard Red Attacks Theron With a Spear (with both hands) with Advantage: 18 (Hits) Guard Red's Damage: 7 (Piercing)
Theron is now bleeding from several wounds, and looking worse for the wear, but doesn't seem to be slowing his relentless assault!
Albert hastily responds to the guard: "Sieze Dana and take the brute alive. That scythe is evil, that's not his fault"
After that Albert moves to Dana and tries to grapple her behind his staff.
Athletics check with disadvantage from being drunk - 3.
In reaction to being attacked I cast "Hellish Rebuke" at Theron!
(Theron must make a saving throw)
I then use my crimson Rite dealing 1 damage to myself "Aggh! Damn you!"
I then use my Great Axe and swing at Theron! I hit with a 14! "THIS WILL BE THE LAST PLACE YOU STAND!!" I dealt 5 damage plus 1 fire damage.
Albert snags Dana's flowing robes. "Release me at once! You don't understand!" In spite of Albert's drunken clumsiness, he manages to hang on to Dana's garments, frustrating her and making her shriek in outrage!
Athletics Check vs DC 3 = 2. Dana is Grappled.
Ebrius's greataxe chops at Theron's thickly muscled arm, sending searing heat into his blood vessels!
Theron's DR reduces the damage to 2+1 (from Fire) = 3
Hellish Rebuke Deals 9 Damage (DEX Save 11 to reduce to 4)
