I am looking for four new or newer players that would be interested in a short adventure with a first time DM. We'll be starting in Shadowdale, feel free to Google it for more info. I will be using the 2024 rules for this session. So, if it doesn't appear in the 2024 PHB or of the 2024 Free Rules then it shouldn't appear on your character sheet. For stats you can either choose standard array or the point buy method. Oh, and first level characters please.
Lastly, I expect daily participation, meaning please post once a day at the least. I will move game play at a pace dictated by player postings. I will be using party Initiative, meaning I will roll initiative within the thread for both monsters and party. Combat will flow from there.
This will be a DND Beyond PBP adventure, I would like to try to use the maps feature found here also, if I can figure it out.

What brings him to the Old Skull Inn: Sylvantras is a ranger and guide that makes his home in the forest southeast of Shadowdale. He finds himself in town to resupply the few provisions that he can not make, hunt, or forage for himself and has chosen to stay the evening in the Old Skull Inn to enjoy the company of others for a bit and perhaps pick up on any news/rumors new to the region.

Raised in a mountainous Goliath tribe, Skarn was taught to harness the strength of his ancestry and the ember-like spark within his bloodline. His people held a longstanding belief that they descended from the mighty Fire Giants, and Skarn was one of the few able to exhibit physical resilience beyond the ordinary Goliath, able to endure searing heat and the harshest elements.
Recently, his tribe’s elders received visions of Shadowdale and whispered rumors of a dark disturbance looming over the town. Determined to prove his strength and loyalty, Skarn set off to investigate and help protect the region, viewing it as both a challenge and a calling. His journey led him to the **Old Skull Inn**—the perfect place to gather information, find allies, and perhaps even discover the source of his tribe’s visions.
Appearance: Skarn stands over seven feet tall with ashen-gray skin mottled with orange-red marks reminiscent of cooling magma. His fiery, amber eyes and crimson-streaked hair emphasize his connection to his Fire Giant ancestry. A greataxe, passed down through his lineage, rests at his back, with flame-like engravings running along its blade. Motivation for Visiting the Old Skull Inn: Skarn arrived at the **Old Skull Inn** following the faint traces of a dark energy that aligns with his elders' visions. He seeks those familiar with Shadowdale’s secrets and is open to joining forces with like-minded adventurers. The inn seemed like a good starting point to hear rumors and stories of what lurks beyond Shadowdale’s quiet facade.

Norgan’s great-grandmother, his only guardian when he was young, has been having problems keeping her property safe. She lives in near the outskirts of Shadowdale. So on his way to visit his great-grandmother, Norgan thought he would stop to get a drink and maybe a job.
