"Three gold seems a bit steep for a tour around town." Sizzle replies as he looks the centaur up and down. "I hope you don't expect 3 gold a piece..." He adds gesturing towards his companions.
when Halila mentions getting a drink, the goblin nods in agreement. "That does sound like a good idea... Maybe from there we can figure out a way for us to get back home... I've got important research to continue." He adds as he adjusts his pack on his shoulders.
Halila did not seem fazed by the tiefling, but is glad when Parisa drives him off. "Sigil?" she asks. "I'm not really sure of where that is. Do you know where the city of Keraveza is located?" That was where she had been living, so it must not be too terribly far. And she figures as foreign as this place seems, guidance back for 3 gold might not be bad deal. 'Delights of the multiverse seems a bit over the top of a boast though,' she thinks.
"A drink while we talk might be nice though. Is there an establishment where we could all relax for a bit nearby?" she suggests.
"Nope! Never heard of it! But this is the city of doors, so I'm pretty certain that someone, somewhere here knows about it and how to get there!" Parisa smiles. "Sigil is...umm...goodness it's hard to explain. But I guess the best explanation is that it is at the center of everything? But nowhere at the same time? The Great Wheel? Outlands?" She scratches her cheek a bit in thought. "Maybe there's a better explanation but that's probably close! Now! A drink we can do though! Just a few gold and I'll get you there in moments!" She grinned happily again, shaking herself a bit.

"Well it's a big place! Easy to get turned around! And here in the Hive ward, you gotta be on your hooves! Not always the best place for people who are lost! Oh don't be silly, of course just 3 gold for the group! I'm not that greedy!" She winked and clopped a bit. "Oh there are some great places to look for information here! The Hall of Records in the Clerk's ward is probably your best bet for that! I guess, depends on what research you needed! Course there's also the Institute for Intellectual Excellence."
As he continues to look around, Zakhar begins to understand where they are. After witnessing the interaction between the tiefling and the centaur, his theory is confirmed. They are in Sigil, the city of doors. He's never been here before, but he has been aware of it's existence for as long as he's lived.
"You know, I could have told you that."
Zakhar sighs mentally. "But you didn't and I wasn't going to ask."
The voice scoffs.
Zakhar ignores the entity, and places his hand on his jaw as he listens to the centaur. Three gold for the group? Still sounds a little steep but it might not be a bad investment. He nods to her explanation of Sigil, being from the Outlands he knows most of that already. Though that doesn't mean he can navigate it very well.
"I do need to get home too. I have a job to do, and ...trainings to attend." He looks even more tired when he says the last part.
"I can pitch in one gold,"He pulls out a rather sad looking coin purse and looks at the others. "I could pay for all of it but I'd really prefer not to. I don't have much to spend."
"Has anyone ever told you how terrible you are at negotiations?"
"Three gold does seem steep," Halila says. "Especially when you won't even do us the courtesy of sitting down to drink over the deal. It does seem like a guide could be helpful. How about I throw in one more gold and we call it a deal? You will be our guide for the entire day?" (Persuasion: 10)
As she muses over Parisa's words, she starts to put a bit together. "You said Outlands? Like the place amongst the Outer Planes?" She sounds a bit confused though. "How did I end up here though?"
Esta, sensing that Parisa is not going to accept the deal, readies her hand and pulls out a gold coin also. "I'm not one to part with money... so this better be the most goddamn best tour that has ever been." She flicks the coin towards Parisa lazily.
"Seeing so much death does really wet one's appetite.. doesn't it?" She has a bemused look upon her face, but those paying close enough attention can see she is shaken by the experience.
As she waits to leave, her imagination begins to tick away, as she thinks of how she can replace this coin, and more, once she's in the hustle and bustle of this place. I'm sure there will be a few eager drunkards who will part with their coin, hehe...
Parisa laughs. "You are a funny bunch! Three gold gets me for the whole day of course! Though, certainly in these quarters, a bit of circumspection would do no harm. And well, while we -could- sit down over a drink, we aren't already at a bar so that's just out. But for a few gold I'm more than happy to show you around! Or wander about yourselves if you rather. But you won't find a better tour guide around here than me! But umm, do decide if you please. I have other things I could do and this really isn't the best place to just, stand around in, if you catch my meaning." She smiled though and looks eager to get going.
Sizzle grumbles and pulls out two more gold coins before tossing them to the centaur. "There, that makes three." He then taps his chin for a moment... "Seems like we are a long way from Ravnica and the Izzet League. Maybe the institute of intellectual Excellence could provide some useful research materials to make up for this... delay in my experiments." He ponders aloud.
