I'll NPC Pax and move the encounter along hoping they are indisposed at the moment and can get back to the game shorlty.
Pax send a Hex at the Dragon and then fires an eldritch beam with advantage from the bardic inspiration.
The hex and the eldritch blast do 14 damage to the Dragon adding to the damage Ven did. The Dragon roars and banks away from the keep. The fight taken out of the dragon it seems.
End encouter.

With the Dragon gone after taking some damage, you get the feeling it wasn't really invested in destroying the town so much. The noise of raider and activity in the town seems to be dwindling and the number of disturbances near the keep minimal.
Time stamp 3 AM
From the darkness, a creature strides into the dim light of the dying fires around the keep. Although it is shaped roughly like a human, it is at least seven feet tall, its skin is covered in blue scales, its fingers bear wicked claws, and its face has the muzzle and reptilian eyes of a dragon. The creature stops about eighty yards from the main gate of the keep and scans the walls. A line of kobolds fans out behind it. With their spears, they prod four human prisoners into the dim light. You can make out a woman, a teenage boy in a blood-soaked tunic, and two children. Then the half-dragon creature hails the keep.
“Defenders of Greenest! This has been a successful night, and I am feeling generous. Do you see these four pitiful, useless prisoners? We have no need for them, so I will trade them back to you. Send out your best warrior to fight me, and you can have these four in exchange.”
Roll an arcana or nature check please.
Sergeant Markguth shouts, "You bastard. Release them." Markguth tries to move out to engage the creature. Escobert the Red and a few other defenders restrain him.
Nighthill approaches you, “My friends, you’ve demonstrated your prowess all through this frightful night. I realize this is an awful burden to ask you to bear, but any of you has a better chance to defeat that horror than my militia have.”

Arcana: 2 (ha!)
His ignorance at what he would be facing combined with the adrenaline of success makes him more optimistic than he probably should be.
Cyanwrath is pleased to see a champion step forward. He agrees to these terms for the combat: The three children will be set loose immediately, but his kobolds will continue to stand guard over the woman, and they will kill her if anyone interferes in the fight.
The governor stands down his archers and keeps his men in the keep until the fight is over.

He follows that up by casting Ensnaring Strike and moving 20’ along the wall of the city. His goal is to avoid a melee battle with the much larger beast.
Cyanwrath rolled a 25 str save and the vines shrivel up and fade away.
Cyanwrath howls at the arrow strike. He moves 30ft then dashes to close the distance. As he gets to 20ft away Cyanwrath uses his action surge, and he lets loose a lightning bolt breath blast at Piotr.

Pax is standing on the castle wall - just watching. I have a readied action of - yelling " you have made your point - leave us- I will take his body now" if Piotr falls in combat- then i will jump down (ive activated wings flying). and go over to the body and start pulling it back into the keep.
i think that the above movement is allowed but could be wrong..
Feeling wozy from the lighting bolt, Piotr staggers but keeps standing. He pulls out a potion of healing and quickly drinks it. (4d4+4 = 14). With the brute nearby (dang, it moved fast for a big guy), he doesn't have time for another action so readies himself for the next attack.

1/2 on save. I count using a potion as a bonus action.

The darkness moves to hazy gray to normal light. Piotr's eyes flutter open and asks, "We there yet?" He blinks a few more times to get everything back into focus, including remembering that he is at the Keep. He looks up at Pax and says, "thank you" before looking around for the beast that was kicking his ass. Seeing none and noticing his safe location, he relaxes for a well needed rest.
