Liam the Weak: Level 4 Human Fighter - Trying to fight against his other personality, and constantly losing.
Aodh: Level 20 Half-Elf Cleric of Life - Not really. It's a strange being that had possessed and broke down a level 20 Cleric of Life Domain, gaining his knowledge and power.
"*****": Level 1 Tiefling Sorcerer - Her family is dead, and her will is broken. She follows orders so that those that command her will allow her to die.
The threshold of the forest; the boundary of life and death. Eudith clutches her amulet of health, knowing that it's magic is all that is keeping her from fainting on the spot. "Oh, travelers." She clumsily bows slightly. "What brings you here to the forest of the Dusk Queen?"
Rengar spends some time circling the edge of the forest, while the others in this group set up camp. He keeps an eye out for tracks, ensuring nothing nasty is travelling nearby, or if it has... that it’s long gone now.
He returns afterwards with numerous small game after foraging for around an hour or so while setting up a perimeter.
”These spoils of the hunt should serve us well.” He says to the group.
“Rumours? They may very well be true.” Rengar growls, while simultaneously gutting a rabbit and scanning the area. His gaze lands on Anita. “Things in this forest haven’t been... Normal of late. I was hoping some of you may have some information.”
"Nothing solid. Just the usual story: a mirror, an evil queen. Mirror explodes and pieces of it land somewhere out there," she motions to the trees. "Should be a hell of a thing, finding them."
A dwarf stands a little away from the group, appearing nervous around so many other people. Desarian has long brown hair and a full, bushy beard, wearing clothing and armor made of animal skins.
Now sitting at the fire, Eudith ponders what Anora has said. She has heard of this queen before, and doesn't particularly want to get caught up in the kind of dark magic where death is the least of your concerns. Still, she is curious; what powers might this magic mirror hold, even shattered?
She accepts a bit of barely-cooked rabbit from Rengar, managing to get it down with slight nausea; her amulet stops her from gagging outright.
Noticing the dwarf off in the outskirts of the circle, Eudith waves to Desarian. "Oyy! Come join the party!"
Desarian hesitantly walks forward and joins the others to sit beside the fire. He looks to Anora as she asks her question. "Bad..." he says in a rough voice, then starts coughing. "Bad things," he finishes, then falls silent for a moment. "Deaths." He stares into the fire.
Rengar nods in agreement with Desarin slowly while over-cooking another small vermin over the fire.
"It appears the traditional natural balance of nature is out of equilibrium." Rengar pauses for a moment, looking to the tree line to their left. He looks back toward the group with his one good eye. "... These forests harbour much dark within them." His ears prick back to the direction he was just looking in before an audible, metallic *SNAP* can be heard, followed by a high pitched "SCREEE!"
Rengar grins while taking the meal off the fire, passing it to whoever doesn't have one yet and saunters off into the woods. Shortly after, he returns with a steel trap in one hand and a small creature skewered on the end of his long, broad bladed scimitar.
The small dragonlike fellow in the full plate armor would gather up all the courage he could muster and walked over to the fire and looks at the group gathered around it. "E-excuse me, but is this the forest of the Dusk Queen? I am um... Asking for a friend." His whole demeanor just screamed 'Please don't kill me.' Vigs only seemed to just barely not be shaking in his armor.
"Come join us at the fire, little one; you're no more strange than half the things you'll find in these woods." Eudith laughs. She tends to laugh at her not-jokes.
"Tell me about this 'friend' of yours, why does he seek the Dusk Queen's forest?"
Anora catches the clerics eye, if only to show she appreciated the joke. She thinks on what the dwarf and Tabaxi told her, and starts to think on what it would be to fight whatever is responsible for the condition of the forest. When the little newcomer comes up, she kneels a bit and says,
"It is indeed. Are you looking for people to go in with you?"
Vigs would relax and lets out a held breath. "Well, he is an apprentice at the Dimshire Clock Guild and wants to see if pieces of the Dusk Queens mirror could power a device like the guild makes, or if it would at least look pretty as a decoration on it." Vigs would turn to Anora. "If you all are offering, I would not turn down assistance." He would set his pack down with a clunk and goes about removing his helmet, smiling as he does.
Before you is a dark forest with trees rising as much as a hundred feet into the air. Foreboding and Sorrow seem to emanate from within. Occasionally, shadowy creatures, only glimpsed, move among the trees. Slow, plaintive howls echo among the branches as a cool wind begins to blow, as if whispering barely discernible words...
"She has returned...She has returned...She has returned..."
The trees directly before you slowly part, forming a natural opening that leads into the shadowy woods beyond...

"CoS" Rumble- Tabaxi Shadow Monk
Anora's eyes just follow the Tabaxi as he brings the food back and smirks. She turns to the woman holding her symbol and says,
"To answer your question, I was curious about the stories I'd heard of this place, and wanted to see for myself if they were true."
“Rumours? They may very well be true.” Rengar growls, while simultaneously gutting a rabbit and scanning the area. His gaze lands on Anita. “Things in this forest haven’t been... Normal of late. I was hoping some of you may have some information.”

Desarian hesitantly walks forward and joins the others to sit beside the fire. He looks to Anora as she asks her question. "Bad..." he says in a rough voice, then starts coughing. "Bad things," he finishes, then falls silent for a moment. "Deaths." He stares into the fire.
"There's worse things than death, especially around here." Eudith laughs. "...I guess that's not particularly funny, huh."
Rengar nods in agreement with Desarin slowly while over-cooking another small vermin over the fire.
