Dastrun begins to cackle wildly, "My name is Dastrun Sumarr, and I think we will get along beautifully" he says. He then follows behind the flame man chanting money over and over while doing a little dance.
Valen let out a sigh as Dastrun danced over to their new friend. "I'm Valen Amakiir. A pleasure to make your aquaintance." Leaning in closer to the Starfolk, he whispered, "Don't worry about Dastrun. He's a little weird like this sometimes."
"I figured as much, since it ran over to the warren upon seeing it, even though your material composition would prevent you from entering it. Processed warren materials cannot be entered by any, of course, but only Starkin can enter them in their natural state. And on top of that, the risks it was taking were rather high - there could have been a second Starbeast in there for all you lot knew."
Qlevvaln glances at Dastrun before whispering this response back to Valen.

Valen's eyebrows shot up. "A second- but how? Is there a shift in the material compostion of the Starbeasts that they achieve when entering their warrens? Wait, you can do this too? Er... Starkin extends to both Starfolk and Starbeasts, right? If I may ask, could you maybe... Show us?" Valen's eyes sparkled with excitement that he attempted to keep out of his voice. The elf hadn't been this excited since- well, since he had first learned magic. The mechanics of something otherworldly sparked a passionate flame deep within Valen Amakiir's heart.
"That material you see on the edge of a starbeast? It is the plasmic form of its usually solid body. Us starfolk are pretty much the reverse - primarily plasmic. Anyway, our matter becomes entirely plasmic when we push it against a warren. And yes, Starkin is the general term."
Qlevvaln shoves his hand into the star, and then pulls it back out.
By this time, you are close to the road where you left the oxen and first star you encountered.

Well, you do seem like you know something about this creatures, even though I do not understand most of what you mean. We are going to Whaelrdrake, one of the biggest communities around this area, they might have sages, or know where they are, who study this creatures that are assailing our land. You might be able to help them with your knowledge and your words might make more sense to them then to me at least, you are welcome to come with us.
Now back at the place the oxen are: We should start our journey readily for Whaelrdrake is still some miles away.
John starts checking his equipment and the cart carrying the starbeast.
"Now, to answer your question, Valen. Calling the moon a lump of rock was a bit rude, but with what is happening to it, it may as well be. I don't know much about the magic involved, but it would have to be created by someone as strong as a god. And yes, these, er... stars, these stars are where Starbeasts live, but us Starfolk are more nomadic. As for your sun, well, it isn't a warren, but it is processed warrenstone... er, starmetal?... in any case, it is a, what is the word? Palace, I think?"
On the road again, you check your map. You should reach the remains of a long ruined village not long before nightfall, but about five minutes down the road, you see some phase spiders running at you.
Roll initiative. Players (and Qlevvaln) win Initiative.
John perceives the phase spiders blink to existence in front of the group and as a trained soldier, even though his training was more of a back-liner then a front-liner, he was not surprised.
Instantly, almost at the same time the creatures show themselves, John reaches for his sun amulet, his holy symbol and uttering a prayer to the Keeper of Justice he asks for His blessing once more.
Lord of Light, Keeper of Justice, please bless my companions to fight this creatures that litter our countryside.
Friends, remember that this creatures have the power to blink in and out of existence, appearing at random positions! Be mindful of your flanks and backs and do not spread yourselves to much!
"Bless?" The idea intrigued Soolaire. The inspiration he felt was something different... a more spiritual connection with the Father-Dragon. Manifesting his sun fangs, he moved forward fifteen feet striking at the phase spider with his sun fang. The sun fang moved through the phase spider, but he could feel the attack affect the spider. "Your kind never learn a lesson once, do you?" he taunts.
OOC: 17 to hit, 12 psychic damage; 3 squares south of his current position.
"More of these, huh?" Valen spotted the phase spiders materializing in front of the group. He shifted his gaze towards the one on the far left (East in terms of the map), and stepped towards it. "Weave that permeates the worlds, gather yourself around me, and prepare me to fight those who would oppose my cause." Chanting the invocation for Mage Armor, Valen increased his defenses as he stepped up to the phase spider. "I'll be your dance partner for the evening," the elf said, engaging his Bladesong as he stood directly in front of the beast, ready to engage it.
[OOC: Action: Casting Mage Armor on himself. Movement: 1 square East, and 5 squares South of current position. BA: Engaging Bladesong. Current AC: 19. Spell slots expended: 1 1st-level.]
Seeing Chance take aim, Gideon quickly ran at the spider. As the Chance's arrow flew so to did Gideon come right up in front of the arachnid. While the creature was distracted by the pain from the arrow Gideon drew his sword cutting at one of the spider's eight legs.
(Slash attack: 20 (Unnatrual) / Damage: 10 / Directly in front of Phase Spider 1)

As the rest of his friends start attacking the phase spiders, Dastrun feels a combination of anger and dread, recalling the last encounter with the phase spiders. He rushes forward to Phase Spider 3, bringing his greataxe down towards it [Attack roll 13, Damage roll 12]. Qlevvaln, seeing his new allies fight these strange creatures, follows suit, pulling a revolver from its holster and Aiming [6 rounds]. A burst of sound goes off as a bullet flies through the air, striking Phase Spider 3 [Attack roll 23, Damage roll 13].
The phase spiders, annoyed that they were slow to the draw lash out in retaliation, but only Phase Spider 1 successfully hits their target (Dastrun), who succumbs to its poison, taking 13 damage. Valen's magic protects him from phase spider 3, and Soolaire is completely missed by phase spider 2. All three phase spiders vanish, jaunting to the ethereal plane.
Chance noticing the Phase Spiders vanish, moves 5 feet so that he is next to John and prepares himself to attack once more and also dodge out of the way if they attack him.
Following John's orders, Soolaire moves back fifteen feet. "As you command." he remarks subserviently. He takes a stance, holding both of his sunfangs close, guarding himself [+2 AC as a bonus action], and readied himself for when the phase spiders return.
OOC: Moved fifteen feet north, readied his Attack for when a phase spider is within range of him, and used a bonus action to gain +2 AC until his next turn [21 AC].
"Dammit," Valen muttered as the Phase Spider in front of him vanished. Pulling back to beside Qlevvaln, he prepared to cast Fire Bolt upon the first spider that reappeared within his line of sight- provided that it wasn't protected by an ally. "I hate it when they do that."
[OOC: Action: Prepared Fire Bolt to attack nearest spider that is not blocked by an ally.]
Dastrun begins to cackle wildly, "My name is Dastrun Sumarr, and I think we will get along beautifully" he says. He then follows behind the flame man chanting money over and over while doing a little dance.
