The door creaks open, and Erik finds himself staring into the face of the horrific undead, its oversized claws extended as it prepares to fight all of you...
(OOC: @Weathervision @Mister_Whisker - when you kick off the combat, will you post a battle map or at least let us know everyone's relative positions and distances to the creature? When Eppie & Simon saw the creature, it emerged "from the shadows" but it also clattered "against the stone as it ascends." I was thinking that it was coming up from the dark tunnel where they saw The Hunter descend earlier. But from this later description, I couldn't tell whether Erik is seeing the creature from across the courtyard or whether he's basically face-to-face with it.)

Or should we just assume that we can get into short range of our ranged actions / spells this round? If it stays where it is, I can't imagine that anyone other than Simon and Pinion can move far enough on their turn to engage it in melee this round without the help of a spell.)
Eppie's eyes widen behind her goggles. "Blast it! Haunts!" And without hesitation she snaps her revolver out from a holster at her waist and fires at the middle of the thing's chest.

(Yes, just assume that you can get within short range. It's a tough monster, but 6-on-1 I don't expect the fight to take too long)

Surprisingly, Toa only ambles laconically towards the undead horror, not nearly fast enough to get there. But echo-Toa sprints like an island hunter closing with prey, entering melee range with it. (Free movement of echo up to 30', so echo within 5' of enemy, Toa remains 35' away, within 30' of echo).
The runes and pictographs on both figures' faces and bodies seem to dance upon their skin, as if recalling ancient ancestral rites. (ToaRages).
As Toa attacks from echo-Toa's position (NOTE: echo-Toa itself cannot attack), the Ancestral Protectors depicted on his face and body distract the foe. On Toa's first hit, ALL attacks the enemy makes (including attacks against echo-Toa) are made at disadvantage against all targets except Toa himself for the rest of the turn, and those targets have resistance to that damage.
But if the enemy wishes to approach Toa himself, Toa is standing 35' back and can make opportunity attacks from echo-Toa's space if the enemy leaves echo-Toa's reach without first taking a disengage action.
Echo-Toa has 1hp, AC18 and immunity to all conditions (and again, attacks on echo-Toa have disadvantage due to Ancestral Protectors).
Free: Move Echo up to 30' Movement: Move to within 35' of enemy and 5' of Echo. Bonus Action: Rage Action: Attack twice from echo-Toa's position. Reckless Attack for advantage, so all attacks against Toa (but not against echo-Toa) also have advantage
Maul attack 1 to hit: 24 Maul attack 1 damage: 13 bludgeoning Ancestral Protectors (on hit): target has disadvantage on attacks against all targets other than Toa himself (including disadvantage on attacks against echo-Toa) and those targets have resistance to the damage. Toa himself is 35' away, but can make attacks of opportunity from echo-Toa's position.
The reaction fails to hit the elusive echo... on its turn, the creature seems to fade into the shadows for a moment... then there is suddenly what can only be described as an explosion of darkness around the undead! Everything within 15ft of the undead (that is to say, Toa's echo) needs to make a DC 14 Con save or take 32 necrotic damage (believe it or not, no damage on a successful save). And suddenly, the monster is right there, standing in front of Toa and cackling maniacally! Toa's attacks seem to have hurt it, but not as much as he might have liked...

Erik: Round 1
Erik sees the gruesome creature and exclaims, "Does everyone see Mr. Spikey Longfingers?" Anyone near Erik hears a deep humming vibration, and Erik begins to hover a few inches above the ground. He says, "Lid on!", and his helmet extends to cover most of his face. He leans forward slightly and glides through the doorway to the courtyard as he equips his shield. Once he's clear of the doorway and in the courtyard, Erik flies up about 20' in the air and hovers in the air, hopefully keeping distance from the undead abomination and keeping his shield between him and the creature. He raises his free hand and a series of crystals around his wrist start to glow. He points at the creature and a crackling bolt of lighting leaps across the courtyard toward it. As soon as the brilliant light from the first bolt fades, Erik sends a second bolt at the creature.
Movement: 35' flying, fly ~15' through the door and into the courtyard, then fly 20' up (hovering) Action: Two attacks with Lightning Launcher, range (90/300) Attack 1: 26, Damage: 8 (lightning) Attack 2: 30, Damage: 9 (lightning) If either attack hits, the first hit does an additional 6 (lightning) damage.
