Yakeerk follows Yga, an arrow drawn and nocked and looks for targets over Yga's head as the gnome cleric reaches the secret door.
The open secret door reveals a clutter of broken glass and earthenware piled on the floor beyond. Three small copper pots lie amid the debris. A bench runs down the west wall of what seems to be a laboratory. On the bench are jars of powders and liquids and several pieces of chemical apparatus. There is a table against the south wall, forming an L-shape with the bench. A book is open on the table. Also on the table is a candlestick, with a tiny stump of unlit candle still in it, and a variety of other items that, even in the dim light, shine with the warmth of gold. One of these objects looks like a human skull.
The Book: It looks like before the alchemist died (or maybe before he died a second time), he was reading the book that lies open on the table. Its title is Ye Secret of Ye Philosopher’s Stone, no author acknowledged. Yga estimates the book would be worth 50 gp to the right buyer. Maybe it's time to get a stall on market day!
Though it is written in Common, the book is too profound and recondite a work to be fully understood by anyone other than an alchemist.
Golden Objects. The objects on the table are made of pure gold The collection includes the following items:
A human skull (200 gp)
An apple (50 gp)
A rose (50 gp)
A set of five small discs (balance weights, 5 gp each)
Treasure. The table holds small stacks of gold coins totaling 47 gp.
Whilst the room behind the secret door is being checked by Yga and Yakeerk, Susk will check over the preceding room, searching the skeletons remains, starting with the spell caster.
Whilst the room behind the secret door is being checked by Yga and Yakeerk, Susk will check over the preceding room, searching the skeletons remains, starting with the spell caster.
Susk looks at the armoured skeletons and what catches his eye is that each skeleton has one rib dipped in gold. The rib can be snapped off easily (5gp value per gold rib, and there are six skeletons). The spellcaster skeleton has a pouch with a strange stone inside, and a very well made larger but empty bag at his waist. The empty bag seems to weigh disproportionately heavier than you would expect an empty bag to be. You wonder what kind of leather it is made from to weigh so much.
Yga will have a look at the concealed drawer - if it looks like it is sloppily concealed will open it, but if it has been well / professionally concealed then she will call out to Susk for his input.
Susk will collect the ribs in the pile and examine the bag further, turning it inside out to see if there is another a hidden pouch or pocket in there.
When Susk puts his hand in the bag to feel for a pocket, he finds that the space inside is much bigger than the outside. He puts his entire arm into the back. Definitely magic at work here.
"That's a good trick," says Yakeerk, watching from the doorway where he is keeping an eye on Yga as well.
Irob will look to the party and explain the uses of the items.
"Does anyone wish to take either, I wouldn't mind carrying the bag of holding but I do not wish to withold it from anyone. As for the stone it would be better in hands other than mine"
The draw is under the desk, it would easily evade the casual check, you have to bend down to see it. Yga saw it because it was easy for her to bend slightly. It looks like it is made of the same strong wood as the desk. It seems to have a lock built in.
Irob, taking the bag of holding and intending to discover what a skeleton may be carrying at his hip will turn it inside out directing the opening towards a large open space to see what falls out.

The gold-dipped ribs that Susk already put the in the bag come spilling out. Nothing else other than a bit of dust. Whatever the skeleton spellcaster was using it to carry is long gone.
Susk detects no traps, and while it has a lock, a quick scan around finds the key on a shelf. Susk inserts the key and opens the draw. It is a bit stiff, but it ends up sliding open.
Inside is an old, dusty spellbook with a golden clasp.

Yga will cautiously progress to the table and take a closer look, being on alert for any potential undead creatures arising.

Golden Objects. The objects on the table are made of pure gold The collection includes the following items:
Treasure. The table holds small stacks of gold coins totaling 47 gp.
Yga notices a concealed drawer under the table.
The strange stone is a polished agate with tiny runes inscribed on it.
Yga will have a look at the concealed drawer - if it looks like it is sloppily concealed will open it, but if it has been well / professionally concealed then she will call out to Susk for his input.
It's not a sloppy job, the desk is old but solid.
Irob will approach Susk and inquire about the items found, attempting to identify them.
Arcana check: 17
Irob thinks the bag is a bag of holding, an uncommon item, but a valuable one. It does not require attunement.
The inscribed agate, Irob thinks is a Stone of Good Luck (Luckstone), which is also an uncommon item, but does require attunement.
Irob will look to the party and explain the uses of the items.
"Does anyone wish to take either, I wouldn't mind carrying the bag of holding but I do not wish to withold it from anyone. As for the stone it would be better in hands other than mine"
Yakeerk isn't really interested in the items. "If we find an enchanted bow, then I would be more interested."
Susk will put all the rib pieces in the new bag and head into look at the desk where Yga has found the concealed draw.
"I have left the stone out there if someone wants to grab it, otherwise I am happy to take it"
The draw is under the desk, it would easily evade the casual check, you have to bend down to see it. Yga saw it because it was easy for her to bend slightly. It looks like it is made of the same strong wood as the desk. It seems to have a lock built in.

The gold-dipped ribs that Susk already put the in the bag come spilling out. Nothing else other than a bit of dust. Whatever the skeleton spellcaster was using it to carry is long gone.
Susk will carefully inspect the draw for possible traps before attempting to open it.
