"Well, I can't imagine our good host has allowed the undead to move in the building right across the way. So lets go north and clear the first few building on the west side of the path and work towards the tavern."
Pip will leave his pony in the circle and go on foot.
Although perhaps not an expert in human physiology, you've felt or at least no doubt seen in Anton certain traits of someone well-versed in the martial domain. His posture, even at rest, left open the possibility of springing away at a moment's notice. And felt through the hand were calluses only wielding a blade over several decades. Whether or not he can still perform or exceeded Anton's skill level in his advance age, you cannot be certain. But at the very least, he has either long since forsaken the use of blades, or hide one elsewhere; as all his worldly possession could be seen throughout the room... as far as you can tell.
As the group approaches the building to the north, they see the following: A weathered signboard by the door of this large building shows the faded image of a workhorse holding a flagon of ale. The building is sagging and dilapidated, but it is more intact than the ruins across the road. What windows in the front there were appear haphazardly boarded up. And the one front entrance door appears to have swelled and wedged itself tight in its frame.
Athletics Check(DC 12) to force it open. Variable DC for using alternative means to get inside.

One good shoulder check from Anton proves more than enough for the door. A loud cracking of wood accompanies it being forced open, followed by it slapping against the wall having swung fully on rusted hinges. Yet, after a tense moment of anticipation, no undead come rushing out of the building. Nor are there so much as a groan or sounds shifting of debris from bodies rising in response to the noise itself. Those closest to the doorway and peering inside can just make out what looks to be the remains of the common room in the dim light, and various tables and chairs either turned over or broken; but, all of it caked in some kind of dust or powder. Unfortunately, between the furniture and debris that most likely fell from the ceiling, its hard to gauge if there are any actual bodies inside.
They can also spy just a ways inside and to the far left an opening for a wide entryway.

I suppose I should have made this clear much sooner. Odrin does not see anything more than what's been described, other than the 'dust' mention earlier appears to actually be ash. A heavy layer of it appears to cover everything in the room as far as he can see into the building... which isn't much because of all the aforementioned obstacles.

Ordrin carefully explores the near half of the room, hammer ready. He's on high alert, paying special attention for any sounds or movement and gauging the stability of the structure.
So, Odrin followed by Anton step in and form something of a defensive line going forward. Pip, Mixum, and Lokk are not too far behind, though may have opted to linger closer to the door frame from the time being. As far as you can tell, the roof doesn't look ready to collapse on you at any moment. Nor or the pillars in the far corners quite so visibly decayed to that point. The further you travel inside, the more ash is kicked up with every step. It would seem despite having boarded up the windows, it either wasn't quite enough or someone had foolishly opened the door at some point in the past to let so much inside.
As either of you are perhaps pondering things, or merely keeping your focus for any danger, Anton starts to shift an overturned table around for a better look at what laid beyond it. What you both at first might mistake a large, ash covered bag shuddering on the spot. Odrin, you are the first to recognize it for what it is. That, and that some of the mounds further away -- as well as the one you can just glimpse past the side-entryway aren't bags... but the deceased. All of which now have begun to move as if in response to living presence inside the building.
Right when you both are raising your weapons to strike, the cracking of glass graps your attention for just a moment. From behind the bar in the far right corner, you two hear what sounds like a clacking of bone against bone just before a large, skeletal hand rises above the bar, and slams itself into it, splintering the wood, then dig in the beginnings of pulling a much larger frame into sight.
It's time for some initiative. And again, you are not surprised! Same as last time, if go ahead and roll initiative. If yours happens to be higher than any of the bad guys then feel free to act.
I could not find satisfactory enough battle map for this one. Do forgive me! T.T For some clarity, Anton and Odrin made it 15ft inside the room before things started happening. They are both currently 5ft from one slowly rising corpse. And 10ft from two, rising in between them and the bar in the corner. A fourth is rising off the side, but is 15ft away. Finally, the large skeleton is about 30ft away from the door, and currently as three-fourths cover(+5 AC) in addition to being prone(all ranged attacks at disadvantage). Zombonies also start of prone so only ranged attacks at disadvantage.
Note: Attempting to move closer to the skeleton requires moving through difficult terrain as there is still plenty of debris and furniture in between the party and it.
Anton reacts quickly to the slowly rising corpse, hacking at it with his sword, and bracing for the imminent onslaught.
Attack: 20 Damage: 12
With a surge of speed, he strikes at it a second time, hoping he can fell it before it stands.
Attack: 20 Damage: 11
He then tries to distract it from the incoming attack by one of his companions (Distracting strike: 5 extra damage, and the next attack against it has advantage)
If it goes down he will step over its body to engage the next two zombies (even if it's not down, if it's possible to do so he'll shift around it to get within 5' of the others)

"Do ya think the pub might still have some ale?" Ordrin asks wistfully. "Nah. Perhaps it's best to start close and carve out a perimeter."
"Well, I can't imagine our good host has allowed the undead to move in the building right across the way. So lets go north and clear the first few building on the west side of the path and work towards the tavern."
Pip will leave his pony in the circle and go on foot.
"I canno' argue with that. To the pub!"

Ordrin peers over Anton's shoulder into the tavern, looking for any creatures or signs of movement.

"Well, lads, the ale won't find itself. Pardon me, Anton," Ordrin says, setting two feet inside the room to get a better look.
"You see anything Ordrin? Make some room and let the rest of us in!"
Pip calls out.
