Yga will shift her focus to the lantern and the small wooden box. Lighting the lantern to increase the visibility in the room (assuming that it looks recently/well used - if not she will not light it). If unable to light the lantern she will use her Light cantrip to improve visibility. Will next check the small wooden box. Perception: 13
The lantern is set up to shine a light only in one direction (like a modern torch). When combined with this movable shutter, such lanterns are often used for signalling distant allies at night. Both Rask and Yakeerk are familiar with such devices used this way.
Yga looks at the small box but has no concerns about traps or anything to be worried about. It has a simple hinge lid.
With the bed being the last item to check out, Susk will walk ove to it and check underneath, flipping the matress up to lean against the wall so he can see the bottom of that as well.

Under the mattress, in a waterproof bag, is Sanbalet's leather bound spellbook. It has the following spells:
Yga will cautiously open the lid, facing it away from her and other party members...
Nothing sinister happens when Yga opens the lid. Inside the box are twelve candles, flint and steel, and a piece of parchment on which is written the following:
Long–short–short–short: “Is it safe?”
Short–long–short–long: “Everything safe.”
Long–long–long: “Ready to unload; come to the ship.”
Susk will pull the spellbook out of the bag and hold it aloft. "Is this what you were looking for? I am sure I can get a small profit for it if you dont want it" He says with a wink and a sly smile.
'Ahh yes that is what I was looking for! Thank you for finding it for me!' Zaerra exclaims with an excited little bounce and hand clap. She reaches for the book that Susk is holding, 'May I have a look at it please?'
Yakeerk ruffles his feathers. "I think we've seen everything here, the door in the south west of the room leads to the caves. We haven't checked out all of those yet."
The party explore the rest of the underground area. There were only two more caverns that they had not explored, unused and dusty, although one had some kind of mucus-like green slime that Susk was able to sidestep when it dropped from the roof.
Everything that needed to be explored had been, and so the party returned to Saltmarsh. Once again, the gate guards wanted to charge non-citizens an entry fee, but Yakeerk's influence and a copy of the mission contract helped.
Saltmarsh is busy as usual. The shouts and noise from the docks area is loudest. Town Guards walk around in pairs, wearing studded leather and holding clubs. They seem relaxed, but eye the party curiously as they pass.
Where would you like to go? Some options might be:
Report back to Kate, the Town Council Clerk that the mission is complete and collect reward.
You will be meeting with Manaya later at the Snapping Line who has some information about the symbols you have gathered (from the cultists and from the body on the beach).
Irob after collecting the loot within the bag of holding will begin to spread it equally amongst the party.
He will hand each party member the equivalent of 9gp, 24sp and 149cp.
Additionally he makes it known that there is approximately 355gp worth of valuables and 200gp worth of books provided the right buyer can be found.
"That is everything we found on our recent venture into makaster house. There are some coins that would be difficult to split equally" *he holds out his hand to show 2gp and 2cp in his palm* "I suggest we incorporate these into a communal fund for revelry. For now I believe we have a reward to claim?"
Susk nods his thanks for the coin, quickly stowing it away. "I agree, we head to the clerk to finalise the contract and then maybe head to the inn, unless anybody want to have a wander around town? Maybe see if we can find anyone that may be interested in our goods?"
"The inn sounds like a good idea," Rask chimes in while pocketing her coins. "We can rest and perhaps gather information about where best to sell our wares."
The party also gets 200xp for completing the clearing of Makaster House.
It starts raining again from the grey skies as the party make their way to the Town Council Building. Inside the Town Council Clerk, Kate Lapsia, is walking, reading a tome at the same time and looks up to see you.
Yakeerk explains that Makaster House has been cleared and presents the stamped note. Kate nods and explains that the Town Guard will be sent, probably tomorrow, to inspect the house and verify. She will pay you on completion of the Town Guards' report, probably by the end of tomorrow. She makes a note of where you are staying.
In addition Kate advises that you or your representative are required to present to the Town Council meeting at midday tomorrow, Waterday, 4th day of Deepspring where a plan moving forward after the smugglers at Makaster House were discovered.
Yakeerk says unless you all want to go, he is happy to represent the party at the meeting and answer any questions they have. He also asks you all for permission to accept or reject any further missions the Town Council wishes to ask of Amici Noctia.
Yga carefully secretes her coins and will make a 5gp donation at the Temple of Kord to go towards the orphanage of bar room brawls. She will also surreptitiously check at the city watch to see if those pirates are still being held in custody, or if they have managed to "escape". Other than that she will follow the party to the next adventure.

"Of course, I would not keep such an important item from you" Susk say as he hands the book to Zaerra.
"If there is nothing else in here then I suggest we head back and check that last door"
