Hi, I'm going to run an adventure book, since I'm tired of murdering my brain by making lots of homebrew worlds and lore. This will be my first adventure book to DM from but the book seems good and easy enough to start with along with the sequel of 'Rise of Tiamat'. The campaign shall be XP based and will have another bond from the following table. Please post on here for recruitment and PM me for questions

Name: Dallen
Race: Half-Elf
Age:26
Class: Sorcerer
Alignment: CN
Background: Charlatan
Chosen Bond from Table: 6
Backstory: Being the grandchild of a famous dragonslayer, Dallen never hesitated to let people know that fact and was very content to spend his life coasting on that fact. Whenever he couldn't get what he wanted by name-dropping his famous grandfather, he made do with his magical talents and golden tongue. And for the majority of his life, that worked, as Dallen never struggled to pay for food and drink at whatever tavern he chose to visit. Until one day his boasting angered some less than savory fellows who told him about some cult and how they never forget. It might've been hard for him to concentrate on what they were saying while they were beating him half to death. Dallen managed to escape and since then he's been hiding in a boring little town called Greenest until everything blows over.

Xenophon: Topaz Dragonborn Fighter (ixi's Dragon of Icespire Peak)
Backstory: Reso's family were friends with clan of dwarves near the Spine of the World. At an early age he displayed a fascination with martial arts. One of the dwarves recommended to Reso he join a monastery his brother Hornett was a part - the Broken Flowers.
Reso journeyed to the monastery and learned under Hornett, who taught him the ways of the broken god Illmater. He also learned the importance of serving others, and fighting evil, but also discerning when it was time to fight an enemy.
After six years at the monastery, Hornett set Reso on a quest to find a sacred amulet as his final test. Reso left the monastery and searched Icewind Dale for the amulet. He returned with what he thought was the trinket, only to find his master passed away. Reso, understood why his master would send him away before his death but a part of him resented him for it.
Reso returned home to see his family, then felt the call of Illmater asking him to travel Faerun to help others until he needed him for a great mission. While he was home, he would have a strange sequence of nightmares of the world being destroyed by cold, choking fumes, lightning storms, waves of acid, and horrible fire. In the dream, he saw ten evil eyes glaring at him from the darkness. He felt a strange compulsion to travel to Greenest. He once more prayed to Illmater, who suggested the answer to the riddle of his dreams awaited him there.
Chosen Bond from Table: 3. Every five nights, you have a strange sequence of apocalyptic dreams. The world is destroyed by cold, choking fumes, lightning storms, waves of acid, and horrible fire. Each time, the dream ends with ten evil eyes glaring at you from the darkness. You feel a strange compulsion to travel to Greenest. Perhaps the answer to the riddle of your dreams awaits you there.
Backstory:
Raised as the servant/apprentice to a cruel, unforgiving master, Olgar delved into hidden knowledge as a way of escape. As he grew older, it became clear Narvus the Black would never truly teach him or let him go. His master died in a battle with a rival, and Olgar escaped with a tome of forgotten lore. His unguided studies drew him into contact with forces beyond his understanding and to survive, bound himself in a pact with one of them. He's spent several years now travelling around, sheltering with other scholars, doing odd bits of work. Now he's been stricken with dreams that have led him to the village of Greenest.

