Hearing about the roadblock Renvalm starts the grow uneasy and he prepares his great axe, ready for what ever happens next. By the description of the terrain and the knowledge of a roadblock could only mean one thing, an ambush. Concern also grew in his mind about the fact that Gundren Rockseeker and his companion went on ahead and may have run into the same situation.
"Everyone, be on alert. By the looks of things we are walking into an ambush and I'm concerned that are employer may have run into the same thing when they went ahead of us."
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
"There were some beasts on the road," he said looking between Renvalm and Morpetor, "two dead beasts, large. Big enough to block the road, I couldn't quite get a good look at what they were." The moment he had seen the dead beasts on the road along with the road cinched in by the forest the way it was, he returned immediately and mentally kicked himself for not looking through Boren's eyes further to get a better view of what was ahead. He had half a mind to try and look through his familiar's eyes again, but then he also needed to prepare himself in case things turned south.
"It could be anything ahead," he said, "but I agree. The way it was set up... it could be an ambush like Renvalm says, and even if it isn't, better we prepare ourselves, eh?"
Kim slows the wagon down to approach the next section of road cautiously. Her years in the military gave her the insight that things such as a road block don't happen by chance.
She started barking orders like it was second nature to her. "Yuri go investigate the blockade, but keep your head on a swivel. Renvalm, follow close behind him, maybe 10 feet, so if something surprises him, you have his back. Darthos, stay at the back to watch our 6. Gramgran, stay by me. I'll protect you. New guy, take the front of the wagon. No offense, but we just met you and now there is reason to suspect an ambush, so I want to keep my eyes on you. Plus, if you are here to help you keep you eyes at a 1 to 3 scan, so nothing comes from our sides. I'll take the 9 to 11." She seems so calm as she points the orders, like this is routine. There was never any harshness in her words, just confidence. She continues, "Our number one priority are the supplies. Then our healer, Gramgran, then your allies, and finally yourself!"
Kim has now fully stopped the wagon and is standing with her right foot slightly forward as to point her view in the direction she called out. Her emerald starts glowing as her breaths start slowing and gain more depth to each one. She is calming and focusing. This feeling of uncertainty was her least favorite part of her job. After all she usually does as much recon as she can. This time she would have to play by ear and hope the team worked well together. She has been in situations like this before, so she isn't going to let them down.
She smiles as everyone starts preparing. Oh, the children are working well together already. I knew Kim was dependable. Gramgran reaches behind her and pulls out her crossbow, then loads an arrow, calmly and slowly. "Don't worry about me Kim, I'm more armored than most of you, I think I'll be fine. Just worry about yourselves, and try not to get hurt dears!"
Glances up at Kimberley and nods his head, saying nothing. *That was said with authority* He shrugs his shield down onto his arm, testing its weight on his arm before drawing his longsword from its sheath.
Taking a deep breath Yuri glances at Renvalm, glad to have such an imposing figure at his back. Steeling his nerves, Yuri begins to walk towards the blockage in the trail. Shifting his gaze constantly from the blockage to the shrubs and trees by the sides of the trail, Kimberley's orders ringingly clearly in his head.
OOC - I did want to make a similar check to Renvalm, but am having trouble with the dice roller. Kyle-are you happy to roll for me? Or I could download a die roller app but don’t want to be accused of fudging anything.
Renvalm didn't really like the idea of taking orders from someone he just met but had to admit that Kimberly sounded like she knew what she was doing. He didn't like the idea of walking straight towards the blockade but there wasn't any alternative. If he was going to walk behind Yuri he wanted to be ready to at range. Pulling out a javelin he readied it to throw in the likelihood they were attacked on the way to the blockade.
"Yuri, if you are willing to go I'm ready to follow behind. Let's hope this doesn't delay us too much, the sooner we drop these supplies off the better." Seeing Yuri start Renvalm starts following 10ft behind him. Looking ahead towards were the blockade is, Renvalm scams the woods on both sides for any sign of danger.
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
As the cart approached scene, Kim slows the cart to a stop about 60 feet from the fallen beasts. Anyone staying with the cart does not see much from this distance. Grangram readies a crossbow rather swiftly and smoothly.
Yuri and Revalm, on their approach, can see that the fallen beasts are 2 horses downed in the roadway. These horses are littered with arrows with black fletching. You both can tell that their saddlebags have been looted from the flaps that were left open. As you approach, you hear some rustling from the nearby bushes. An arrow cuts through the trees and leaves from the north side of the roadway. 11 The arrow flies wide past the cart. It appears the target was the loaded wagon.
Two creatures emerge from each side of the roadway. They are short, around three and a half feet tall with ugly pasty features and messy black hair, tied back. they begin to step forward with their scimitars. They are easily identified as goblins, one of the smaller races. You know they find power in numbers.

