[[ Probably through one of the holes in the wall. As for the side, think it makes sense for Skipper to come from the same general area as where the party is right now, hopefully can let Chipper see through his eyes for a little bit before he's too far. ]]
From the owl's eyes you can see it fly through one of the many arrow slits. You can see a stone altar standing in the middle of the room, covered with bloodstained black cloth. Golden ritual implements—a chalice, a knife, and a censer—are carefully arranged on top of the altar. Two archways to the south are covered with heavy curtains. There are three goblins in the room. They all wear filthy robes and are kneeling in front of the altar, praying. They don't seem to notice Skipper's arrival.
“Yes. Zantorin, the son of the Great Guide. In my vision, I saw you—the drow, the man with steel sneak, and...” Her words trail off as the last adventurer steps forward. His presence is as perplexing to her as the drow had been. (What is this... monkey-man?) Amelia can’t even identify his species. Still, as a follower of Corellon Larethian, the god of magic and art, she knows she should welcome a skilled spellcaster into her ranks. So, with composed grace, Amelia greets the Hadozee politely.
@All While the adventurers wait for a report from the familiar, the elven cleric suggests a plan. “About the arrow slit... I can be a decoy, distract the goblins while you ambush them through the hole in the wall. As you can see,” Amelia says, arching her chest proudly. “I’m quite skilled at catching eyes and attention.”
That is a good plan, but let’s only make you the decoy if absolutely needed. Why don’t we try sneaking up to it first since they seem distracted. Time may be urgent though if they are casting some kind of ritual. As brutish as it sounds.. I think we just charge ahead and stop whatever they are doing. I don’t trust those goblins.
The arrow slits are about 8 inches wide, so you could fire projectiles through the limited angles, but it'd be near impossible to get through without something like Misty Step. Familiars/steel defenders are able to easily go through.
[[ With the walls, are they climbable without special equipment? Not expecting to directly assault an arrow slit, but wondering. ]]
Chipper nods in thought at Amelia's thought of offering herself as a distraction, "Certainly one possibly. Though I concur with Garrick's sentiments." He's quite impressed with her willingness to put herself in harm's way with strangers she just met and has a friendly look of admiration for her courage. "Perhaps we could put our heads together on whether it's a imminent ritual or just daily prayers?"
"I can provide light," Kessintra speaks up, hearing Amelia mention the rapidly approaching nightfall, "It is part of my foul drow magic." She sounds distracted though; the mention of a ritual sets her on edge.
"Agreed. We should move in and stop them. It is...worrisome." She speaks from experience, having witnessed many dark rituals performed in the Underdark. "If they've pacted with something, this may be more difficult than anticipated."
Yes the darkness is definitely worry-some. But if it comes to that, I can imbue up to 4 items with 5ft light, including arrow or bolt heads! That will help a little. If Kessintra has a spell then even better. To Amelia he says, I will gladly take the front line with you.
As far as getting in, I believe I am already prepared for this. He pats the rope at his waist. I have infused a rope with magic to make it a rope of climbing. It can knot itself and we can use it to climb up to 50 ft. If we need longer I’ll have to remove the knots so it’ll be harder to climb.
Before we head over there Garrick picks up stone off the ground and speaks into it. He performs magical tinkering turning it into a recording that he hands to Striker. (Off until striker taps it)
We can use this recording as a distraction before we attack. Striker will move with the device to the other side of the goblins, then when they turn towards it, we can strike them at their backs.
Whenever they start approaching the castle, Kessintra will enter stealth and cast dancing lights around those without darkvision as needed. It only creates dim light, but at least it is something and unlikely to be noticed by the enemy.

OOC - Is it dark enough that it wouldn’t already be dim light out? I think we just made up a bit about it being dark lol
Zan looks around, shakes his head in agreement with Amelia, draws his worn long sword, bright moonlight suddenly fills the space around him for 15 ft, then dim light extends for another 15 ft, readies his shield, I'm with you sister. He follows Amelia, staying by her side if possible.
Where will the owl enter? Through the front door? Looking for another entrance? Through an arrow slit? If so, which side of the castle?

Looking to the other 2, What do you think?

With talk of battle imminent he takes a moment to cause a brief shimmering around him that quickly fades as the mage armor takes effect.

“I suggest being the decoy because I want to drop a stone and see how many fish are hiding under the water... or underground, in this case.”
Amelia tilts her head like a curious bird.
“However, if these creatures are so absorbed in their foul prayers, I see no reason not to take advantage of it.”
She picks up her shield, kisses her amulet, and channels divine magic into her body. (Guidance)
“Either way, I’ll take the front line. Who will join me?”
@ Garrick and Zantorin
She glances over at the humans, a hint of amusement in her eyes.
“Oh, by the way… I’ve heard that you round-ears can’t see in the dark. Night is approaching fast. How do you plan to handle that?”

The stones have shifted around over time, with some further out than others. It'd be difficult to climb without gear, but it is feasible.
The praying doesn't seem like a special ritual, but the goblins seem very invested in it, as though it would give them power.

OOC - @DM how far up would we need to climb?
The first floor in its entirety is only about 20 ft. You should easily be able to make it up.

ooc: Yeah, I dunno lol. Depends how fast night came and if it's cloudy I guess.
It is dusk, so sunlight is gone and it's dark outside.

Does anyone have other preparations before we go over there? Garrick asks.

Amelia nods to the other adventurers.
"Now, we're ready. Chipper, keep an eye on the goblins. Report to us if anything happens."
She raises her shield, standing tall beside two human warriors. The Elf maiden moves toward the ruined castle as silent as she can manage.
