(OOC - Vah'Lhorn isn't a fan of things that seem abhorrent to the normal mundane world. He'd rather be out killing the zombies that running away from them, and that there is someone here that may be able to cure it, but isn't is going to have Vah'Lhorn's spidey (or zombie) senses tingling with distrust)
Yuri will look at Vah'Lhorn with disbelief, Gramgran certainly can't look any worse than she already does. She can't get anymore undead.
Glancing about the room, he takes on the groups of herbs hanging from the ceiling, trying to remember which ones Reidoth used to create the potion. Realising that minutes matter at this point, Yuri decides it best to urge Vah'Lhorn forward.
"It certainly can't make the situation worse! Open the vial and pour it down her throat!"
As he speaks Yuri takes his potion of healing from his knapsack, popping the cork out of the bottle, before splashing it over Gramgran's face, trying to direct as much of it into her open mouth as he can.
"Hold her mouth open, but 'ware thise teeth!" Vah'Lhorn quips before popping the vial open and pouring the contents down the unconscious elf's throat. Turning to look ar Reidoth, Vah'Lhorn asks "So what do we expect now then?"
This spectacle takes place in the common room of this building. Kim holds Gramgran down, Yuri spreads open the mouth and Vah'Lhorn dumps some sort of mixture in. Gramgran begins to convulse as the liquid leaks down her throat. "She'll be fine,"Reidoth says while working on another couple of mixtures, not looking your way. "Give her time."The green tinge to Gramgran's skin begins to lighten into her fair elven skin color it once was. Grangram has a few more bad convulsions before she stops moving and fighting.
Yuri stands by Gramgran's side, waiting for her to stir or show other signs of life, while the colour change is welcome, every moment feels like an eternity waiting to see if the she elf will recover.
As Reidoth busies himself, Yuri focuses on their mysterious helper.
"You have our thanks for letting us into your home and for aiding our friend. What happened to this town?"
"Disaster," he says bluntly."The dead came to life after the magical devastation when Mount Hotenow erupted thirty years ago."
Gramgran coughs a few times, spitting up a green thick fluid. Reidoth looks over to see the fluid. "The infection."Gramgran's eyes begin to open as you all stand around her. Gramgran has looked better, but she is alive and coming around."She wasn't too far gone."
Sitting up slowly, Gramgran rubs her shoulder in pain and says, “What happened dearies?” Then seeing their damaged state says, “Oh no! What happened? Everyone sit down! You all look terrible!”

"Hah, old mother we had best keep you away from mirrors for a while! You had a small dose of being an undead creature set upon eating us, but the druid here was able to provide a curative to restore you." Vah'Lhorn reflects on Yuri and Reidoth's words, also trying to remember if he has heard anything about this Hotenow (History: 13). "Can those that roam not be cured, or ended by more forceful means, Reidoth?"
"The dead? No. The living? Yes. The ash fell and coated the lands and the residents. Turned them into what you see now. The bite contains an infection. If it is cured fast enough, you can reverse the effect. Much longer your friend may not have been able to have been cured. The undead can be killed, but I just try to avoid the creatures."Just then, a sound of beating is at the door."Seems you have brought them to my doorstep."
Yuri has not heard of this event, but Vah'Lhorn remembers hearing a little bit about the event. The volcano was supposed to be dormant but erupted. Ash filled the air and it rained down on the surrounding area, choking all the residents within miles. This area was on the outer limits of the fallout.
I am out of town until Wednesday. I'll update you all then!

"If the dead threaten your door Reidoth, and we have brought them to you, then we shall send them from it so then can ne'er trouble you again! Do you have another way out of here, so we need not risk their entry?" Vah'Lhorn pats the sword hanging at his side, "Though I could do with a little restoration before we sortie... The last battle took a toll, and in our rush to aid Gramgram I may have been somewhat neglegent with my own state. A short rest would do me wonders!"
Vah'Lhorn sets himself aside from the group a little, and those looking would see him go into almost a quiet meditative state. His face moving in a steady sway from from a grimace to relaxed.
((OoC - Vah'Lhorn will cast False Life on himself to give him 8 temp hp for the next hour. If the party are good for a short rest, then he'll use that roll for the temp hp before we set off. The short rest will also expend all 2 of his spell slots, which would be useful.)
"They usually wander after some time, though there is a back door. Surprised you made it this far, to be honest. It's dangerous out there. Not only the undead and living plants, but spiders lurk in the ruins at the base of the hill. There are also some folk in black masks and cloaks wandering around the east side of the town. But my real concern, a green dragon has moved into the tower north of this building. You all can rest here for the moment and be on your way. You're bound to get yourself killed if you go snooping around."
"A dragon you say?!? That is truly a fearsome danger. Tell me Reidoth, why, with all these dangers about, you persist in your habitation here? Though we are most assuredly glad that you were here to save Gramgran, it was our attempt to seek you out that put us in the most awkward predicament. Surely it would be safer to find another location from which to ply your trade?"
"Not a permanent home, but one that I frequent. The undead seem to keep raiders out of the area. The dragon has just arrived, which is very upsetting. I did not know of its arrival before arriving back here. After the ash fell, a new herb began to grow in the area. It is very rare and caries curative properties, hence my need to return here frequently."
Reidoth mixes up a few more vials with an herb concoction. After he is finished, he will give each of you a vial of a green liquid. "For your health," he says. You all have a greaterpotion of healing. (4d4+4)
"Our thanks Reidoth, this is a most useful gift. Do you know any more on these black masked persons that you speak of? We recently had a run in with a group called the Redbrands, ostensibly working for a character known as 'Black Spider'. A strange group in black masks can't be co-incidence. All that said, we came here to ask for your help in pursuing that thread, and finding a way to <<where are we going?>>, know you such a place?"
(OoC - I can't remember where we are looking for right now, will read back a little ways when I get chance.)

Yuri recalls a few of the herbs. You can give me a nature check if you’d like.

15 (Not bad considering... Although now I'm worried about urging Vah'Lhorn to our the vial down Gramgran's throat...)
Yeah, that will do. Of the herbs you do remember seeing, none were poisonous as far as you recall. One was red, one green and one blue.

Yuri feels sure this is something he has at least hard mention of. A mountain erupting isn't exactly an everyday occurrence.
"And the dead have risen ever since? Nothing returns them to their rest?"

Yuri jumps in at Vah'Lhorn's hesitation, "Cragmaw Castle. We're seeking a dwarf, stolen by goblins. Apparently he's been taken there."
Taking the potion from Reidoth, Yuri stores it carefully in his pack.
