The injured goblin falls down as a large gash opens on its chest, spelling its doom.
The final goblin alive looks around and, seeing that all his companions have fallen, begins to scurry back through the brush on a seemingly commonly-used thin path through it, ending the combat.
Seraphine watches as the last goblin flees into the brush, her sword still raised as the adrenaline from the fight courses through her veins. She glances around at her companions, taking a moment to assess their condition before lowering her weapon.
"Everyone alright?" she asks and steps forward, wiping her blade clean on a piece of cloth before sheathing it. "That one’s making a run for it. Do we let him go, or follow the trail?"
Marcus sheaths his handaxe and, reaching up to his shoulder, snaps off the shaft of the arrow impaled there with a small grunt of pain. As his more animalistic features fade back to normal, the gash across his arm thins to a small red line, though the arrowhead on the other side remains stuck. "These horses belonged to Gundren and Sildar, and the only tracks I can find lead down that trail." He pauses for a moment, before adding, "There's almost definitely going to be traps if we go after them."
"If those are the only tracks, we can't be sure if Gundren and Sildar got away or were captured." Seraphine replies, worry evident in her voice. She steps over to Marcus and uses Lay on Hands (restoring 4 HP).
She glances at the path and then back at the group. "We can take it slow, check for traps along the way, and use the brush for cover where we can."
"First we should be doin killin or catching that damned thing before it gets away! Last thing we want is fer to bring the entire tribe down on us." Brungir says as he he slams another bolt into his crossbow, slowly picking up speed to see if he can move quickly enough to get a shot off on the fleeing goblin.
The goblin is within range of Brungir's crossbow as it continues to race down the path, frequently glancing behind to check whether it is being followed.
Marcus winces as the arrowhead exits his shoulder, and seeing Brungir go rushing by, shouts, "Slow down, dwarf! If we follow this path, the last thing we need to do is rush into it recklessly!" He turns to Seraphine and says, "Thankyou," then addresses the others. "I suppose I can't repay Gundren his favor if he's dead. What do you all think? Take it slow, look for our patron and his guard?"

"Not rushin into anything. Just tryin to save us even more trouble!" Brungir yells back at Marcus as he raises his crossbow and fires toward the fleeing goblin.
The goblin stumbles over as the bolt crashes through its leg, dealing a devastating blow. As it struggles to hobble onwards, it screams Bree-yark!
Treela:
Through your impressive knowledge of the languages of the Realms and beyond, you recognise the goblin's exclamation as meaning 'I surrender!' in Common.
With a grim sigh, Seraphine lowers her weapon slightly, turning to Marcus and the others. "Looks like we’ve got our answer," she says, her voice calm but tense. "It’s surrendering. We don’t need to kill it—at least, not yet."
She strides over to the goblin and Treela. "You’re not going anywhere,"she says firmly, pointing her sword at its chest. Her voice takes on a sharp, commanding tone. "We need answers, and you’re going to give them to us. Tell us what your tribe wants with Gundren and Sildar, then lead us there fast--avoiding the traps."
Eek! No hurty! Big boss sent message. Dark Spider pay us lot of gold to ambush dwarf. Maybe this Gundren? Me doesn't know. Took him to the King and all his stuff. The other guy is here. Some coldy guy. Me don't know no more. No hurty me! The goblin cowers back as your side near his chest and you see his cruel heart pump inside faster every second.
OOC: He's going to speak in Common from now on, mostly because I couldn't find a Goblin language translator! Bree-yark is in the MM though. He only knows basic Common though and his grammar isn't accurate.
Seraphine takes a step back, lowering her sword but keeping it ready just in case. Looking to the others, she raises an eyebrow. "Does anyone know what...any of that means? A Dark Spider? Cold guy? I’ve never heard of them before." She's always been one for action rather than book-learning.
"Could be Sildar. He was supposed to be with Gundren. Family name is Hallwinter, winter is cold." Marcus thinks for a moment. "If Sildar is here, we ought to go get him. He's a solid fighter, I've worked a couple of jobs with him, and he might know more about what happened to Gundren." He steps up to the goblin, not bothering to draw a weapon as Seraphine had, but making the threat apparent in his voice. "You're going to take us to the coldy guy. No traps. No warning your friends. Or we're going to kill you like we did these other guys. Got it?" (intimidation nat 20 for a 25).
Yes! Um.. yes. Yes. I can do dat! The goblin scrambles to his feet and begins walking down the path. After about 10 minutes of trampling through the underbrush, he grinds to a halt. Careful if no hurty you want. Scare here. Hangy and swingy.

Seraphine manages to focus this time, striking the goblin in front of her with a heavy blow. (To hit: nat 20+5, Damage: 11).

Upon closer inspection of the path, you notice a dozen goblin tracks and signs of two human-sized bodies being hauled away from the ambush site.
OOC: Do you follow the path?

Treela:
Treela was about to finish it off, but instead turns to the others and says, "This individual is capitulating."
She then lands and asks Marcus, "Might you lower your posture so that I may extract the remainder of the arrow?"
Assuming he does so, Medicine 24
She'll then go over to treat the goblin, not to heal it, but so it doesn't bleed to death before she can question it.

Obviously, she's not putting in as much effort here...
Treela manages to carefully extract the arrow from Marcus' arm and temporarily halt the goblin's bleeding as it squeals in pain. No kill me!
