Hearing the poor halfling insist that Illuwenis just trying to make him feel better, Chasefeels a wave of empathy wash over her, pushing away her fury. Poor Rubin! It’s understandable that he now feels too upset to face his girlfriend again.
"I understand how you feel, Rubin, believe me. But Illuwen is telling the truth—please, listen to him! Our friend Lex was also overcome by laughter the moment she stood next to the mannequin. Don’t you see? You’re at the Witchlight Carnival! Magic is everywhere, meant to bring joy and wonder. You and Ween just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But it doesn’t have to end like this, does it? Ween is so worried about you right now. Why not go see her? You wouldn’t want to leave things unresolved for the rest of your life, would you? I’m certain you’d regret it forever!"
"You know what... you're right. I love her with all my heart! I should go back and at least give her a chance to explain."
As you all make your way out of the Hall of Illusions, Rubin starts to understand more of what actually happened. When you finally emerge you see Ween waiting for you at the entrance.
"I'm so sorry, Rubin! I couldn't control it, and it happened at the worst time possible!" Ween says as a single tear wells up in her eye. "Go on, ask me again!"
Rubin looks up from the ground nervously, and with a slight shake in his voice says, "Will you mar..."
"YES!" Ween interrupts as she lunges forward and kisses him with all she's got.
"Awww, isn't that cute?"Chasesays. She doesn’t smile in the slightest, but her happiness is clear, betrayed by the flick of her tail and the sparkle in her eyes. "It does feel good to make people happy, don't you think, guys?" she asks Scratch, Illuwen, and Lex. "Speaking of which, where should we go to find that voice-stealing kenku? Candlefoot mimicked something about when it happened, but the problem is knowing where to go!" She glances around and spots the tent of the Fortune Teller. Her mismatched eyes light up. "Well, the Fortune Teller is right here. Can we go there? Maybe the cards will tell us about the kenku!"
Illuwenpulls his fiddle out and begins serenading the couple with the most romantic song he knows, My Love Wore A Red Dress. (It's a little bawdy - his act mostly does shanties - but seems romantic enough if you don't pay too much attention to the lyrics.) As he plays, he focuses his will into the music and generates a halo of tiny glimmering lights around the halflings, as though the air were filled with glitter.
Finishing the song, he nods at Chase. "Yes, we know what we're looking for but not where to look. The Fortune Teller seems as good a place as any."
Lex had joined the others in reassuring the halfling. “Rubin, I can attest to what the others are saying. There’s a small statue outside of a certain archmage, apparently it’s cursed or something, because I too fell to the ground without warning, laughing so hard I could not breathe. Now why don’t you come with us and let’s go see your love. Nothing would make us happier than to see you two together.”
Before they start to go, he would like to take a hard look at the mirror where the little girl was, to see if he can ascertain more information about how the girl was able to appear there.
(Ooc: Arcana: 7 unless Artificer’s Lore applies… in which case it’s still a 7 after a nat 1 on my advantage roll…sigh)
Scratch sighs contentedly as the halfling couple makes up and gets engaged. What a very nice moment.
When Chase suggests visiting the card reader, her twin scowls to himself. He doesn't like the idea. He doesn't put much stock in that kind of divination, but he doesn't voice his feelings. He sends a silent thought to the Starlit Wanderer: We could use a little help. If we're to find Zybilna, we first need to meet with Mr. Witch or Mr. Light. Show me the right path.

Chase is impressed by Iluwen's music and claps along to the rhythm, happily swaying as he plays. When he finishes, she claps more enthusiastically. "You're good! You should play more. I bet it would help lift the mood around here even more!"
As they walk toward the fortune teller, the tabaxi shares a thought. "Who do you think that person is—the one the masked girl said could help Rubin? I wonder if they had anything to do with Zybilna's disappearance. Because, hells, I don’t think a friend of that girl could be a nice person!"

Unfortunately, no information seems to reveal itself. No devices or magical items other than the mirrors can be found anywhere in the tent.
You all make your way next door to the Fortune Teller. A small tent opens into a dimly lit atmosphere. An elderly lady with a striking purple face paint and fake antlers adorned with gold sits behind a table holding nothing more than a lone object: a crystal orb swirling with an impenetrable mist. She seems to have been expecting you. "Ah yes, and so you've come, young travelers, to seek what is foretold. A word to the wise: fortune is not always in your favor. Nothing before you is set in stone, but I'll give you a glimpse of what is known..." her low voice rasps. "Shall we begin?" (Map Updated)

Illuwenfrowns. "Maybe. Let's hope not. I'd rather not have to deal with them, if we can avoid it."

A smirk appears on Illuwen's face as he looks around at the rest of the group. The fortune teller is certainly projecting a foreboding image, but he's not buying it.
"Yes, I think we're all ready to hear our fortune."
Chase is immediately drawn to the fortune teller and the swirling orb. "Oh, there are so many things I want to ask! How does this work? How many questions can we ask?"
Looking at Chase the fortune teller says, "I'm sorry, dear. Unfortunately, I don't answer questions as they are asked. I can only look into my crystal ball and interpret what I see. The fates determine what they want me to see and what they want to keep hidden. Now then, one at a time. Please, sit and I will tell you what I see. Don't worry about your tickets, this attraction is free."
(If you are getting your fortune read I need you to roll 1d4, 1d6, and 1d6 as 3 separate numbers. If you roll duplicates on your d6 rolls, then re roll the second die.)
(Also, I misread something. Illuwen will also have received a ticket at the ticket booth from the anonymous benefactor and must use it to access attractions like everyone else. So we'll just back date that and thus far everyone has used 1 out of 8 punches. My bad guys!😅)
Chaselooks a little disappointed that she can't ask her own questions, but her curiosity about what the orb will say about her keeps her engaged. She waits patiently for her turn, sneaking a peek around the fortune teller's tent in the meantime.
One at a time the fortune teller looks into your futures...
Illuwen sits down and the orb begins to glow a forest green color, and particles move around inside it that almost look like music notes. "OoOo! Seems like someone is going to get fairly lucky in the fine skills, but will suffer a life threatening event. You should be careful young elf." (You earn a d8 that you can add to any Dexterity check or saving throw. I gain a d8 that I can subtract from any Constitution check or saving throw.)
She continues with Chase. As you sit down the orb begins to glow a greyish blue and particles that resemble eyes swirl around inside. "Oh my! I see a moment of increased resiliency in your future. I also see your more... showy talents being disrupted. Not as dire at your elf friend here, but could still land you in some hot water." (You earn a d8 that you can add to any Constitution check or saving throw. I gain a d8 that I can subtract from any Charisma check or saving throw.)
Next she moves on to Lex. As you sit, the orb glows a deep shade of purple and leaf like particles flow around as if a gust of wind hit them. "I see you drawing from the wisdom of the universe like the sage's of old. But the fine skills area will suffer a bit. Never take knowledge for granted, young one. Let it guide you." (You earn a d8 that you can add to any Wisdom check or saving throw. I gain a d8 that I can subtract from any Dexterity check or saving throw.)
Finally, she looks at Scratch and says, "Are you sure you would not like to have your future read?" as she gestures towards the seat across from her.
