"Well, we have been ordered to do this now so please step aside. In fact we would need you to leave the premises as we conduct our investigation and we'll be sure to speak to your superiors in the morning about the permits."The redhead explains in a firm tone, carried with authority of a patriar. Hoping to lure the man out in the open if it is as she suspects that the man is at least moonlighting as a cult sentry.
Intimidation if needed: 9
If the man moves, Mal would follow at his back, ready to sting.
The old man raises up a hand, "Sorry to interrupt, but I'm afraid I'm just a groundskeeper. I don't know nothing about hygiene, plumbing, or permits. What I do know is how to keep those bushes trimmed nice and pretty."
Zim admires the shrubbery. Nature Check (9). "Aye man. I can see your talents as a shrubber are true. Who pays you to tend these grounds and how did you make shrubs into such pleasing shapes and that shrub beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get the two-level effect with a little path running down the middle. Extraordinary!"
Gorin admires the work on the statues mostly, when the man appears. He wonders aswell what he is doing here at night.

"Alright, alright, let me just gather my things. Left my lantern on the floor." The old man bends down and picks up a small hooded lantern. He turns around grabs his book and starts to fix the lantern. "...And you folk don't know whose the owner? Well, that's a bit strange if you don't mind me saying."
From what Zim remembers, while the shrubs were pruned to a good height, they still had a number of dead branches on the inner part of the shrub.
"Yes, well you wouldn't know how administration of these inspections work, would you. Never been to this place before, much less met with it's owner, but all that will be sorted out in due time and process, we're just following orders, as should you." The redhead goes on, fully embracing the role as an arrogant official now.

Gorin, it is hard to tell in the dark of the bathhouse but it's a very well modelled statue. The detail to the body, face, even to the naiad's hair is particular. It would be easy to mistake it for a living person if it weren't so still. And it seems they even draped it in real clothes to give it a more lifelike feel.
"Oh don't worry, ma'am. I intend to follow orders." The old man blows his candle out for a moment. He lights his lantern but it gives off a strange blue glow. He turns around and the lantern is shown to be a skull, with a blue flame lit inside it.
But Gorin doesn't notice it as he is distracted. By the statue he was seeing is standing up and facing him, with a manic smile as it lunges forward with a dagger.
Enemy initiated surprise round (Only for those that were hidden) Combat with limited visibility, currently only light sources are dim light from windows, entrance to the bathhouse, and Old man's lantern. Those without darkvision see those in darkness heavily obscured.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The women before Gorin gives off a strange feeling, as if if her bloodlust was a physical aura around her. Yet even more disturbing is her gaze honed in on Gorin's face as she tries to drive her dagger into him.
(I wanted to use shield, but no reactions in surpise round, right?)

The other statues move as well, closing in onto the party. One of them throw a dagger to Arkon as they move to Sarris. While the other moves in behind Valeria, stabbing her dagger at her.
Attack: 24 Damage: 11 at Arkon Attack: 19 Damage: 7 at Valeria
The answer holds true, although it does seem strange to find the groundskeeper in the bathhouse and not out in the courtyard.
Arkon stays in front of Val as she handles the talking, keeping an eye out for anyone trying to sneak up on them.
