Hi! I'm looking for 4-5 players for 3rd level characters. All content is OK, just run it by me first via DM or message for confirmation first. I will be using a mix of 2014 & 2024 stat blocks, but no images or maps (as the battlefields I made are fairly simple rooms, an theatre of the mind is awesome). This is meant to be a short adventure, but if I feel like writing more and everyone is up for it, then I'll gladly do more. All players should reply at least once per day. For OOC purposes, I will create a group DM.
When applying, please provide the following:

Name- Bonita Class/Subclass- Sorcerer Draconic Race- Water Genasi Background- Acolyte Ability Scores + Rolling Method- ( STR: 10, DEX: 15, CON: 11, INT: 11, WIS: 10, CHA: 17 ) - Point Buy Backstory- Bonita grew up in a small mixed settlement of Genasi, Sea Elves and Locathah on the edge of a deep chasm in the southern ocean, there were always rumours that a great drake lived somewhere in the depths below but Bonita had never seen them......though when the bronze scales along her limbs became more noticeable as she grew she began to suspect that her mother, Priestess of Sashelas, had...........
She had always pushed out further from the reef than her compatriots and one day when a merchant vessel passed she swam to it, climbed aboard and hasn't looked back yet..... A reason why your character might be sailing- Adventure. Anything else I might need to know- Bonita is more than a little naive....and a little too cocky.
Backstory: Tidebreaker grew up in the depths of the ocean where the currents shaped both the land and the lives of his people. He was always stronger than others in his tribe, a natural force who felt at one with the sea itself. He trained as a warrior from a young age, learning how to ride the currents, wrestle with predators of the deep, and channel the raw fury of the storms above. He was drawn to the storms that passed over the water, feeling a primal connection to the chaos and power of the tempest.
When his village was attacked by sahuagin raiders, Tidebreaker fought them off with ferocious strength. However, his raw power wasn't enough to prevent the loss of many, including his closest friend. Vowing to grow stronger and defend his people, he took to the surface world, where he could hone his abilities and learn from new encounters.
A reason why your character might be sailing: Tidebreaker signed up as a sailor on a surface ship to better understand the connection between the storms and his abilities as a Storm Herald. He seeks out powerful weather phenomena and sea creatures, believing that by conquering these forces, he can return to his people as their true protector.
Anything else I might need to know: Tidebreaker is passionate, driven by the memory of his fallen friend, Grouper. He has a deep connection to the sea and the storms, viewing them as both a source of power and a teacher. He’s quick to anger in battle, letting his rage guide him, but is generally calm and contemplative outside of combat.
Backstory: Wilry grew up in a small fishing village with his family. While village life was pleasant, he always felt the call of the deep ocean, and when he became of age gained charter on a passing sailboat. The crew quickly found that Wil was handy with a weapon and knew much of the monstrous sea life living in the depths. He became a well known hunter and is prized on sailing boats heading into dangerous waters.
A reason why your character might be sailing: It's Wil's job to be on a boat. He would be hired by the captain to keep the boat safe from monstrous sea life.
Fynn grew up in a coastal town, the son of a fisherman and a scholar. From his mother, he inherited a love for the sea and a natural aptitude for magic, while his father taught him the ways of the ocean. Fynn spent his childhood exploring the shoreline, picking up fishing and sailing skills, but his curiosity often led his to trouble.
As a teenager, he found a hidden talent for sleight of hand, impressing the local children with his tricks and eventually catching the attention of a band of thieves. He briefly fell in with them but left when their plans turned violent. Seeking to forge his own path, he trained as a rogue, using his dexterity and magic to outsmart his foes rather than confront them directly.
Reason for Sailing
Fynn has taken to the seas to escape the remnants of his troubled past. With the thrill of adventure calling to him, he aims to seek treasure and uncover forgotten knowledge hidden in ancient shipwrecks. His goal is to learn powerful spells and eventually return to his hometown as a hero, using his skills to protect the people he loves. The vast ocean also serves as a chance for his to connect with his sea heritage and perhaps his own destiny.

