Khessa thanks the paladins, revealing to them that Varram, this 'dwarf in purples robes' is a dangerous exponent of the evil 'Cult of Dragons' - and it is therefore the case to capture him, if he were to show up.
The blonde arcane warrior then leads the group to Bolo's Tentside Inn: "Let's hope to be able to find more precise or interesting news about Varram... Let's remember, however, for when we meet him: let's try to knock him out, rather than kill him, because Rezmire, another important exponent of the Cult, was already protected by an insidious magic, which teleported away her most precious objects when she was killed. And we definitely do not want the White Dragon Mask to be teleported away".
The Paladins thank you for the intel. They advise you not to slander the Dwarf though. He is something of a local hero and people might be reluctant to provide information.
"If this guy is a king of a local hero" Eric mumbles "we may look for him not asking for information, but claiming we are looking for his help. Maybe people will be willing to cooperate this way"
"Great idea, Eric!" Khessa enthusiastically pats her beloved dwarf on the shoulder "I'm sure our Zale, with her golden tongue, will be able to make anyone believe this story".
"And if anyone were to ask for details," the blonde arcane warrior adds "we could invent that we have problems with some Yuan-Ti... Apparently, Varram had no problem killing one of their spies..."
As she continues walking, the tall adventuress also searches with her blue eyes those of Jean and Kni, ready to accept any advice, corrections or contributions from them too, in case they have any: "What do you think? Works for you too?"
Kni takes out his sword(dagger) out and raises it high. "The queen seeks a dwarf hero! To help in her quest! For our foes be the snakes that...hiss at her?" Kni gives a slightly puzzled look before continuing, "We have need of stone hero! For the snakes have venom!"
(Sorry for the wait, been busy with work with bad weather and power outages on top of that.)
Zale facepalms, she'd been trying to ignore Kni but his annoying presence is... well annoying, he's just like Eek... well almost. "Aye, I be up for convincin this dwarf feller.... though we should conciser the possibility that he may know our descriptions if he has contact with the cult." She shrugs, "That be said, I be thinkin either i should disguise meself, or we should be sendin...uh.." She glances at Jean, realizing that she forgot the woman's name. Or was she even told it? She can't remember... to many distractions around... "Uh, her." She jabs a thumb towards Jean. Crossing her arms she tilts her head and looks back at Khessa and Eric, "Unless ye think this guy don't be havin a direct line o contact with the cult, then nothin i just said matters."
"I had you in mind because you can be very persuasive, Zale, my friend..." Khessa muses aloud "But appointing Jean in your place is fine with me anyway, if she feels like it".
The blonde arcane warrior's blue eyes turn to the candidate: "You have only recently joined the party, Jean. It is indeed less likely that our enemies know you, than us. Do you want to be the one asking questions about Varram?"
(Sorry for the delay, things have been busy here!)
Jean inclines her head, "This sounds like a good plan, and I would be happy to attempt to speak with this woman about Varram if that's what you want. Zale, I'd welcome the company if you'd like to come in disguise." Jean braces her hands on her hips, wearing a genuine grin, "We could pretend to be tourists, looking for information on local legends. This could be fun!"

So, you make you way to Bolo's Tentside Inn, and when you enter you are greeted by a lively and somewhat chaotic atmosphere. The smell of roasting meat and liquor hangs heavy in the air, mixed with the scent of wet earth and smoke from the campfire outside. It's hot and busy inside. The space is filled with a colorful group of adventurers, traders and locals. Groups of people sit at long, rough wooden tables, eating, drinking and talking loudly. In a corner of the pavilion, a Bard plays a cheerful tune on his lute, while a few customers sing and dance along. The floor is covered with straw to keep the mud out, and torches burn on the walls, giving off a warm, flickering light. Behind the bar is Bolo, an energetic female Halfling with a wide smile and a twinkle in her eye. She is busy pouring a drink for a blue Dragonborn.
While waiting for Jean or Zale to approach Bolo to talk to her, Khessa tries to relax by joining the a few customers singing and dancing along near the bard.
The blonde arcane warrior takes also the opportunity to listen to the conversations that are being made, trying to understand the situation and the general mood in the place.
When the dialogue with the halfling begins, however, the tall adventuress returns to her friends.

Jean smiles at the halfling woman, "I'll take an ale, but truth be told," She'll lean closer to the bartender, looking conspiratorial, "I was hoping I could find some information. I'm new around here and I'd heard mention of a hero called Varram. He sounds fascinating, is there anything you can tell me about him?"

While Bolo pours your drink she replies: Varram? Doesn't ring a bell. We've got a local hero here, maybe that's the hero you're looking for? He never told us his name but he's this though Dwarf wearing purple robes. She goes in full fangirl mode now. Oh, I definitely saw him. He was asking about escorts into the hills, when this hooded fellow starts asking him his business. The Dwarf looked him straight in the eye, then pulled out his dagger and stabbed the tall fellow dead! He was one of the scaled folk of the Serpent Hills, come down to spy on us! That Dwarf’s a hero, make no mistake. But he and his entourage took off straight away for the hills then, quick as cats!
'For the hills...' Khessa, who is back with her friends, thinks 'It is a good start. Who knows if the red--robed hero asked someone for directions? That could help us even more...'
The blonde arcane warrior just waits, silent, letting Jean and Zale keep dedicating to the task they are fulfilling so well...
Khessa laughs as she accepts her newfound friend's embrace, then pats him forcefully on the scaly shoulder: "Indeed! These are tough times... but it seems you're even tougher! Fancy coming on a trip with us? It might be a good opportunity to dust off (and put back into action) the Fist of Silvanus!"

"A spy?!" Jean leans further forward, attempting to match Bolo's energy, "How exciting! I don't suppose he found that escort he was looking for, did he? Oh! And was the rest of his entourage, were they just as powerful?" Jean shoots a grin back to the party as she catches the sounds of the reunion, "Do you know what, as long as I'm here I'll get a round for my friends there too, this is just the sort of heroics we were hoping for."

Bolo is exicted to talk about her hero as she continues to pour those drinks. Most of it is just fandom talk, but you learn that Varram travels with more than a dozen other companions, including a handful of cloaked and hooded warriors. She assumes them to be Barbarian mercenaries. They headed into the Serpent Hills after Varram killed the Yuan-Ti. Good weather and the fact that Varram and his large party were moving with haste should make their trail into the hills easy to follow.

Kriv looks up from his drink, turning to Jean. "I ran with a group of heroes not too long ago. There was a dwarf, but never heard of Varram."
A couple seconds pass before he realizes the familiar faces standing nearby. "Zale! Eric! Khessa!"
He jumps up and wraps all three in a large hug.
