Once she gets a chance to read the letter, Halila says, "Shemeska. I don't suppose any of you know who that might be." She then turns to Farrow. "Well, except for you, our man of many names! But let me guess, you will let your patron explain. Later."
For all the derision in her talk, she can't help but admire this place. She is both eager to see their rooms as well as to get a chance to return to enjoy the place. She asks Valek. "I suppose you should get us to our rooms." She says the last word distinctly; she had read the word 'rooms' but still was expecting they would all just be shoved into some common room they would all share. "Just what sort of entertainment should we expect later? I'm quite intrigued to see what sort of gift will be presented. But I'm even more interested to know when we might meet our benignant host."
Farrow laughs a bit. "I think Valek will take good care of you for now, and enjoy the stay here. Shemeshka can surely help you with your predicament, and I, get to live another day. Well, until our paths cross again." Farrow then exits the casino, leaving you with Valek who looks quite happy to help you.
"All right, this way please." He begins heading toward the second story of the casino and talks on the way. "I'm surprised you don't know who Shemeska is. She is a very influential arcanoloth, and she owns The Fortune's Wheel and is fabulously wealthy. She even makes an appearance here in public regularly, and she is really something to look at, if you catch my meaning. But don't be fooled, she is one of the most cunning people I've ever met. I've heard she has spies everywhere, and enough information and pawns in place to turn the entire city upside down if she wanted."
Upstairs, Valek gestures to a series of rooms, each as luxurious as the last, all fit for royalty, with fresh, very fine clothes waiting for each of you. "Please, make yourselves comfortable. I would be happy to offer any additional services that you may need. But do visit the cage downstairs for your complimentary gifts, and I do suggest you take some time to enjoy yourselves here. Shemeshka will certainly come in a while and find you no doubt. She is impossible to miss." He then stands in attention with a smile and waits in case anyone has any further questions or needs.
Halila had followed along, continuing to be amazed at the luxurious place. When Valek questions about them not knowing Shemeshka she says, "We've only recently arrived... here. To Sigil. I guess we're still learning about the place. I don't think we were planning on coming. None of us were." As he gestures to the series of rooms, she finds the one assigned to her. "These seem to be quite generous accommodations. I hope we will be able to thank our host at some point."
Quickly she steps into the room, suddenly realizing that perhaps she should coordinate with the others. 'Although I don't really know any of them either. But it feels like we're in this together after we woke up together.' She pokes her head back out into the hall, "Hey, perhaps we give ourselves an hour then meet back downstairs at that cage to find our gifts and look around?" She pauses to get some responses but is anxious to go and explore the room.
"Huh, sweet." Esta smirks, exaggeratingly nodding to the party. "A room and free service, I'll take what I can."
Esta will follow Valek, but her eyes are continually scanning the 'clientelle' here - she thinks to herself easy marks here, score should be great!
"Well, if we are all set, I would like to get down there and have a bit of.... fun." Esta says, barely capable of holding back her grin. "Happy to meet you all in an hour at the cage? I know some of you probably need to rest up after our scuffle."
Valek seems to scoff a bit at the mention of "free" service but doesn't say anything. There is time to take a long rest if you wish before you explore the casino.
Sizzle snatches the letter once he gets the chance and quickly reads it over. "Interesting...." He says before handing it off to anyone that wants it. if he is the last to read it then he shoves it in his pocket.
following his companions, the goblin let's out a whistle as they are shown their rooms. "Well... this is fancy!" He grins. "This one is mine!" He shouts before scampering off into the nearest room. The goblin doesn't bother to shut the door before tossing his leather pack onto the bed with a loud clank. "Meeting up downstairs is a good plan! I've got some repairs to make to my gear and myself.." He says as he scratches some dried blood from the end of his nose.
before Valek leaves, Sizzle shouts from inside his room out towards the hallway. "Hey Valek! you don't happen to know if our free gifts include any gems or some wood carvers sets do ya!? The knock on the head I got earlier may have shaken loose a few new ideas.." He goblin says with a grin as he dumps a pile of tools and metal scraps from his pack on to the smooth silk bedsheets.
Once everyone seemed to have agreed to meeting downstairs in an hour, Halila slips into her room, shutting the door behind her.
After glancing about, she goes to examine the fine clothing that had been left for her. Admiring it for a moment, she has some doubts about whether it will actually fit. Eventually she tries it on, spending some time adjusting it and taking a look at herself in any mirrors that must be available in the room.