Similar checks are often good. You may see something the other player had missed.
As far as dice rolling I normally type it out as so: [ roll]1d20+3[ /roll] This is the format the dice roller needs to be typed out without spaces in front of “roll”
The 1 part is the number many dice. The d20 (can be any die, d4 d6 d8 d10 d12) partis the type of die. The +3 (can also be negative, -3) part would be any modifiers to the roll.
All the above numbers can be modified to fit your roll. Such as 2d6+2 for a damage roll if your weapon and strengh dictates that.
Seems like you got the dice to roll. I think it threw an error because you added another roll somewhere after you posted. If you have add a roll, put it at the bottom of your post on a new line and just give me a heads up. That should not throw a manipulated dice error.
I can roll for you, but that’s the fun part of the game! Up to you really. Give rolling a shot and we can work something out.
Darthos looked at Kim while she gave out commands and gave a nod when she spoke his orders. "Easy enough to do," he said as he pulled out a piece of cured leather and placed it on his lap mumbling an incantation while his hands, blooming with power, began forming an intricate weave in the air. The leather began to glow and lift from his lap, hovering between his hands. Then, just as he finished his incantation he slammed a hand on his chest and felt a wave sorcery envelop him, forming around him as it faintly glowed a bright blue before disappearing.
Just as he finished casting mage armor an arrow flew by him causing him to duck and let out a startled cry. Two goblins emerged from the surrounding foliage, his eyes widening at their sight. He'd never seen anything like them and fear gripped him as death was suddenly a very real possibility. "Goblins!"
Seeing the goblins Renvalm and with prospects of a fight he starts to feel the blood lust come to him but manages to hold it back. It wasn't worth the effort to go all out on these guys and there was the possibility he might lose control again. He needed to stay clear headed for this fight and protect the cargo. With a battle cry he grabs his great axe and prepares for battle. "Prepare to die you fowl goblins, death has come for you!"

The two goblins screech as they exit the wooded area toward the brave adventurers. The look half confused after being yelled at by a human in thier tongue. The small rusted scimitars look rather dangerous being wielded by these small creatures. Each carry a small shield on their arm. Goblin 1 (north side) yells back to Kim in goblin, “not before you die first!” Goblin 2 (south side) holds his blade up. A rustling can be heard deeper in the trees ahead of you, but your not sure where it’s coming from.

Darthos begins speaking an incantation aloud, his deep voice carrying as his left hand begins weaving around and circling the palm of his right hand, sorcery coalescing in shimmers as his left hand begins to travel down the forearm of his right, the skin flaking off into the air and taking on a dark, charred appearance, a small ball of yellow energy then appears on his in his right hand before suddenly expanding into a small ball of fire. His incantation ended, he looks suddenly at Kim as she speaks a foreign language, the goblin returning as if conversing with her.
He blinks in confusion as he looks between the two, his lips forming a question but decides against it. Instead, he focuses his attention on the goblin to the north of the road and sends his fire bolt towards it, causing the spell to streak through the air towards the goblin, all the while he's eyeing Kim warily, noticing as the spell hits the goblin and wreaths it in a gust of flame for few short moments before the fire dissipates.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Before Renvalm can make a move toward any of the goblins a sudden flash of a fire ball comes from the direction of the wagon and strikes the goblin to the north of him. He could only assume that someone near the wagon had taken the initiative and attacked first. Seeing that goblin 1 was busy he decided to make sure that the other was equally occupied.
Raising his greataxe up, he changes at goblin 2 and attacks. Swinging the axe diagonal across the goblins chest he is greeted with the feeling of it hitting it's flesh. He was starting to have the familiar feeling of the joy of spilling blood, the feeling that he has grown to dread. Whatever they had done to him to make him this way was getting worse but he could still control it. Hopefully he could learn to use it to his advantage before it consume him and he loses all control.
