When the undead appeared, Traeth was mindlessly fidgeting with his amulet, feeling the ridges and the curves and the smoothness of the metal. The attack from the undead caught Traeth totally by surprise, and he was slow to react.
Owen and Kaelen hit on all of their attacks. Ghoul2 is prone. Turns:
Ghoul2
Bite attack on owen. 18 to hit, 9 piercing.
Wight1:
Two longbow attacks on Malon. 14 to hit, 5 piercing. 10 to hit, 4 piecing.
Ghoul3:
Bite attack on Malon. 13 to hit, 9 piercing.
Ghoul1:
Claw attack on Kaelen. 10 to hit, 9 slashing. " If the target is a creature other than an elf or undead, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. "
Wight2: My bad, there is only supposed to be one wight.
Zombie1:
Slam attack on Owen. 8 to hit, 3 bludgeoning.
Vaelen is up, with Zombie2, Malon, and Traeth on deck.
Vaelen draws a small set of dark, ornate pipes from within his cloak. After taking a few steps forward, his gaze sweeps across the undead, and with a measured breath, he presses the pipes to his lips. A haunting melody resonates through the night air—eerie, yet oddly entrancing.
He wills his allies to remain unaffected by its power, focusing the pipes’ dread on the ghouls, wights, and zombies closing in. Each hostile creature within thirty feet must face the music of his Pipes of Haunting. Their courage may falter for a full minute, heartbeats pounding in panicked dread.
Vaelen keeps the melody firm yet controlled, steadying his stance for what comes next. Shadows seem to curl at his feet, and the very air grows still, as if the world itself holds its breath to witness his haunting tune.
I have faded out Zombie2, Ghoul3,Traeth and Malon. This is just so that if Traeth and Malon don't come back you guys aren't facing an encounter made to have two more players. (You can occupy their spaces)
Imgur isn't working right now, so I don't have an updated map with the crossed out characters and creatures.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ghoul1 is dead.
Ghoul2 attacks Owen with a bite attack: Attack: 13 Damage: 9 (piercing)
Wight1 moves to stand above Vaelen and to the left of Kaelen and attacks Kaelen with its life drain attack. Attack: 7 Damage: 5 (necrotic)
The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Vaelen’s eyes narrow on the Wight as it moves between him and Kaelen. With a steady breath, he lifts his staff, arcane energy crackling at his fingertips. He speaks in a quiet, resolute tone:
“This darkness cannot remain. Be undone.”
With a flick of his wrist, he releases the spell, and four shimmering darts streak out in rapid succession. Each arc of magical light slams into the Wight, punctuating Vaelen’s final word with a burst of force.
Kaelen shifts his attention to the Wight, but not in time to avoid its fearsome bite. Fortunately his inherent connection to the Shadowfell lessens the damage and he is able to resist the lasting effects. Vaelen's potent magical attack against the undead bolsters the ranger's resolve and he moves to strike the creature as well.
Bonus Action: Move Hunter's Mark to Wight1
Action: Shortsword to hit 16, damage 6 + 6 hunter's mark= 12 piercing
Owen dodges a bite only to jump into a blow from the zombie "Ouch!"
He reacts by focusing on the ghoul.
Chin strike Attack: 25 Damage: 6
Knee kick Attack: 11 Damage: 7
DC 13 Dex save vs 3 fire damage on zombie.
The chin strike snaps the ghouls head back, snapping its neck with a resounding crunch and flat out killing it. The knee kick I moved to the zombie, which was hit by both that and the fire and fled the scene. Owen makes an AoO. EDIT: Don't know why I did this, since it's not the zombies turn yet.

You swing opening a wound on its arm. It recovers, but it took a hit.
Wight1 turns its attention to Vaelen, swinging with the longsword before attempting to drain their life. Longsword: Attack: 11 Damage: 8 slashing.
Life drain: Attack: 10 Damage: [roll]1d6+2/roll] necrotic. Life drain effects if hit:

Wight2 and Zombie2 passed the check, Zombie1 is out of range.
Zombie2 'slams' Vaelen, 12 to hit 6 bludgeoning damage.
Malon is up.
Okay, we'll skip over Malon for now.
Traeth is up.
I suppose we'll be passing on Traeth as well.
Owen can go.
Owen tries to kick the ghoul in the gut then uses eldritch flurry to cast Create Bonfire under the zombie.
Kick! Attack: 8 Damage: 7
DC 13 Dex save vs 6 fire damage.

Vaelen is up.
Kaelen con save: 13; He has necrotic resistance so takes 4 damage.
(In case I haven't said it yet, that's a successful save. I play meet it to beat it.)
