Pax responds. “Glad to help friend. You saved lives by agreeing to the duel, the Dragonborn simply wanted to show his (or her) dominance. Least I could do was pull you to safety. Just glad they kept their word and left. When your rested up we may need to check on the prisoners that you got released”
Governor Nighthill gratefully offers two potions of healing to the wounded Piotr for valently stepping up to defend the Keep and Town. All of you are truly wonderful adventurers and we are blessed to have you here to help us. Get some rest and I'll have healer attend to Piotr as well. We will talk more later.

After the fight the raiders began exiting the town in earnest. The night is uneventful and the trio of heroes wake to the aftermath of the raid.
When the sun comes up, even a quick inspection shows that over half of the buildings are heavily damaged and much of the town’s wealth was carried away. Hundreds of injured people are crowded into the keep or are found hiding in cellars, but most of them will survive.
In the warm light of day, Governor Nighthill and other leaders want to know who was behind the attack on Greenest, and why the town was a target. The raiders retreated toward the southeast, and their trail is easy to spot. A small, stealthy group could follow the trail to the raiders’ camp and gather information.
Governor Nighthill approaches the characters with a proposal: If they locate the raiders’ camp and find out certain information, he offers to pay them 250 gp apiece. He wants to know where the camp is sited, how many raiders are there, who their leaders are, what’s motivating these attacks, and where they plan to strike next. If characters recover valuables that were stolen from the town, he would like them returned, but he does his best to arrange a reward from what’s left of the town treasury. Recovering treasure, however, is a lesser goal when compared to the other objectives he brings up.
Any gear or supplies the characters need for the trip are furnished by the town. As characters prepare to set off on this mission (or to leave town if they turn down the mission), though, an injured monk approaches.
Ven says, "Mmmm Well cyanwrath got a good look at Piotr and the Dragon got a good look at all of us. We'll need some disguises to pull this off and they better be good."
A young man walks up to you, limping heavily on his bandaged left leg. “I hear that you intend to follow the raiders and see where they’ve gone. I’d like nothing better than to come with you, but in this condition, I’d slow you down. In the midst of all this tragedy, there’s no reason you would have heard about the fate of my master, Leosin Erlanthar, but it’s important you know. He is a monk from Berdusk. He disappeared last night, after we fought a particularly savage battle against raiders. A few others and I fought our way to the keep, barely. Leosin didn’t make it at all. We went back this morning to look for him, but all we found was his broken staff and this choker, which he always wore.”

Piotr gratefully accepts the two potions of healing when he wakes up from the healer's attention. He feels excellent, in fact stronger and more limber than before, although disappointed by his poor showing in the one-v-one combat. Thinking about ways he could improve next time, he asks for a handaxe - he recalls some training in two-weapon attacks and defense so vows to practice and use those memories in future combat. Over the course of the fighting during long night, he also picked up a few tricks related to archery, including how to target someone nearby. It would have definitely helped him if he could have effectively used his best weapon! He also asks for enough arrows to return his quiver to its full capacity of 20. Piotr also reviews his spells and realizes that he now knows an additional spell, Goodberries, which is something he had heard others talk about but he himself could never master until this morning - he knows he will need to remember to cast the spell at the end of each day so they would be ready, just in case, for the next day.
He joins Ven and Pax talking with Nesim discussing plans. After learning of the governor's reasonable request, he says to Nesim, "I am Piotr and am sorry for your loss. I know that healers are busy but perhaps a potion of healing would help you." He pulls one of the bottles he received earlier to offer to the injured monk in front of him. "Assuming it helps you, perhaps you could accompany us to search for Master Leosin and those raiders. Regardless of whether you accompany us or not, we would appreciate your recommendation about who could help disguise us. I don't suppose there are some haflings nearby I could swap clothes with or someway to change my look in a way that would withstand the vigor of travel on the road."
“Leosin has been investigating these raiders for months. I fear that he might have tried to infiltrate their group when they retreated, or worse, was captured and carried away as a prisoner. No one understands these bandits better than he does, and his knowledge will be invaluable against them. When you find their camp, please look for any sign that Leosin is there. One of my brothers has already departed for Berdusk to bring back help, but it will be many days before help arrives. Anything you can do before then would be a godsend. mmmm, if you captured any others or the dead that perished here will likely have some halflings that can provide some disguises for you. There isn't anything much more we can do unfortunately. Maybe a mask or cloaks to cover your faces a bit or something similar?"

"No need to carry anything for me, but thank you for the offer. Let's get going to find this camp and see if we can find Leosin." Piotr changes his traveler's clothes (he always keeps a spare set since it can be difficult to find halfling sized clothes that are not made for human toddlers) and accepts a robe from one of the people in the keep before heading out with his companions.

“I can be stealthy when needed. How about I go ahead of the group -say, 60 to 100 feet ahead - to scout. Actually, I will take one of those masks to cover my face. It might be a bit large on me but could confuse the dragon for a short time.” Piotr doesn’t know much about dragons but anything that might make them less deadly is a good idea.
The group meets with the governor and the young monk. The group finds and had some disguises already on them to use. The add a mask for Piotr and the others were likely not seen enough to have been recognized anyway. Only the Kobold and the Cyanwrath got a good look at Piotr so they should be set. The town adds 3 potions of healing for the group one for each. With each of the adventurers also having a bag of holding any treasure they find of the town can be brought back safely should they risk it. Piotr volunteers to take lead and the group sets off.
The raiders’ path is easy to follow across the rolling grassland of the Greenfields. A wide swath of grass is trampled down, but it’s impossible to determine the raiders’ numbers precisely. The path only confirms what you already know: there were a lot of them, and they were a mix of humans, kobolds, and trained reptiles.
All roll for perception check please See spoiler if anyone of you gets a DC 15
Many of the beasts’ footprints are deeper on the retreat than they were on the approach march. They were weighed down with loot on the homeward-bound trip, but let players reach that conclusion on their own. It’s not possible to tell from the confusing jumble of prints whether any specific footprints are those of prisoners.
About 4 miles out of town Piotr signals to the group he's spotted something. See pm.

Piotr sneaks back to his companions to give them an update:
There is a group cooking, a fire smoke from several miles away, because the stragglers stopped to roast a few prairie hens for a meal. They sought shelter in a low spot between surrounding hills, where tall boulders have rolled into a loose jumble. In fact, the surroundings offer no protection while making it easier for enemies to sneak up on the site. there are four human cultists and eight kobolds in the group. The kobolds and humans distrust each other, and although the cultists act as if they’re the bosses, their leadership amounts to nothing more than ineffectual bullying. The humans’ weapons are stacked against a rock, out of easy reach. The kobolds have their weapons on their belts.
“We can surprise them, which will even out the numbers. A risky play would be to sneak up to take the stacked weapons. I think we would be fine to attack them at a distance, but that may be because I like shooting my bow” Piotr says with a smile.
Ven says, "Wow, Let's see how this develops if they don't like each other, we might find an opportunity to deal with them separately. What do you think? Either way lets get in position to strike or bypass them perhaps."
