Delimbiyra lets out a resigned sigh as Doli moves to smack the frozen man on the head. “Whatever’s got him, it’s beyond our skill to fix,”he mutters, shaking his head. Stepping away, he lets the others ponder the spell while he begins to survey the area with a practiced eye. Moving around the perimeter of the clearing, Delimbiyra studies the ground for any signs of a struggle or evidence of other recent activity. His gaze returns to the figure’s attire— is it simple, or rugged clothing, is it practical or armored? Does he look like he might have been a guard or perhaps a hunter, judging by his build and gear?
Delimbiyra crouches, examining the dirt and fallen leaves for any footprints beyond their own, hoping to uncover where this unfortunate man came from—and, perhaps, what led him here in the first place.
Doli hits them, and you can see their eyes flash with pain as it connects. But then they go back as they were before. They clearly felt it, but it seems as though they almost didn't register that they felt it.
There are multiple footprints that you see. The footprints for this man seem to come from the same way you did and just stop. You also see more of the large claw marks on trees and the floor around you, and further footprints heading forward.
maybe he has been affected by some magical poison, like a sort of paralysis. I know that there is magic that could do this sorta thing, but there is nobody around here so its either something else or we are about to be punching way over our weight class, if you know what i mean.
While Doli is saying all of this he is just poking the guy looking for any reaction. At one point he pulls out a feather a moves it around his nose to get him to sneeze. At another point while talking he tries tickling the guy. While prodding he is also going to try to inspect him to get a rough estimate how long this guy has been here. does he look like he has eaten or drunk any water recently, has he slept recently, etc.
He looks in fine health. The air is cold and based on the colour of his lips, he must have been here about an hour. It is almost like he is blind to all external stimuli though. His body responds to them, but his mind does not.
Well good news is this, he has only been here for a bit, and if we are to believe the footprints that should mean we aren't too far behind. This spell also shouldn't last too long and will wear off soon. I think our best bet is to keep following the trail and we can come back later, unless any of you magic fellas can do anything.
Delimbiyra straightens, watching Doli’s efforts to get a reaction from the man. “Seems like he’s just… locked away from us, like his mind is shut off to the world.” He looks to Zephyrion and Gym. “Any chance either of you has some way to detect magic or tell if something’s keeping him in this state? If it’s a spell, maybe it’ll wear off soon, but if not…” Delimbiyra shakes his head, glancing toward the trail of footprints that continue forward. “I’m out of ideas, but these tracks seem fresh. Best we keep following them if we want answers. We can double back later, maybe catch him in his senses. For now, it’s our only lead.”
Delimbiyra nods, grateful for Gym’s readiness to bring the man along. "Alright, stay close. Let’s see where this path leads.” He steps ahead, eyes trained on the tracks in the dirt, carefully following the signs of recent movement. His gaze flicks between the faint claw marks and footprints, ever watchful for any sign of danger or ambush with his crossbow ready to release (though not loaded). Moving at a steady pace as stealthy as he can, he guides the party deeper into the misty forest, alert to every subtle sound and shadow, determined to uncover whatever lies at the end of this trail.
The claw marks are really hard to follow. Something is not quite natural about them, It is hard to place though.
The other footprints are easy enough to follow. They seem to be leading you in circles though, and you end up back at your original campsite, except this time the tracks you followed originally are not there. There are tracks in a different direction though. Something is really feeling off here.
Delimbiyra’s brow furrows as they return to their original campsite, an unsettling realization settling over him. “Something’s definitely off here,” he murmurs, scanning the newly appeared tracks. “We’ve been led in circles, or worse, someone—or something—is playing with us.”
He turns his attention to the claw marks with a focused eye, crouching down to inspect them closely. His fingers trace the edges of the gouges in the ground, trying to determine if the creature that left these was four-legged or two. The shape and spacing of the marks hint at something unnatural, and he considers whether this creature might fly as much as how big it might be (Nature? 12). “Whatever made these marks… it’s not easy to pin down,” he says, glancing at the others. He stands, eyes scanning the forest edge. “Keep your wits about you. If it’s hunting us, it could be watching right now.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
hmmmm... I will be right back. Doli begins to scale a tree (using his climbing speed) he gets as high as he can while still being in eyesight of the party, and will scan both the forest as well as the sky for any movement.
Doli hops down from the tree. Me neither. maybe we should make our way back to where we found this guy and look for some more clues? maybe there was another set of footprints we missed.

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Zeph wonders if the creature that made these foot prints also caused his paralysis.
He stands in front of the person. "If you can hear me, blink once."

No reaction.

Zeph keeps an eye out and continues forward with the party.

Gym sets the still man down, or stands him back up, cast See Invisibility and begins to look around...
Delimbiyra, you go to feel the claw marks and your fingers find no disturbed ground. These claw marks are another illusion.
Doli sees no unexpected movement. Just a few birds and other forest creatures.
Gym you don't see anything

I spot nothing either visible or invisible around us, what sort of game is this and who's playing it on us?

aye. picks our friend up and follows along
