Doozey nodded sagely in agreement to Utar after having spared the Alces crew a polite wave. Though he hadn't held out much hope of it being necessarily caught by the crew given his stature and lack of a rambunctious tundra mastiff to act as either stool or instigator. For a moment he scans the port for any other familiar faces roaming the area. But knowing time to be of the essence, he soon turned to Branden and simply gestured for the men to 'lead on'.

"Very well," Branden replies to Utar's comment before looking over his shoulder instinctively to try and see at whom Doozey is waving. With a shrug, he then indeed leads on. The group hops on the contracted barge, although its operator seems mostly disinterested. It is clear the human man sees this as as a chance at a quick coin at time his services are not highly demanded. He is shirtless but wears a vest, and his pants are quite loose. He offers only grunts as conversation.
As you depart the port area and then the city, you are met with a thousand stares. People with little to do at the moment let curiosity take over. Some ask you if you are on a mission to bring supplies into town. Others offer to pay you twice as much as whatever provisions you bring might be worth. Others still seem a bit irritated that they don't know what you are doing. Gossip abounds, especially considering that CRAP has gained some notoriety in town.
During the many-hours-long trip you spot a group of giant toads hanging out by the river. They seem to have fed recently, judging by their girth and general apathy toward you and the barge. Despite the general indication that the beasts will simply let you pass by untroubled, Branden thinks out loud: "They could become quite the meal for the folks back in town. Are any of you hunters?"
Raise laughs slowly. "Oh yes I am the mighty hunter, aren't I Sebastian. Still laughing and leaning on his staff he moves towards the front of the barge
Doozey, unlike Raist, looked thoughtfully at the beast while raising a hand. Could this group be the same from the swamp? Unlikely. But having experienced plenty of strangeness in his long career, the stoutling couldn't quite dismiss the possibility outright. However, it's only after his own stomach began to growl it is then he finally looks up Utar and snaps his fingers a few times to grab his attention. He then made a series of gesture that involved poking his own forehead, then point to his mouth, then point over to the barge captain, and then finally gestures back over to the toads.
IF the message is gets across well but Utar asks if Doozey personally WANTED to hunt the toads, that's when the stoutling waggled his hands in a 'so-so' gesture, before gesturing towards the party at large.
Suddenly pulled away from gazing out at the riverbanks, Utar focuses his attention on Doozey.
"You want to eat something... No, you want to eat the barge captain? That's not right either. You want to pull the barge closer to the toads? You might need to use the cards again, buddy."
Branden laughs along with Raist: "Ha! I am sure you can tell I am no hunter either. Perhaps some of the others could help then?" The merchant turns to face Doozey just as the halfling begins to gesture and hum at Utar. Unable to hold another laugh following Utar's interpretation, Branden takes a stab at it himself: "I think he may be suggesting that we complete the hunt and send the fresh toad meat back to town with our new friend barge-operator here."Before looking at Doozey again for confirmation, Branden turns to the barge-operator: "What say you? I know you just came across a hefty amount of coin, as it used to be mine. From one business man to another, shall we make a deal? My friends here could get some fresh meat and sell it to you. All you have to do is bring it back to Phlan, sell it for a bit of profit, and be known as the hero who brought extra provisions from the wild!"
As convincing as Branden might be, his main argument hangs on CRAP's decision to acquire the fresh toad meat.
(OOC: If you are willing to go with Branden's interpretation of Doozey's idea, then I'll ask for a volunteer to roll a persuasion check. Branden is a merchant and quite adept at this sort of stuff, so his words above will count as a help action.)

Doozey sighed and facepalm at first. But with Branden at least picking up on things, the stoutling snapped his fingers, pointed at Braden, and then gave the man a sharp nod of approval. He went on to break out the cards again while the others talked, shuffled them about, then after some on the spot editing eagerly showed the barge operator the card, which read:
'There's More important-lythings to consider odds are you'll draw more attention to your business your way! Perhaps even another hunter or two to help you keep the hustle going for the next days or take credit for the hunt itself by espousing your skill and potential protection you can provide customers.
With Branden and Doozey's encouragement, and Neya's, Utar's, and Raist's agreement, the bargeman shows that he is indeed human and reacts to all the possibilities show to him at this moment with a smile. "I can be a hero... and make some coin too." He pulls a rolled tarp from his supplies in preparation for the eventual needed protection of the acquired meat.
CRAP turns to look at their lazy prey. Despite being aware of your presence, the giant toads are expecting no trouble. They are not used to being hunted.
(OOC: I usually roll initiative to keep things moving along but I like to ask you to roll initiative yourselves every now and then depending on the fight. Since this is the first time we are rolling initiative under 2024 rules and surprise is coming into play (disadvantage to the toads), I figured I'd ask you to roll your own this time around. So please, go ahead! In the spoiler below, I'll only roll for the toads. The bargeman and Branden are not participating in this fight unless circumstances call for it.)
Feeling that the her Splashbow may risk ruining the meat of the toads, she instead elects to vault over the boxes in the middle, and run and jump off of the barge, towards the shoreline (using new, free Step of the Wind to go to B-16, if needed) and strikes at the nearby toad (at B-15).

Suddenly enlightened, Utar gives the matter some thought.
"Neya makes a strong point. If there's a market for giant toad, then we could fill that niche, assuming we don't get eaten in the process."
"And are bargeman can claim its some other meat if sales demand"