Background: Faction Agent (Cheval of the Order of the Gauntlet)
Chosen Bond from Table: Ontharr Frume, a crusading warrior and champion of good, is your friend and mentor. He has asked you to travel to Greenest in search of rumors of increasing dragon activity.
Backstory: Hailing from the Kingdom of Two Suns, Toremar DeFloresant was raised by a Priest of Lathander. Toremar grew quickly, and showed athletic prowess. He dreamt of joining the Companions, and found his zeal from his "father" in step with the devout faith of the Paladins of Elturgard. After a successful defense against an orc tribe against Elturel, Toremar was invited as a Cheval of the Order of the Gauntlet. Toremar knows he must adhere to the Creed Resolute, but secretly harbors that Lathander-A'tar is the One True God. He goes out to instill the inspiration of Light into others. In likelihood, the High Watcher of Elturgard thinks Toremar could use some world experience to temper his naivete and innocence; Toremar believes it's his calling to a greater purpose. Toremar was assigned to follow Ontharr Frume who Toremar quickly became attached to as a way to do good in the world. Toremar's last correspondence with Frume was to travel to Greenest as the result of reports of increased dragon activity.
Bond: every five nights, you have a strange sequence of apocalyptic dreams.
Backstory: Velkyn at a young age was never allowed out of the Shadowfell, he was to stay and learn the ways of the Raven Queen and his family. He spent most of his free time walking along the thinner parts of the the planes where he could view the Prime Material Plane.
Finally after what felt like a lifetime of prisonment to him in the Shadowfell, he was sent out to learn more of the world and protect the different planes. Along with advancing the Raven Queens agenda, of course.
Recently though, he has been having nightmares of the end. Bringing this to his higher ups he has been asked to travel to Greenest and figure out what is going on.
Chosen Bond from Table: #4 Ontharr Frume, a crusading warrior and champion of good, is your friend and mentor. He has asked you to travel to Greenest in search of rumors of increasing dragon activity.
Backstory: Born into a poor family in a small village, Jareth witnessed an attack on his homeland by marauders at a young age. Buildings burned, citizens taken or ravaged, and the seasonal harvest that his people had worked so hard to obtain, stolen before his eyes. These experiences left Jareth with a deep feeling of helplessness and depression as he reached his formative years. He became driven to become someone feared, someone who couldn't easily be taken advantage of. In his 20th year, he struck out to find a master who could teach him the ways of combat. He was driven more by the desire to increase his own power and reputation, thereby removing his sense of helplessnes, than feelings of revenge or exacting justice on the wicked. After journeying to many nearby villages, Jareth met a warrior named Ontharr Frume, who trained him over the course of several years in the way of combat and tactics. After finishing his training with Ontharr, Jareth set off for Greenest at his masters request.
Chosen Bond from Table: - You have heard rumors that your close childhood friend, a half-elf named Talis, has been kidnapped by a strange group of dragon cultists. Your investigations into the cult have led you to the town of Greenest. You must save her!
Backstory:
Calith is the fifth son of a travelling merchant from Neverwinter The child of a human father who met an elven woman in his travels. Upon his return to the same land later on he was presented with his half-elf son, Calith. His father took him at a young age as he was rejected by his mother's people. His older brothers, all fully human, treated him poorly, and while his father treated him well Calith recognized that his racial make-up would not lead to a great inheritance. He also knew that he did not possess either the intelligence or charisma needed to engage in his father's business of trade. He spent his time among the caravan guards of his father's merchant business. He also served in the Flaming Fist as a soldier and grew in stature as well as earning a well deserved reputation for his prowess in combat. He found that he did not like the rigid control of the military life and he left at the earliest chance and returned to work for his father as a caravan guard where he had greater freedom and could travel wider.
Work with his father's caravan guards allowed him to travel and gain experience in other languages other than his own. Proficient in Common, Elvish, Dwarvish and the trade language of Undercommon he could communicate with those he came into contact with while working the trade routes. He prefers to spend his time playing dice with soldiers and other guards. While he is comfortable in rough taverns he also knows how to behave in respectable inns. Unfortunately for Calith, his gambling issues have caused problems for him. His father has removed him from his position in the caravan guards. With his pack, weapons and some coins Calith is now on a new path. He recently learned that a close childhood friend has been kidnapped and he has gone looking for her.

Rekuberk Onc Level 8 | Half Orc | Barbarian (The Tales of the Fellowship of the White Cloaks)
Will this be theater of the mind, or will there be some kind of battle map? Some classes, skills and abilities really depend on positioning and theater of the mind takes away from that. Regardless, I want to DM these modules one day for my RL group and I really would like to experience them as a player first. Looking at the applicants, this group really needs a guide/scout/rogue. Hence my application:
Name: Known as "Silk"
Race: Human (variant)
Age: 33
Class: Rogue
Alignment: Neutral
Background: Urban Bounty Hunter
Chosen Bond from Table: When an orc raid drove your family from your home, the people of Greenest took you in. Anyone who threatens Greenest is your sworn enemy.
Backstory: Silk is a hunting guide using his skills at concealment and tracking to offer adventuring "experiences" to the wealthy. He tracks down vulnerable prey, usually Orcs or Giants and sets up ambushes so his clients can obtain their adventuring trophies. On the side, when business is scarce, Silk will hunt down criminals or other persons of interest in cities for pay. When times are really hard, he will do Private Investigation work, uncovering people's secrets for profit. Growing up on the streets of Greenest, Silk had to learn many lessons the hard way, and is no stranger to physical combat, but prefers to use small blades in melee as a last resort or ranged attacks to avoid getting to that point.
The other Hoard thread is starting and I'm in it, so I'll withdraw from this one.
Chosen Bond from table: 8. The dragons destroyed everything you hold dear. They killed your family and destroyed your home. Now, with nothing but what you carry on your back and a horrid scar of the near fatal wounds you sustained in the attack, you seek revenge.
Backstory: Iizan Rhukaan, a part of a mercenary war band of hobgoblins like, most war bands they only followed the coin. They never stayed in place for to long and when the time came they in countered adventures from time to time. They were easily put down and buried, many confused them with their smaller cousins. They however were different, practicing daily and only killing when paid or threatened. Iizan's life wasn't easy but he enjoyed it never the less. He was a young squire learning from his captian when a red dragon attacked his camp. Instead of running like most would do, they fought back to the dragons surprise. Most were inevitably killed burn to ash and those that lived tired to run at the last second. However the dragon quickly burnt them, Iizan running after his captain told him too was struck by the dragons tail flinging him across the camp leaving him unconscious and wounded. When he finally awoke the camp was nothing but embers and smoke. He looked for his captian but only found his burnt spell book. Filled with regret and anger he collected anything that was still useable and set out to find that red dragon that took everything from him.

Backstory: Banrik was born to a poor dwarven family. As a small child, his abusive father, not wanting to take care of him, left him at a doorstep. The Order took him in and trained him to be a Blood Hunter, a mutant schooled in the art of monster slaying. When he reached dwarven maturity (50) he was given the Hunter's Bane. The concoction changed his blood and his appearance (snow white hair and cat-like eyes). He was set out on his own with his longsword and has taken odd job after odd job for the past 5 years. Every 5 nights he has a nightmare, it ranges from swimming in pools of acid, running through walls of fire, or walking in a frozen blizzard and always ends with 10 red eyes staring at him. He learned from an elderly man that the answer to solving this nightmare was in Greenest, so he set out to travel there.
