If we have a new player lined up, here's how I'd like to play it:
My preferred option: Let's reboot. Sera and Hastos got to know each other and be coworker-friends during the opening cinematic (where you're escorting the refugees to Santekh). You two like working together and are considering partnering up for future quests when the new guy also earns your attention. You'll get to more naturally be introduced to important NPCs, inherent the important plot hooks that made this campaign what it is, and I can rework my campaign notes so they are easier to read and reference.
Second best option: Let's carry on. The new player will be introduced in a cinematic as one of the refugees who has some talent in combat, and they've been inspired to go adventuring with your group for whatever reasons for best with their character. The main, and second storylines go away, and the game gets renamed to "Secrets of Santekh". I'll update the campaign notes to only include NPCs and plot hooks your current party lineup is aware of, and you'll have to build your rapport as you define your role in town and on quests (rather than as members of The Golden Company). We'll start playing immediately, and the new player can jump in whenever they're ready.
It's after midnight where I am, so I'll build a new thread tomorrow or Thursday at the latest (I have a lot going on tomorrow)
Uncle, if you don't mind, please ask your friend to message me, so I can invite them to the campaign. I'll also tell a person I have as an alternate that a spot has opened up.
I'm kind of excited about this. The original party has missed out on literally thousands of Stl worth of wealth, and at least 3 relics/legendary items due to player drop off. We'll start back up at level 1, but I don't think that will last too long. I think you two will really sink your teeth into the plot hooks and not shy away from encounter opportunities that will help level you up pretty quickly. It's just, some parts of the story work best if you experience them at level one.
So we at level 1? Eeeep ( feel the level drain and memory loss slap me I not felt since playing AD&D and trying to fight a vampire)
;)
Only for a little while. 😅 You're character will level up pretty quickly, I'm sure. The only reason you've been stuck at level 3 as long as you have is because we sort of stalled out since the new year started.
Anyway, I messaged the new players and I'm waiting to hear back from them. It's been a long day (I've been going nonstop with only one meal break for 11 hours), and it's still not over. So I'm not going to start a new IC Thread today. But I'll get on it tomorrow once I've rested.
Yes please. But you don't have to lose any gear you currently have. You can even keep the goodies you got from your OSMH (Oversized Sock of Mundane Holding).
I don't want to keep you waiting any longer. You can start posting now, and the new arrivals can chime in when they're ready. A level one character takes like... 5 minutes to make in DnDBeyond, so I doubt there's any reason to wait too long.
Greetings and Salutations all. Uncle Uncle tipped me off that you are a welcoming and energetic group and I feel that may be just up my alley. Thanks for Having me/
Hello fellow players, player fellows. Our intrepid GM told me that you're starting over and it sounded like a ton of fun. I know that making a lvl 1 character takes no time, but I was wondering if a dwarf monk would be alright. I know hill dwarves have been sortta nomadic since the Cataclysm. I thought a monk would fit with the travelling warrior type of of vibe, though I'm probably going to try to get creative with the martial arts part. I'm sure I can get survival from a background and that should go well with the idea of a traveler.

Thank you for letting me keep the x-mas gift ( OSMH Oversized Sock of Mundane Holding) but it was just dumb luck that gave me a Sun blade ( rolled a 12 on that d12). To have a special sword that Sera inherited from her father who was a Solamnic knight can be nice for her backstory. But to start out with a rare item of such power when the others have not any such I find no fun.
How about I trade it in so ALL players get a common magical item of their choosing?
I like a magical longsword that never rusts or gets blunt or breaks even you smash it at a stone. It always stays razor sharp. It count as magical weapon to damage creatures resistant towards normal weapons. That sounds like balanced common magical item? ( like unbreakable arrows from Xanadars))
Welcome! Happy to have you on board. I see you play Kender. Thats cool. I do not mind your character "borrows" items. How we play it out?
Haven't sorted that out as of yet. Honestly given the character I feel any attempted borrowing will be for comedic use than actual desire to take/use items.
Thanks for pointing this out early so it didn't cause friction later.
I'm good with it. Just remember to give me something to work with on your backstory.
Character sheet is up with Backstory. Feel free to adjust, massage, add and shift I am very flexible and love discovering more aspects and nuances to the stories, mine and others.

Alright I am fine with Arvos taking a step back.
Ok. Uncle has a player on standby.

My Campaigns:
Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread (PbP); Secrets of the Island (On Discord); Lost Mine of Phendelver (tabletop)
My Characters:
Krik-tul, Thri-kreen monk; Mme Cragmaw, Goblin Artificer; River Kuthraeann, Wood Elf Paladin
I’m down for your preferred option.
Character: Hastos, Ibahalii Vriwhulth, the Reaper of Glory v2: IC Thread
I split up the party since what we agree upon in ooc tread seemed not to apply...I also understood the DM was all fine juggling different stories.
And I love post daily. Others can not. So Sera split to hopefully get the game move forward at a quicker pace.
But it is fine to reboot. Rewind and erease. We arrive at Santech with a caravan. Togheter with the new players character.
We start a new tread again?

How Hastos explain his green dragon army armor? Like we probably have noticed.
He is Silvanesti elf?
