Erudisiapants and catches her breath., not looking at the grizzly sight she has created. She meets Meredith's eye and nods, before outlining what she knows about Slaad Tadpoles.
"Time's wasting," she says quietly. "We still have more books to find."
Rogi has been checking his right arm and replies to Meredith with a grunt. “I’m fine.” But you notice him grimacing as he walks and his eyes bug out whenever he must move that arm. (He’s down to 1/2 hp.)
Only one door remains unopened in the cellar. The one centered in the hallway you traversed to reach the little unnatural history museum. In fact, Meredith is now standing directly before that door. According to the homunculi, there is also one more Joy of Extradimensional Spaces book to be found in the cellar.

Bellnotices Rogi's discomfort. Knowing she has no major spells or even a healing kit, she wants to 'do' something to help.
Bending down, she rips the hem of her petticoat to get a long, semi clean length of cloth. Touching Rogi's wounded arm, she will mutter "Fix this mess" - using Prestidigitation in the hope it can 'clean' the bite/wound.
She will then wrap the bit of linen around his arm and again use 'Pres' to chill the binding in the hopes it mitigates the pain a little.
"We really need to learn how to heal people," Bell tsks as she nods and turns to the open door.
Rogi grunts as the makeshift bandage is tightened and winces at the cold. He darts a skeptical glance at Bell. But when she is done, he tries moving his arm, and it seems that the discomfort has indeed been mitigated. His green-flecked gray eyes soften as he acknowledges, softly, “Thanks. That… helps. Mental note: not all wizards suck. But I guess I already knew that.” A lopsided smile flickers. But it disappears when Meredith opens the door. The artificer readies his shield.

When Meredith opens the door, a subtle odor of charcoal and sulfur drifts out. It is dark in this smallish chamber, which measures some 15 feet wide by 20 feet long. The door is in the center of one of the narrower walls.
We’ll assume that when Bell moves to the door, she brings magical light with her. A slice of illumination cuts through the darkness, revealing a five-foot-diameter circle of intricate runes on the floor in the room’s center. There’s a wooden bookstand facing the door from behind the circle. To see more will require moving the light source inside.
"Wait," Rogi says. "Did you hear something?" Meredith did not. Others, please roll perception.
You heard the slightest hissing sound. You look at Rogi. He can tell by your expression that you heard the same thing he did. Not only that, but from where you are at the doorway, looking over Meredith's shoulder, you notice, instantly, several more things.
First, the bookshelf is empty.
Second, in addition to the bookshelf, there are only a few more items in the room: three small bronze braziers at three cardinal points surrounding what you recognize as a summoning circle. The kind used to summon an imp or a quasit. You are familiar with the summons for both creatures, I’m going to say, due to your crit.
Finally, you notice a seemingly unused lantern hook on the ceiling above the bookshelf. But though no lantern hangs from it, you notice movement there. A shimmering motion as if something reptilian and malign was suspended from the hook upside down by its tail, then… not there. An evil quasit, turned invisible! Bell comprehends all of this in a mere second or two.
(We are holding for Bell's response.)

Bell takes in the room and whispers to Meredith and Rogi, "Step back out of the room. We are not alone."
She will hold position with her Light blazing until all are out of the room and they can shut the door.
Rogi nods, moving to the side to allow Meredith to step back, keeping his shield raised.
You all hear a sudden scrabbling noise like thin claws against the flagstone floor in the chamber rushing toward the door, but see nothing. Meredith and Erudisia may act.

Meredith reached out and pressed against the door with her hands, levering Bells back off of the door.......she wasn't sure how sharp Imp tails were but the last thing she wanted was Bell getting stung in her organs through the wood.....
" So........how do we.......um...get the book? Or do we write this one off and try elsewhere?"
"We are risking our lives against deadly creatures down here. No one's life is worth another book down here. Best we move back upstairs and see if our word guesses are correct. Time for Matreus is running out and we really really need to rest beyond a cuppa and biscuits if we DO decide to face off against these things -- or worse to come."
One look and anyone can see how 'perky, inquistive' Bell has been weighed down by these encounters. A closer look and one might see the sadness in her eyes for what has befallen them and this fine mansion.
Erudisiafollows. There is always the sword room, and perhaps there is some clue, something that ties in to the books near the magical door that they missed previously.
Meredith turns to the other three a little ashamed, " Thankyou very much."
Erudisia pants and catches her breath., not looking at the grizzly sight she has created. She meets Meredith's eye and nods, before outlining what she knows about Slaad Tadpoles.
"Time's wasting," she says quietly. "We still have more books to find."
Meredith looked a little worriedly towards Rogi, " So there won't be any ill effects from the bite?"
She then followed Erudisia.

Meredith immediately obeys Bell, " Yes, Ma'am."
She backs carefully out of the room....
Does anyone close the door?

As soon as everyone is out of the room, Bell will slam shut the door and lean with her back against it; looking as pale as a sunbleached linen sheet.
(( like her minimal mass would stop a puppy from nudging the door open a crack... :p ))
"There was 'something' in that room! I think it was another one of those imp things that poisoned Matreus."
Her eyes are round saucers from behind her glasses. "WHY would someone leave such deadly things in a room for someone to stumble upon?"
Moments pass and Bell's face starts gaining color back and her breathing is almost normal.
"I mean, I suppose one of you could summon it as a familiar? Really, I haven't studied that yet so, I am not sure how that would work..."
(( She nervous rambles when she is flustered... ))
Meredith reached out and pressed against the door with her hands, levering Bells back off of the door.......she wasn't sure how sharp Imp tails were but the last thing she wanted was Bell getting stung in her organs through the wood.....
