Korath knows that Sylvanus, the god of nature, isn’t often inclined to favor civilization, but even he can sense the sincerity of Tharra’s plea. Perhaps, in this moment of crisis, the wild and the cultivated can find common ground to protect the people within.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Korath can’t help but let out a brief, humorless chuckle. “Let’s hope he takes a bit longer,” Korath replies, the weight of the moment still heavy on him but grateful for the grounding presence of the Goliath beside him.
Seeing that the impact isn't immediate, Gurog hurriedly speaks to the family huddled in fear beneath him. "Quickly now, it looks like they are gathering everyone to move to somewhere safe." Looking around he sees that the ones organizing the crowd is a half-orc, a young cadet, and a druid. "Follow me over here, they will take care of you." With large strides and the family half-running to keep up, Gurog joins the others in the center of town and the family joins with the rest of the citizens. Standing heads taller than the group Gurog speaks, "Good job evacuating these people. My name is Gurog, let me know if you need anything to help! We don't have much time before *that* happens!" (vaguely gesturing behind and above him where the man is falling). Gurog then runs over to the child he heard yelling on his way over here. "What do you know of this falling man?! Tell me quick for time is short!" It was not his intention to frighten the child (why does it always have to be so hard to deal with people!), but she gasps in fear, her crying cutting off immediately, seemingly stuck in her throat. She begins to shake as this 7.5 foot goliath ran at her and is now looming over her demanding answers. Intimidation: 23
The girl squeaks, “Saw him in the tall scary man at the temple’s book!” And begins crying again
Gurog turns to the others beside him, “a girl thinks she saw the man in the sky in a book in the temple belonging to a ‘tall scary man’. When the dust settles, do you want to help me find the temple-man and figure out what we are dealing with? She is just a kid so this could be a wild goose chase, but it’s the best lead I have at the moment.”
As the man nears the ground, you stand united at the gates of the “town hall”, 6 hero’s and one crazy old man who managed herd 10,000 people into a castle in minutes. Suddenly, another detail of the man is clear. His robe is slashed open in a long, jagged cut, and gold blood streams from his chest, burning the land as it falls before him. He finally crashes into the ground with a thunderous explosion of dirt and debris. All is quit for about thirty seconds until the shockwave reaches you. Then, the sound barrier breaks, and every pane of glass in the city of thousands shatters and falls to the ground, and the less sturdy residences explode.
Korath's frown deepens as he looks to the others, nodding. "We need answers, and if this 'tall scary man' is involved, it’s worth checking out. When this dust settles, we go."
If it settles.
As the impact hits, Korath braces himself instinctively, lowering his center of gravity and planting his feet firmly against the trembling ground. His shield comes up reflexively, though it does little to protect him from the sheer force of the shockwave that crashes into him.
The roar of shattering glass and crumbling buildings fills his ears, and he grits his teeth, fighting to stay upright as the ground shifts beneath him. His muscles strain against the force, every fiber of his being focused on remaining steady in the face of the chaos.
((OOC my apologies, I completely missed that you were talking with the little girl, I was running on the assumption that she was alone in the street.))
Has the mountain of a man hits the ground Rich will glance around for steps a low wall here at the town hall and will lay flat on the ground behind it, covering my head and wait for the wave to hit.
The dust and wind come first - filled with millions of small crystals and shards of rocks that abrade Zinlynn's skin like a woodworker's rasp. A moment later comes the force - the concussive power of air compressed and shot out in waves. And then the air rushes back to fill the vacuum formed by the heat and impact of the god-man, forming a giant cloud that shoots back up to the heavens and spreads ash and debris for miles.
It was the initial shock wave that blew the half-elf girl off her feet, and the ground rumbles nearly swallowed her. But somehow, whether through sheer luck or some supernatural twist, Zinlynn survives being out in the open. Bloodied and bruised, she stands and brushes off the fine coat of dirt and debris before shrugging her shoulders. "Well, I guess the gods won't even see fit to let me die. So be it. I will be their harbinger, if that's what must be done." She heads to the place where the creature fell, eventually joining the others following behind her.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

I watch the immense man fall and somewhere deep inside me I feel almost a phantom pain as his impact shudders the land. I try to stand my ground as the shockwave strikes. (Athletics+1)18. I cover my face as glass shatters all about us. Those standing outside seem to be splitting in two directions, trying to find a temple or going to the impact point, but I have duties to attend first. I step into the town hall and shout aloud. "Is anyone hurt badly? I am a healer by training and a druid of the Golden Oak Grove. I can help."

Before coming in the hall, I heard the child speak of a 'tall scary man in a temple', which my be a worthwhile clue to follow up on after the impending doom. When the impact is heard, I move to the far side of the hall, behind a rather fat human. Hopefully I can hide in his wake as the shockwave hits. (Athletics+3)13. I pick myself up afterwards while hearing some druid yammering on about healing. I look around and see people moving in two directions, towards the fallen man and towards the Gods Quarter. I follow the group heading to search out our mysterious scary man in a temple.
The impact send tremors throughout the city. I brace myself in the door frame and get ready to withstand the incoming forces (Athletics 16 mentioned previously). People seem eager to get moving once the worst has passed. I reach out to stop those that I recognize as the ones organizing the civilians. "We should stick together. Who knows what danger will come of this, or even worse, what danger caused this. I would hear your opinions, do you think we should go to the impact site, or seek out the TSM (tall scary man) in the Temple?
(Perception 5 so this is redacted) Earlier I saw the half-elf maiden running towards where the impact was. Perhaps we should go check on her as well."
"I think everyone in here will be safe for now, I vote we investigate the impact site." Aymar says confidently, but as people turn their attention towards him, he shrinks back a bit and quietly says "or whatever guys think, but uhh yeah, sticking together seems like a good idea."
Korath is torn for a moment as he tries to decide where to go first, but just moment. "I agree. We should head to the impact sight and see if the Fallen poses a further threat first. That burning blood doesn't bode well, and for all we know it could be alive and angry."
Rich finally stands, brushing himself off while surveying the area. He spots the half orc and the elf that were helping and approaches. Thank you both for your help, you saved many today. I overheard you say you're going to the landing site, I'd like to go with if you don't mind. Might be a good idea to scout it out and make a report.
Norb had just reached the area where everyone else had run to when he sees a group of them charge out after the fallen man from the sky. He huffs, turns around and begins the saunter after them mumbling and grumbling
