We enter. Our heroes have just accepted a job to secure a fallen star in the sand-glass desert. They have taken the portal house to milroth, just on the outskirts of glytoria, nearest to the desert where the star landed. Just before the desert is a road through a rough forest. Bandits have been known to wander through here.
If it was just that, our adventurers would be fine. But there is talk of strange things happening to the beasts of the woods. Increased strength, intelligence, ferocity...
They continue on even with these warnings. Hoping they can work their way through any obstacles together.

I have all the supplies I will need. Make your preparations and we will meet at the portal house.
6 clanks off as small steam jets exhaust from under the collar about his neck. The next time you see him he is sitting motionless next to the door of the portal house.
Zelthar goes about his business, finding a way to squeeze in a final bit of research before the group sets out on their journey. A few hours pass by before he arrives at their meeting point, sly grin on his face as he revels in anticipation of what's to come next. Landing delicately on his shoulder, a raven with purple tinted feathers and a pierced beak. "Ah my good Sir Poe, it's time for another adventure" he chuckles as he pats the familiar "Lest we get into some mischief, I suppose a smooth journey is what we should hope for."
He stands at the ready, reading his book: A Primer on Celestial Bodies & the Arcane as his familiar squawks out the word, "Nerrrrd" letting out it's own avian cackle.
Tymm has never been one to hold on to money for long. Before the 100 gold had settled in his pocket he had a shiny new crossbow and bolts, a healing potion, and some extra food. He also checks his animal trap to ensure its in good working order just in case there's an opportunity to catch something tastier than travel rations. All his gear assembled, he throws his large axe over his shoulder and strolls towards the portal house, eager to get on the road with his new companions.

As Richie takes the pouch with 100GP, he can't help but think that there's more than Terry is letting on. Then again, just dropping that he's seeking a True Connection with Serra--which some say could be the end of the world, or the beginning--is more to himself, too. They know he's been guided to them, on his quest for his sons, but what that True Connection will mean, and what he'll do to get it, well, he's honestly not sure, himself. May Serra guide him.
He enters a supply and magic store.
"Let's see. Not sure how long this will take, so I better get extra rations and water. I could take the time and energy to create holy water, but I don't want to take too long, so I'll just buy one. That'll come in handy to Bless. Let's see, a potion of healing...wow! Things are more, when you're not 'in the sticks.' I think my pouch may need that potion!"
After he completes his purchases, he quietly chants for a blessing, and as he does, a golden yellow aura glows around him: Gracious Serra, I beg you to hear my prayer. Grant me wisdom so I may be filled with joy. I seek this of you as your devout follower, o almighty one. Anoint me with the power of Our People: Vigilant Blessing!
There, now should we meet so challenges along the way, this should help increase the odds for me to get some of the party Blessed, and show them that it really is the unassuming ones to watch for...well, looks like I'm last to show up, but a little preparation now, will be worth it, later...
terry leads them into the portal house, then barters a little with the shopkeeper, a wave of his hand later and the shop keeper leads them into the back and opens a portal to milroth.
as they pass each hero can make a perception check as they glance the shopkeeper.
terry waves through the last one and they arrive in the town. the shopkeeper there nods to the adventurers "ello there! i am zimmie. welcome to milroth. where are ya headed folks?" zimmie is an older halfling as you can see. he seems tougher than usual. his fine white shirt is covered by a nice leather jacket. his left eye seems to have been slashed by some beast or other, and a pipe rests between his teeth unlit. he rests his hands in his pockets and watches.
the shop seems just like the one you just left. if it weren't for the new owner you might have thought it was. a short building, tymm having to duck slightly to not hit his head, plain wooden walls with no windows and rows of portals on each wall.

Zelthar continues on jabbering along nonsense with his familiar as the continue forward before saying to no one in particular “Why walk the straight path when the crooked one is far more interesting hmmm? Bahaha”
Undeterred by their surroundings, 6 walks out the front door. They pause to get their bearings. Comparing navigational factors to Terry's map they point out the direction to the others
as everyone gathers together. 6 leads them around the wide streets of the small town, to a road going out to the woods.
ahead you can faintly see the desert in the distance. the yellow sand dunes just a speck on the horizon. but its not far. maybe a two or three day walk, if there is little obstacles.
as the party looks over its supplies one last time to make sure everything is in check. then they set off. and after only a short ways off, they can still somewhat see the small town, they here a faint scream.
then some voices. an elvish girls voice calls along the breeze "get off me you humans! let us go!" as the party crests the small hill they were ascending. a somewhat humorous scene unfolding down below. four bandits and a hobgoblin have caught three girls and are attempting to hold them down.
two of the men are attempting to wrestle an elvish girl. and she seems to be winning as she kicks the guy in front of her then flips the one who was holding her arms from behind over her head. the hobgoblin growls his annoyance as he watches a little ways away.
another man holds another girl to a tree. her feathery wings flap and wail out from behind her as she savagely struggles against her captor, screaming curses and insults.
the last man has the last girl cowering in front of him as he just lightly holds her wrists. she seems to be the only human of the three girls, and also the most quiet and weakest.
finally the hobgoblin roars as his men are thrown off the elf yet another time. he stomps over with her back turned, grabs her by the hair and slams his fist into her chest, then growls at his comrades "you really let a puny elf girl beat you up!?" the elf girl in question doesn't seem so strong anymore as she groans from the hobgoblins hand. he throws her at the other two "bind her and put her with the others"
“Guys, I think we should do somethin’ to try and help.”Without waiting for a response Tymm boldly approaches the gang. “Okay friends, I’m not quite sure what you think you’re doing here, but it ends now. But I’m new in town and don’t want to cause problems, so in that spirit, I’m friends and I will let you off with a warning. Leave the young ladies alone and go now, before I use your intestines as a belt.”