Finishing that she recalls that the letter had said something about 'room service'. She wasn't sure what that entailed, but she hoped to find out. 'Perhaps there are instructions somewhere?' she thinks as she starts to look about the place. If she figures out how, she will try to get a drink. And perhaps some little sweet treat.
Sizzle lets out a disappointed grunt before beginning to undress and tend to his wounds. He tosses his clothes on the bed near the nightstand before pulling out a small mechanical looking spider from his pack and placing it upon them. The small spider-like machine quickly begins mending the tears in the clothes as it stitches up the wholes with needle-like fangs and shimmering thread-like silk. The goblin then moves to begin cleaning and dressing his wounds. He draws a small flask from the pocket of his trousers and pours the liquid over the wound on his head. He grits his sharp teeth and slams his fist into the table as smoke seems to billow up from the wound. When the final wisps of smoke disappear, the wound is gone as though it never happened.... cure wounds.
The door to his room remains open as the nearly naked green skinned goblin moves around the space. The goblin searches for any refreshments or food that may be kept in the room as well as any small valuables that could easily "go missing". Covering the goblins body are large rust-colored burn scars that had previously been covered by the artificers clothing. After finishing his search of the room, he would put on his clothes and attempt to call for room service. If there is no obvious bell or way to contact someone, he simply sticks his head out into the hallway and beings to shout. "Hey! Room Service! My room needs serviced! I need serviced! I require food and drinks!"
If no food or drinks arrive he grumbles before grabbing his equipment and heading downstairs to pick up his free gift...
Sizzle (and anyone else looking for this) would notice that the room has a fiery red bound book on a side table, with the wheel symbol on the cover that reads: "Menu". Inside the small book are directions for ordering food and drink from the kitchen. Simply writing into one of the blank pages provided will send the order to the kitchen and a response time will appear shortly thereafter, giving an approximate time for the food to arrive. There is a small bit of print at the bottom mentioning costs will be calculated on check-out from the room, but it does seem like the kitchen is able to accommodate a very wide variety of food and taste.
Halila is excited by the discovery of the red book. And a bit more intrigued by the system of papers to make orders. She quickly requests a flavorful drink and a tiny bit of food - preferably something sweet. 'Shemeshka's note said to enjoy room service on her... so I will!"
While waiting she takes a moment to examine the Portal Compass. She's curious to see which way it points, though she of course has no idea how far any gate might be. Or where it might go. 'I wonder where they might have gone with this. Certainly an interesting thing.' She gives it a close examination, seeing if she can glean anything else about the item. When the food and drink arrives she would quickly pocket it and see to answering the door.
Seeing the book, Sizzle quickly picks it up and looks it over. Magical items have always fascinated the goblin... even more now that he can create his own. Before long, Sizzle has scribbled a request for a large tankard of mead, a loaf of bread, and whole rotisserie chicken. After ordering his meal he looks through the book once more... looking to see if they provide materials that may be useful for his spells that he could request as well..
OOC: Would he be able to request other items such as pearls, gems, woodcarving kits... etc...
(Sorry for the wait, between work, the weather, and frequent power outages i've been busy. :') )
Zakhar seems very skeptical of this place, what are these people gaining by helping them out? He's also not sure what to think of this gift...though with all the others seemingly excited to see whatever it is, he figures he should probably accompany them.
He nods tiredly in agreement with the plan before retiring to his room for the hour.
Tyriel hesitantly enters his own room, eyeing it all with a mixture of indifference and disgust. He notes the menu, realizing that he is quite hungry… now that’s something he hasn’t experienced in a while… however he forces himself not to pick it up. Even if it’s free food payed for by the owner of this… house of sin… he was positive he knew where all that money came from. Ugh, this has to be better than the alternative right?
Head spinning with thoughts he’d pushed aside during their escape, he sits down cross legged on the bed and crosses his arms. The bed feels bigger than it should thanks to his small body, and the sensation does little to improve his mood. He eyes the room momentarily, then shuts his eyes in a futile attempt to escape reality. There he will sit until the time comes to meet the others.
…unfortunately his weak mortal body does eventually give in to the need for food however and he finds himself with the menu in hand before he realized what he was doing. Upon realizing his actions, he takes a long pause, then lets out a long breath. He has to survive if he wants to make it home, but… what if he survives only to find himself unfit to enter the divine halls at the end of whatever journey he’s been forced into? He snaps the menu shut for a moment, squeezing his eyes shut before opening the menu again and searching for the cheapest thing on the menu. Fine, it seems he has no choice but to partake, but that doesn’t mean he has to enjoy it. No, he shouldn’t enjoy it. That in mind he orders the cheapest thing he can find, which is likely more extravagant than he’d like but far far less extravagant than what others ordered. To drink, he has plain water. now full, he once more positions himself cross legged on the bed and waits for the meeting time.
