Lerithyn yawns and stretches. His watch went relatively quiet and he felt safe enough to sleep with both Major and Ra'sakar watching over them. Hearing the unfamiliar voice, Lerithyn looks through his tent-flap to see who it is. He relaxes when he notices it's coming from the telepath. Lerithyn half-expected it to be a woman's voice. Odd.
He shoves his blanket in to the pack and gathers up his tent, folds it neatly, and places it in his pack as well. He then pulls out his studded armor and walks over to the food and the campfire. He starts to fidget with the studs in the armor, making sure they're all neatly placed and he doesn't need to repair any. He eats breakfast, puts his armor on, and is ready for the day's journey.
After being awoke Stribog looks to the fire, seeing it still going he quickly gets out his pot and some coffee grains. "Would anyone like to join me in for a pot of coffee before we leave?"
He lets the pot sit atop the fire while he packs away his gear. Once done he sees the the coffee is also ready. Pulling out a mug he pours himself a cup and drinks it, letting the roasted liquid warm his soul.

Lerithyn takes Stribog's offer of coffee and raises it with a few sweet pastries. "My thanks, Stribog," he says, pulling a cup from his mess kit. He pours the coffee in and sips it, nodding his approval. He dips a bit of the pastry into the coffee and eats. "One of my favorite things about living in Sharn was the difference; Different personalities, different races, different foods and drinks. It's amazing how so many can live in one place and create a symbol of civilization. Remarkable." He takes another drink of his coffee.
"There was a dwarf I worked with, Gulbert. He would use racial slurs for every species he would meet. Halflings would be 'dem braggin hairfoots' and humans would be 'smelly apes' and elves would be 'pointy eared braggards.' He would use these terms all the time, even in their company." Lerithyn takes another drink, "When he saw me, he called me 'freakface krakenman.' It took me awhile before I was able to research what a krakenman was, and it appeared to be a small ocean faring animal that ate ships. I guess I was ok with that." He takes another sip, "One day I might even see a kraken."
Lerithyn finishes his coffee and pastry and stands, "Well, I believe it is time to go. Major..." Major stands from beside where Lerithyn's tent was, looking shiny and revived, "Let us continue our little pilgrimage."
Major spent most of the night polishing his weapon and armour while waiting for Rask'er to wake so he could rest.
As the morning came around Major awoke peacefully and simply rose and walked towards the fire to listen to Lerithyn and Stribog before following them to leave.
The night is filled with noises and shadows, almost as the day before was void of civilization and tranquility.
As the explorers head south-east, they are able to catch a glimpse of Xen'drik. The beauty of the flora makes them think of inescapable danger, as bright colors attract insects and even small birds. Everything seems to be eating something or being eaten by something in the jungle. Small animals around avoided our heroes, knowing they were a few levels higher than them in the feeding chain. A few hours after noon, but way before the sun starts to set, they reached the Obsidian City outskirts. The jungle around it seemed to stop abruptly, as if showing respect for its citizens.
"It is better if we avoid the area around the city" says Ilmo. "We don't want to attract any drow scout parties before reaching our destination".
Just before nightfall, they are able to reach the Forsaken City. More than a proper city, it consists of the remains of a giant city, covering several miles of wild terrain, hiding its secrets. Empty guard posts scattered around the perimeter of the city might conceal more modern and savage inhabitants looking for prey. The ruins rise high enough in several places to allow an airship to dock, making the Azure Tower an eye-catching landmark for navigation. The Azure Tower, a rectangular tower of blue glass, rises hundreds of feet in the air, the ruined shells of building sprawing around its base. A series of stone canals divides the area into square sections. Rotating giant orbs with what it seems to be liquid inside shed an eerie greenish light over the desolation.
The Forsaken City show you distinguished areas to explore:
Abandoned Buildings (1)
Canals (2)
Water Orbs (3)
The Coliseum (4)
The Observatory (5)
The Azure Tower (6-10)
As debris covers most of the ancient streets, treat all outside areas as light rubble (Speed reduced in 5ft) and interior of ruined buildings as dense rubble (speed halved and disadvantage for Dexterity-based skill checks related to movement).
"Aukan," Lerithyn says, "Do you believe it wise to deter from our objective?"
"As much as it would be nice to look around, I feel as though it would be better to focus on what we came here for. Namely, Ilmo's trinket." Lerithyn pulls his rope from his pack and wraps it around himself, setting the hooks into his belt. He then unslings his cannon and holds it at the ready. He follows Aukan, careful to keep his steps light as he navigates the rubble.
"I'm a little disappointed I wasn't allowed to see my mother Ilmo. It has been nearly two centuries since I last saw her." Ra'sakar says as they wlk away from the Obsidian City.
When they reach the forsaken city, Ra'sakar looks around, until Aukan vocalises his request.
"There isn't much need to do so. I can tell you what the arrangements of the stars mean for the day ahead, and even if we could find something in the observatory, it would probably be heavily damaged. Lerithyn is right - we should go straight for our objective."

