OoC: (checks map) Ok, got it. Thanks! Yeah, I think it's smoother if you just roll for everyone, since there aren't any decisions involved. Otherwise it adds basically a whole extra round's worth of posting time. But, since I'm here: Initiative: 19
2 Arrows whistle through the air, narrowly missing Riverwing's head, and embedding in trees behind her. 4 Goblins explode out of the bushes, 2 run towards Anton, scimitars wielded. 2 more are nocking their bow's, preparing a 2nd volley (30 feet away).
Gilmys and Sulvarax were caught completely by surprise. Combat order:
Riverwing (2 attacks, second as a bonus action), Anton, Gobbies, Delta in round 1 Riverwing, Anton, Sulvarax, Gobbies, Gilmys, Delta, in round 2
River gets an attack of opportunity for the Nat 20 on an ambush!
OoC: Any chance of a rough map (even just monospace text)? Anton has a feat that's triggered by particular adjacency relationships.
Edit: Actually, re-reading it, I may not need to know exact positions; just which enemies are next to me. Which it sounds like two of the goblins are (and if they're not they will be soon).
I kind of made rough positions for everyone. Feel free to say "Ya no, I was here instead". My maps will normally be 5x5 feet squares. This on is 10x10.
G1 and G4 are charging Anton. G2 and G3 are playing peekaboo in the brush. They are currently not visible, but you know where the arrows came from
OOC -- I hadn't noticed you had Sentinel! It's a sweet feat.
Seeing the pair of goblins charging at him from the bushes, Anton raises his shield and flail and rushes at them, trying to get the first blow. Standing between them, he swings his flail at the goblin on his right [G4, unless River kills it], aiming for the side of its head.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC I would definitely like for the DM to roll my initiative from now on! I do have some concern about us leaving the wagon we are guarding alone and hope we've at least tied it up?
River quick casts Thornwhip to injure and pull G4 closer to me, then hits it with her quarterstaff (bludgeoning damage) then grins at it - attempt at intimidation19
You create a long, vine-like whip covered in thorns that lashes out at your command toward a creature in range. Make a melee spell attack against the target. If the attack hits, the creature takes 1d6 piercing damage, and if the creature is Large or smaller, you pull the creature up to 10 feet closer to you.
Did anyone see the rolls before it rerolled with my edit to add intimidation? I didn't realize adding another roll into the chat would make it reroll others.
(OoC: No problem with the DM rolling initiative, it's the goblins turns now, right? And to Jynne, I saw, I made this mistake more than once, I actually made it today, but I can't remember what you rolled at all.)
OOC first was over 10 and 2 damage, and second was nat 20 with 6 damage - honestly tho, i think the intimidation rerolled too when i commented and its a little higher than it was. But i still like the combat dice roller better that typing it all out.
I'm going to take Jynne's word on the rolls. Thornwhip misses but the QStaff hits (this is his bonus attack I awarded for the nat 20 Initiative roll). You can use a reaction for an attack of opportunity as the Goblin cowers and tries to flee
G4 dodges Riverwing's thornwhip but is stunned by the staff blow, and terrified by the Druid's demeanor. As he attempts to flee, River taps him on the back of his head and he crumples to the ground, dead.

OoC: I’m voting for you rolling for everyone especially if I keep rolling like that.

"Well, I don't anymore. I just wanted to make sure." Sulvarax replies, completely missing Anton's sarcasm.
Sulvarax Myilril | Dragonborn | Sorcerer | Lost Mines of Phandelver
OoC: Hah, love the lost in thought earnest obliviousness of Sulvarax.