Halila checks the portal compass, but at the moment it just seems to spin about. It's possible it's use is inconsistent at the moment due to the room's magical nature. (Your rooms are actually demiplanes inside the casino). The order comes in relatively quickly though, a sparkling fruity fizz that bubbles all the way down as you drink it, and a small plate of deep fried sweet cream balls lightly drizzled with a chocolate sauce with a hint of fiery spice.
While room service seems to be strictly meant for food and drink, the platter that arrives for Sizzle looks great, the rotisserie perfectly cooked, succulent and flavorful, a very warm and fresh loaf of bread with the crust that cracks nicely when you break it, and a large tankard of well aged mead that pairs excellently with the chicken and bread.
Tyriel loses the battle of wills to their carnal need to feed, but receives a simple but hearty platter of stew in a bowl made out of bread, along with a tall cold glass of water.
Zakhar muses over their situation and the wonder and possibility before them as time ticks by.

Esta, already giddy with excitement, can't wait around for long. Food can wait, she thinks to herself. "Well folks, I'll catch you all in the hour by the cage! Wish me luck!" she exclaims, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm as she saunters off to the door, waving with ecstatic emphasis.
She meanders through the halls and down into the main casino lobby, pausing for a moment to take it all in. The dazzling lights, the hum of conversation, the clinking of glasses—glorious. Esta strolls through the casino floor, her eyes darting around as she keeps note of all the points of interest: the security room, private rooms, the stage, the bar. All places where it is far too open or likely too many perceiving… eyes. Yes, she sees where to go.
Picking up her stride, she walks through the lane of slot machines. Machine after machine, each lined up with hopefuls trying their luck. Esta stands behind folks, watching them try, each time exclaiming loudly with them, "Ooooh, so close there!" and "Awwww, better luck next time!" Once, she even sees someone hit big and shouts, "Woooow, amazing!" However, she's not so concerned about the winnings. Esta is using this time to scout out a mark.
She scans the crowd, looking for someone who stands out as flamboyant, overly loud, and not very nice to the staff as they walk by. Loud by nature, always wanting to be the center of attention. Someone who… let's just say if they were to lose a bit more than they bargained for… no one would care.
In their enthusiastic excitement, Esta rushes down to the casino floor, the din of the large room assaulting her ears immediately with promise of easy money...or marks. She would notice as she strolls through that there are several diabolical looking, burly bug creatures that patrol the area, always keeping an eye on the patrons and guests. Most of the guests though seem to be in good spirits right now, some winning, some losing, but for the most part all are enjoying themselves it seems. As Esta reaches the slot machine area though, a wiry-haired night hag jumps for joy before a boxy clockwork machine fitted with a hand lever. The machine’s three, faintly glowing reels display the images of two gray worms and a golden ring. “Come to mama,” giggles the hag as three writhing grubs wiggle from the dispensary slot and into a brass bucket at her feet.
Halila is not really sure about the results from her compass but decides to tuck it away and try again later. She thoroughly enjoys the drink when it comes. And the cream balls - with chocolate are amazing. 'I would not mind living here at all!' she thinks.
After savoring the treats, she relaxes for just a bit until it seems to be time to meet up with the others. Dressed in the fine clothes, she heads down to the casino to look for the cage where they were going to meet.
Sizzle scampers to collect the food. The nearly naked goblin wastes no time as he pulls out his dagger and quickly begins carving off sections of meat with surgical precision. meat, bread, and mead all flood into his sharp toothed mouth as he devours the meal. Soon that is left are bones, grease, and crumbs... mostly covering Sizzles chest. Once the meal was done he would stand up and allow the crumbs to fall to the floor before moving to the mirror. With his hands still covered in chicken grease, he runs them through his black bristly mohawk to give it a bit of extra shine. Then, after collecting his clothes and bag, he down to the game floor...
"Time to see what goodies wait for me at the cage" Sizzle says with a grin as he makes his way towards the casino floor. The excited goblin runs for just a few steps before the mass of food and mead in his stomach causes him to reconsider. Choosing to walk quickly instead, he follows the sounds of the busy casino floor until he reaches his destination. Wringing his gloved hands together, he looks for the cage before making his way to collect his door prize.
