Faen looks in admiration at Kirinar as Kirinar seems to know and be on friendly terms with the majority of the town. “So exactly how many people do you not know here?”
On his way to find the tavern Allendale wanders into a general store. He is well met by the owner. He see's nothing of real value and decides to pay for the items he had his mind set on. He buys Insect Repellent Salve *5, Bag of 1000 Ball Bearings *1, Regular Flask *1, Oil Flask *1 for 6 Gold 1 Silver and 2 Copper
As for your regular shopping. You can just buy what you want, make a post saying what you bought and how much you spent. Add it to your sheets and subtract the cash. Prices are standard PHB prices. If you wish to look for something different then rp it out. But Mire's Edge does not have any shops that sell magical items but standard items are aplenty.
The young human smiles at his new elf colleague and says, "I'm not sure I could know how many people I don't know...I'm sure there are still some important people for my life that I haven't met yet. I hope so, anyways, or I'm doomed to living alone for the rest of my days. That's not something I want to happen, so I need to meet at least one more girl!!"
Once everyone has their gear, Kirinar offers to lead them to the edge of the swamp where they can start looking for signs of the kobold raiders.
When all are ready to go post that you have finished your shopping and meet Kirinar. Make sure character sheets are updated with what you bought and proper costs have been removed from your sheets.
With gear purchased and all seemed to be made ready the group gathers the following morning to begin the search. Kirinar's knowledge of the city allows the group to easily find the paths into swamp. You venture in travelling deeper into the swamp.
A few hours later the sound of insects surrounds you on all sides, a pervasive humidity clinging in an uncomfortable layer to any exposed skin. Stagnant water pools around stilt-like mangrove roots, and the occasional splash and lazy, expanding ripple reminds you that there is life of all kinds all around you, some more friendly than others. Areas of solid ground are few and far between, making travel slow going, but with plenty of daylight left streaming down through the dense canopy of trees you are able to make a meandering path through the swamp. The deeper you advance the more you catch glimpses of ancient pieces of stonework, weed-choked and jutting above the still waters. This place was once home to more than frogs and crocodiles, but the nature of the original craftspeople can’t be determined from the odd jumbles of masonry.
Kirinar happily accepts the repellant, as his armor and shield are obviously heavy and hot in the humid air. "Gods, I hate the swamp..." he mutters.
As they get further in, the young fighter will keep an eye out for tracks of any kind, hoping he can tell the difference between lizardfolk and kobold footprints. He keeps his crossbow loaded and in his hands, with his shield slung on his back and his martial weapons hooked to his belt.
As you stop and take a break a musical chirping sound, quite unlike any bird you’ve ever heard, prefaces the appearance of a pair of creatures covered in dark orange feathers splashed with tiger-like black bands. About the size of a large dog, the pair turn their narrow snouts in your direction, their bright eyes fixing on you as they chirp again, flashing sharp teeth. From the foliage behind them steps a taller creature, covered from nose to tail tip in mottled, dark brown scales, a bright blue crest flashing in the dappled light. With a snarling hiss the lizardfolk takes an aggressive stance, its two pets darting forward.

Ransyl | Hill Dwarf | Fighter
Ransyl prepares himself for these creatures revealing the great axe that has been strapped to his back until now. As his axe finds its home in his sturdy hands, he swings it in a large motion - the sound of it cutting through the air making an almost organic ring.

(OOC)Does Kirinar recognize the markings as the tribe they used to have a treaty with?
Initiative: 13
The crossbow comes up to aim at the lead velociraptor in a blink of the young fighter's eye...his battle training and reflexes taking over. "Hold on there, scout. We mean you no harm. In fact, we are hunting the kobolds who have attacked both of our tribes. Can you call your beasts back before things get out of control?" he says in common.
Initiative: 7 Allendale steps back drawing the rapier concealed under his cloak for the time being he just stands and stairs at the enemy's in front of him.
The lizardfolk, which is about 50 feet away, ignores your words and fires 2 rounds from a blowgun at Ransyl. The first round bounces harmlessly off of his armor (15) and the second misses completely (12).
The first velociraptor runs forward 30 feet and is now about 20 feet from the group.

Allendale finishes his shopping and walks into the Tavern waiting for the others to arrive.
After an engaging conversation with the herbalist, Faen makes her purchases and makes her way over to the tavern, hoping she’s not late.
With his bag packed and weapons stowed, Ransyl pays his bar tab and has his waterskin filled. Ready for the journey ahead.

“Thank you sir. I was about to start swatting these insects with my hand axes!”
“Thanks,” Faen says with a nod in Allendale’s direction. Faen is also keeping an eye out for anything unusual.