"I agree with Aukan." Looking at all the the buildings in awe and wonder. Stribog had never seen such buildings, after all he did not do much traveling. "We should at least investigate the observatory. Who knows what we might find and lets be honest," looking at each member of the group, "We probably will not come this way again."

Seeing this site makes Cassiel wonder how many great civilizations have risen and fallen in years pass and how many will in years to come.
Even though I share your curiosity master Aukan I do think that masters Lerithyn and Ra'sakar have a valid point. Our journey to this city is already a detour on our main travel, but I tell you this, I would be honored to come back here with you and specially if the rest join us as well so we can explore all possibilities and learn about the history of this great civilization and most important of all, learn what brought it to its down fall.
Adriel couldn't leave this last comment go without a retort: We are the responsible for the downfall of the Giants, the Daakan, King Galifar and we will bring all others puny civilizations down!
Feeling a bit of dismay at not being able to see the stars with his own eyes Stirbog carried on. As the group walked Stribog went to Aukan, "Do not worry my friend. I promise that as soon as our adventure is through you and I, and anyone else that wishes to join," the last being said for all to hear, "Will make our way back here and you may show us all the secrets of this place." He pats Aukans back a bit rougher then intended, but meant with good cheer.

"We could head to the tower to investigate" Major adds "however that is not our objective and it is clear that the information in there would not be of much use. I recommend we stay on course, it would not be wise to waste time and risk our safety if something were to happen." Major says as he walks beside Aukan and Stribog in an attempt to console them, informing them they are making the right choice.
What it looks like slave dwellings circle around the city. Most buildings were made of stone and wood, living trees shaped to support stone walls. The forest has grown, died and grown again several times all around them. Giant dwellings surround the Azure Tower, shaped of obsidian, opaque crystal, steel and basalt bricks. Some are still in good condition, though many roofs have collapsed. Many gaping holes all around spark the imagination of our heroes as holding giant stones or precious metals, but takes by scavengers long ago. Enormous orbs of green water hover on street corners throughout the city.
The Azure Tower forms the central point of what was the city. This rectangular tower rises over a thousand feet in the air, its opaque blue crystal windows seeming almost mirror-like in direct sunlight.
Giant doors lead into the tower from the ground floor. A fleet of magic lifts once carried giants to the upper floor, but all except one now lie smashed in their shafts. The remaining lift, for some obscure reason, seems to greet you when getting closer as you can hear something that sounds as "Helsingen". As its doors open, some medium skeletal remains can be seen still wearing some rusted armor and very old equipment, some of them bearing the old Galifar Kingdom coat of arms most of you know from History books. A side wall shows some runes in circle around a clockwork hand, obviously as a control for the lift.
Most of the giant-sized interior floors of the Azure Tower are now empty shells, stripped by looters and ravaged by time.
(Hello, adventurers, your DM welcomes you to the Azure Tower. Keep in mind that the whole structure was built by giants for giants, so everything is super-sized. Please roll some Perception checks in advance if you're going to be actively looking for things around. And... I hope one of you speaks Giant, hehe)
In his mind: (Cassiel) The giant civilization was one of wonders and deserving of much study, I would love to spend time here learning all that there is to learn. (Barachiel) Learning is a great objective in life my friend, but we are on a mission at the moment, so It would be important for you to be as helpful as you can to your companions. (Adriel) Why help this weaklings, they were hired to get us from A to B, they decided on a detour, they are obliged to keep us alive!
Once again Cassiel is faced with the fact that his thoughts are not only his. He turns to Aukan: Master Aukan, is this a welcoming ritual? Do you know if it must be answered by all before entering? I am sorry my friends, but can any of you detect arcane magic? It could be a Magic Mouth with some sort of trigger. My ... gift ... is limited and I cannot detect arcane auras as most educated arcanists can.
Adriel in Cassiel's mind:Yes you stupid child, announce to all that you are weak as they are!
(Cassiel won't roll Perception but would like to roll Investigation if possible (passive investigation 12) also, he draws from his backpack a sealing wax stick to mark all turns they do on the right side, middle of the walls, if someone is carrying a torch to melt the wax when needed, if no one is carrying heat sorce, Cassiel will use the chalk to mark the right walls every time they make a turn)
Somewhat unnerved by the Giant language spoken by the machine, Ra'sakar doesn't really pay attention, worried that there may be a giant nearby [Perception check 6]. However, he might still pick up minor details that he isn't really looking for [Passive Perception 14].