Tyriel eyes the tiefling... what's his problem? He watches as the unpleasant character slinks off, eyeing him like one would a wild animal until he's out of sight. Then Tyriel turns his attention to the other newcomer, his frown never changing as she talks. Clearly he's not really interested in the wonders of the multiverse. However, he is interested in finding his way around and... well it seems like the rest of the group is too. They all have questions that need answers... and he needs a way home.
"I'll pay for it," Tyriel says with a sigh, pulling out his own apparently weighty coin purse and thumbing out the three gold. It's the least he can do after his failure with the pudding creature.
"I just hope everyone isn't paying her the full amount," Halila mumbles to the others. She keeps her coin when both Sizzle and Tyriel offer to pay the whole amount. 'Not much of a chance for bargaining when we're bidding against ourselves!' she thinks. "I agree we should get moving. So, let's go. I suppose this Institute is as good a place as any to start getting answers." She feels like a drink and a chance to regroup would be nice too, but one thing at a time. She looks over at Sizzle, "I hope we don't end up wasting too much time though on whatever your experiments are. We need to figure out what's going on. Why are we even here? How did we get here?"
"Im not saying we go there now... I just figure that if i'm going to get in trouble to failing to finish my research.. I may as well come back with SOMETHING useful when I return to Ravnica." Sizzle replies as he puts his coins back in his pocket. "I think starting with a mug or two of ale is the best place to start... and if no one there can explain how we all ended up here.. then perhaps the institute may be able to answer those questions."
Halila glances from Sizzle to Parisa and back. "Geesh, you're the one that suggested going there! And Parisa has made it clear we just need to decide! So, let's go!"
"Fine! Let's go then..." Sizzle barks back as he throws his hands in the air. "Research then booze. I suppose its better to research on a clear stumach... and depending on what we find out about our situation... we may need a drink."
He then looks to the Centaur and adjusts his pack. "Lead the way to the institute then."
Parisa smiles and nods."Alright then, to the Clerks' Ward then! Follow me!"She begins walking off at a moderate pace through the drab, trashy, rundown streets of the Hive Ward. The buildings are lopsided hodgepodges of architectural styles and materials, their floors haphazardly stacked atop one another to conserve space. The crooked high-rises darken cramped alleys, many of which appear to be dead ends, perhaps in more ways than one.
As you pass through the winding, fetid streets, a dismal rain begins to fall, and not really rain at that, more like a heavy mist that just comes down and covers everything. Through the gloomy weather a figure appears--a rather kind looking orc, wearing pale, weathered armor, most of the cloth frayed at the edges, carrying a worn mace in one hand while a tome rests on their hip on the other side. As they get closer they hilt their mace on their side and smile."Hello travelers, how fares the Ward for you today? Are you in need of some healing?"They look at you all with a sense of peace and calm.
Tyriel eyes the others who offered to pay first, clearly intent on giving his money instead of them giving theirs. Assuming they accept this, he hands the coins to the centaur with a flat expression. He doesn't care where they go because... well quite frankly he has no idea where the best place to start would be. When the decision is made to go to the ward, he gives a near-unnoticeable nod before following.
When the orc asks them if they need healing, Tyriel crosses his arms in attempt to hide he acid holes that riddle the front of his shirt. He isn't in terrible shape anymore, but he could still use healing. He just is going to be stubborn and not ask. Even if it's free, he doesn't want to be indebted to someone else. Unfortunately, he has a feeling that will be unavoidable considering he has to spend who knows how long in this place with fragmented memories and no idea how to get home. Information is just as valuable as healing or money, especially for him.
Still, he waits to see if anyone else will ask questions before asking any himself.
"I'm really not in need of healing right now. But I'll keep you in mind in the future," Halila tells the kind orc. "How much do you charge? Just so I would know in the future."
The orc looks you over with a sort of, sad smile. "No payment to me is necessary for the healing I give, only payment forward in kind to others. The multiverse brings enough pointless suffering. Extracting unnecessary payment to do good only adds to the suffering. If have need of our services in the future though, you may find us at the Gatehouse, here in the Hive Ward."
Zakhar ensures that he pays his part of the fee, he's not about to let a child...even one who seems to act like an adult (most of the time) to pay for everyone. He doesn't argue with where their destination should be, anything seems fine to him at the moment. He sighs as they walk, bringing up the rear of the group. He looks even more tired than before, clearly he needs sleep though that is never something he looks forward to. He could use some food as well, but he won't argue with his strange new companions.
Once they get to the institute, he listens to the kind looking orc. He seems like a good man, people willing to help for free are becoming more and more rare. Rare enough that such kindness could come across as suspicious. Though Zakhar doesn't feel as if this man is trying to deceive them.
