"Aye," Ordrin nods thoughtfully, "Leo looks a little worse for wear." Ordrin withdraws the relict hanging from his neck and kneels next to Leo. He touches the emblem of Moradin to Leo's massive brow and mutters to his patron, casting Cure Wounds. "There ya go, my large friend. Easy now, take it easy. How do you feel?"
Just then he hears Pip, and realization dawns on him. "What?!" he yells, standing over Leo. "Why, that bugger took me hammer!"
Cure Wounds: 2 + 2 (spellcasting ability modifier) + 3 (life domain ability for an extra 2 + 1 (spell level))
OoC: Total from Cure Wouns = 7. Did I get that all right?
"Aye," Ordrin nods thoughtfully, "Leo looks a little worse for wear."
OoC: "Worse for wear"? You do know Leo just fell unconscious, right? 0HP, and about to start rolling those death saving trows. I just wanted to make that sure so this message made sense.
As Leo regains conciousness, he stays there laid down, and just squints his eyes, but just after that he lets them stay closed. He tries to respond the dwarf's question, while still staying there, with his back to the floor and his eyes closed. "I'm fine... Thank you for the help..." He speaks slowly and in a low tone, enough so it's not so easy to hear it under Ordrin's yell.
Pip continues into the room if it looks safe to do so. When he reaches the dwarf he'll remove the gag and give him a little shake to try and wake him up
Seeing the change in the footprints Anton slowly but surely puts the pieces together as he reasons that the real Gundren was likely still in the castle somewhere. Prudence and mission-focus wins out over his impulse to continue following the tracks, and he shouts, "It was a ruse! The others..." gesturing to Lokk to follow him as he sprints back into the castle.
As he enters the room where the owlbear corpse lies, he calls out, slightly short of breath, "That wasn't... Gundren... He must still be..." as he catches sight of the barely conscious dwarf.
Seeing Anton come into the room gasping, the Dwarf manages a chuckle despite his state. "Good gravy, you came looking for me? You've earned that paycheck and then some lad. Help me up. That Bugbear had my map. Kept it under his bed." Pausing a second, Gundren says "Sildar. Did you find SIldar? The filthy goblins said they were going to eat him once they realized I was the one this Grol was looking for"
"Sildar? Yes, we... well, some of us anyway... found him and brought him back to Phandelin." Anton says, having caught his breath, as he reaches down to Gundren to help the dwarf to his feet. "He helped us locate you. We should get you back once you're in a position to travel." He pauses and rummages through his bag, pulling out a bottle of glowing pink liquid. "Here, this may help speed up the process," he says, handing him the healing potion. "There was someone else here, disguised as you... they ran off. Do you know who that was?"
Oh this is painful! 5xp away from the next level-up!
Lokk hesitated, but after giving the trail one last hard look, he takes off after Anton. He paced himself, and kept a look out for any other surprises along the way. When Lokk at last sees the dwarf, he sighs in relief and starts to approach him. The half-orc catches himself, and awkwardly plays off the motion as the start of a limbering up exercise.
"Or 'what', for that matter. Because short of a wizardry at work, there's no way there was time to change so drastically on the run."He comments on, finishing the exercise to focus on the armor. "It is good to see that you alright, Mister Gundrun. Here." He takes one of the hobgoblin's longsword and offers it to Gundrun after downing the potion. "After that ordeal, having some proper steel in hand will make you a feel a thousand times better I bet." Lokk half-grins, then goes to bundle up the salvageable platemail unless someone interferes.

OoC: Anton would love to upgrade to full plate, of course... anybody else interested? I think Ordrin is the only other person who can wear heavy armor.
"Hold on a sec! Albrek was working with the Redbrands under the name "Glasstaff". And he is a wizard! He changed me into a goblin for a short time. I bet he made himself look like Gundren so he could escape. We just missed him again! "
More than welcome to it. He just getting it ready for transport while we people converse.
"I heard about you lot and your exploits with the redbrands. Not much though, but a little. And -- Wait. You say this wizard turned you into a goblin? And he was working with them?" Lokk looks wide-eyed between pip and the others. "Someone powerful was here... Hmph! Guess we should count ourselves lucky that cowardice prevailed. Real question is -- Mister Gundrun? How do you want to proceed? Goblins are cowardly. And with that big guy dead, chances are they'll scatter. But if this glass staff feller is powerful enough to transform like so, chances are he can re-organize any we leave behind here."He asks the dwarf, then turns back to the others.
"Personally, I'd preferred to be off before this hornets nest we find ourselves in gets any more active. But, if Mister Gundrun gives the order, I'll join the rest of you lot in properly routing the rest."
"Could be a wizard. I only ever saw'r that big-fella Grol and his smelly goblin lackeys. Before we do anything, I need my map. That's what they nabbed me for. Someone named The Spider is trying to take the mine at Wave Echo Cave from me. Now, I don't know much about spiders, but I can't imagine he's going to share the prosperity. Me brothers and I found that old legendary mine, and with trade as it is these days Phandalin needs it to survive. I haven't heard of any Glasstaff but Grol mentioned a wizard once or twice. What does Albrek have to do with all this? He's our contact with the Lord's Alliance. Supposed to be helping us revitalize Phandalin. I'm pretty sure Grol put me map over here...."
Gundren walks over to the bed and lifts the disgusting mattress. Underneath he sees a stitched leather sack. He opens it up and it contains:
220 sp, 160 ep, 3 potions of healing
"Me map is gone! Please help me find it. It might be in this castle somewhere possibly? Alternatively we could go to Thundertree to see Reidroth. He can help us find it. I assume me brothers are already there getting started -- they had maps as well. I suppose the least I can do is offer you the rest of this sack as a reward for rescuing me, though it pains me to give away coin...."
"I'm not averse to clearing out some goblins, particularly if it will save us some trouble down the line. I would like a breather first though... I imagine I'm not the only one," Anton says, glancing at Leo.
Pip grabs the gold and potion. When he sees in the bound dwarf he calls to the other.
"Eh! There's another dwarf in here! He looks in trouble."
Pip carefully moves into that room watching out for enemies.
How much xp did we get from the owlbear?

"Aye, lad, aye," Ordrin says, glancing down at Leo. "Pip! Pip, is it Gundren?!"
OoC: Ordrin is pretty smart but lacking a little in social graces :)
"I dont know. It might be. Let me check!"
Pip continues into the room if it looks safe to do so. When he reaches the dwarf he'll remove the gag and give him a little shake to try and wake him up
"Eh! What's your name? "
The footprints at the start look pretty Dwarfy. You aren't sure about the latter ones, but they are definitely humanoid
120xp each for the Owlbear

Mixum follows Pip to help the captive.
"I think we need to hurry, there may be more in the area!"