Backstory: Harn was born to a line of dragonborn descended from the great bronze dragon Stormbreaker (hence the clan name). This dragon was a benevolent dragon, helping merchant ships navigate around storms, and sometimes bringing a storm of vengeance down on pirates (or so the stories say). As such, Harn decided to follow (to the best of his ability) the path of his ancestor and so dedicated his life to the sea. Nature saw what he was doing, and so granted him some more power, that he could harness the magic within the sea and use it to protect the ships he was working on. Sometimes he provided wind for sails, and other times he would provide healing for those on his ship. If it came to it, he could also cause significant damage to attacking ships, but that was always a last resort.
A reason why your character might be sailing: See above backstory. He has sailed for a large amount of his life, and enjoys it.
Anything else I might need to know: I have just used 2024 content for this. Trying it out as much as I can. Also, I have taken the gold options from starting equipment and using that for equipment. https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/134541061/wo5IRH
The ocean blue, a place where creatures and men alike come in search of countless treasures some material, others not. Regardless of whether you've come seeking adventure, strength, enjoyment, or you're here because of a job, you've decided to travel the ocean blue despite the dangers and terrors it holds, and one night, that proves to be a deadly mistake.
We start our journey in a terrible storm, one by the likes none of you have seen. Water floods the boats, and as you attempt to tame your bucking vessel under the crushing weight of the storm, you catch sight of other people attempting to do the same. The waves toss and turn as the boats threaten to shatter and break when suddenly your vessels crash into one another's, causing the boats to capsize. Wood splinters everywhere and people are tosses left and right into the waves.
What do you do?

I'm taking a break to focus on IRL stuff. Please don't think bad of me. I'm terribly sorry for any inconveniences this hiatus of mine brings about.
As the wind howls and the waves threaten to swallow them whole, Tidebreaker moves with the flow of the sea, his muscular form cutting through the spray like a predator in its element. He feels the primal pull of the storm, that raw energy stirring the storm herald within him, but it’s not enough. The boat groans under the pressure, the wood cracking as two ships collide with a thunderous crash, splintering into debris.
Tidebreaker is thrown into the churning waters, but panic doesn’t grip him—this is his true home. His body adjusts to the cold embrace of the sea, and he steadies himself amid the wreckage, his thoughts racing to those around him. Even now, with the storm trying to pull them all to their doom, Tidebreaker cannot forget his vow—to never again let others suffer as he failed to save Grouper. His fists tighten as he swims swiftly, searching the wreckage for survivors, the fury of the storm channeling through him.
Perception to look for people: 9, Athletics to help anyone struggling to stay afloat: 7
Tidebreaker: As the waves toss and turn, you fail to catch a glimpse of anyone else who may have fallen into the sea after the crash. Heck, it's taking everything you have to stay afloat, so even if you did, you wouldn't be able to help them.

Frustration boils inside Tidebreaker as the swirling darkness of the storm and crashing waves obscure his vision. With a primal blgulp, he activates his rage, feeling the storm within him echo the one thrashing around him. He twists his body, using his strength and skill to propel himself through the water, then kicks off from a current, trying to launch himself high into the air, breaching the surface. (Acrobatics 18)
If successful: For a brief moment, Tidebreaker is suspended above the chaos, his muscular form illuminated by a flash of lightning. His black eyes scan the shattered sea below, searching desperately. His perception sharpens in his rage-fueled clarity, the adrenaline narrowing his focus as he looks for movement—anything to indicate where the others have been swept. (Perception 19)
Harn is about to use magic to remove the water coming onto the boat, when the impact throws him overboard and capsizes the boat. He attempts to swim back to the boat to see if he can find enough things floating to help save other people. Athletics (for swimming) 17(I rolled acrobatics by accident on the sheet, my athletics modifier is +0 instead of +5), perception 8.
Tidebreaker: (Holy crap, nice rolls) You are successful as you launch yourself up, your eyes scanning over the tossing seas for any survivors. You spot an elf attempting to use magic to keep his ship together, as well as a genasi, dragonborn, and a halfling (presumably in the water? Idk since their players haven't responded yet...). You also notice (due to your amazing perception roll) another ship approaching in the distance. It's much larger than the vessels you and the other victims were using, and you can hear faint shouting coming from the boat, presumably by the ship's captain.
