Andor has a clear line of fire on the barbarian that's running up the incline toward the altar and gong. The sorcerer's beam of blue light momentarily engulfs the barbarian, whose pace is immediately slowed. On the cavern floor, Ladrian aims through a narrow gap between Vigan and Carrow; his aim is true, and his bolt delivers the final blow to barbarian (#1) who collapses to the icy floor and breathes his last breath.
Moments later, Rixton's arrow strikes the massive gong with a loud clank, causing a deep, resonant tone to begin reverberating through the cavern. Sounds of cracking ice soon follow as the noise from the gong causes enormous icicles to break loose from the cavern ceiling and drop dangerously to the floor. One of the chunks of ice narrowly misses Carrow and one of the berserkers (square 48). Ice fragments fly for dozens and dozens of feet when the icicles hit the ground in various locations in the cavern.
One of the icicles, however, smashes into the cavern floor and creates a large opening in the ground (square 18), indicating an unexpected hollow space beneath the ice. Almost immediately, the head of a young remorhaz appears from the subterranean opening.
(Actions for Carrow and Vigan are next; barbarians and the young remorhaz will follow)
The raging barbarian finally manages to break through Vigan's defence, successfully slashing at him with his spear. The goliath jerks back in pain, fortunately so, as a greataxe blade slices through the air where he had been seconds before. With a roar, Vigan steps it up a gear, his glaive becoming a blur as he swings wildly at the barbarians in front of him.

WIth his first two swings of the glaive, Vigan dispatches the spear-wielding berserker. He then adjusts his footing and turns his blade on the one berserker who remains on the cavern floor. Twice more Vigan slashes through the hide armor of a barbarian foe.
Deftly blocking a spear the ranger watches as another foe is dispatched. Following Vigans lead the Half-Orc renews his efforts against the remaining barbarian berserker, hoping to kill it before the new threat arrives.
Carrow adds two more wounds to the berserker, who has now fully shaken off the effects of Andor's Hypnotic Pattern. After letting out an eerie battle cry, the barbarian lunges at the ranger with his spear...
Melee spear attack: 19 | Piercing damage: 6
The other remaining berserker, at last, reaches the top of the incline, where he glances first at Rixton and then at Andor as he considers his next course of action.
Meanwhile, a few hundred feet away, the young remorhaz has crawled out of its underground home and begun to advance toward Carrow, Ladrian, and Vigan. As it does so, a the head of a second young remorhaz suddenly appears behind the first.

Rixton:
I slide 20 feet in the direction of the barbarian (#5), eyeing him for a tell. I decide he is slightly blind in his left eye, so fire to that side of him. I aim for his ribs.

Deception check for barbarian 5, contesting Rixton's insightful fighting: 3
Rixton waits for the opportune moment, releasing his shot when the berserker's attention is directed at Andor. His arrow plunges deep into the barbarian's thigh.
Launching another freezing ray he looks to keep the berserker moving slowly, giving them a little more time to work out what to do as he then moves a little bit further away. Calling over to Rixton he says "So is that giant gong what we are looking for? If so how the hell are we getting it out of here?"
"Hey, over here!" The goliath attempts to attract the berserker's attention as he thrusts at Carrow, before sweeping his glaive low towards him.

Out of the corner of his eye, Vigan spies movement to his right, and his eyes widen when he sees not one but two (allbeit smaller versions) of the monsters like the one they so recently killed. His mind quickly associates their appearance with a gong, and the icicles. "Rixton! What in the Nine Hells are you doing up there?"
For a second time, Andor's Ray of Frost strikes the berserker that has reached the upper level of the cavern. Vigan's glaive continues to slice through the berserkers on the cavern floor; three more times his glaive makes it past the barbarian's defenses. Despite the significant damage he has sustained, the barbarian maintains his grip on his spear and seems committed to remaining in the fight.
Ladrian takes careful aim at the berserker, and his shot sinks deep into his ribs. The barbarian drops his spear, falls to one knee, and, then, collapses lifeless to the floor.

(Posting Carrow's action)
The ranger, standing at the midpoint between the one remaining barbarian and the nearest remorhaz, decides to try his luck at a firing two arrows at the greater threat--the young remorhaz...
Longbow attack 1: 20 | Piercing damage: 6
Longbow attack 2: 18 | Piercing damage: 5
Despite the disadvantage created by the distance between the remorhaz and himself, Carrow hits the monster twice.
Both young remorhazes, fully focused on the adventurers that stand a few hundred feet away, quickly begin to cover the icy ground with their many legs. The barbarian abandons whatever notion he had in his head; he turns around a dives face first onto the icy slope and slides rapidly toward the cavern floor.

Rixton:
Well, the barbarian is welcome to flee. With more pressing concerns, I slip and dash 40' towards the altar, then plant my feet and attempt a long, arcing shot at the lead remorhaz.

Carrow
"Big man, remember the heat, keep your distance from these things" Raising his voice now he alerts the team "Andor they will be resistant to your Ice spells" he looks now to Vigan "Big man move this way we try bottleneck them on the ramp" Moving towards Ladrian now he refocuses on the lead Remorhaz. Running his thumb and fore finger down the bow string he cuts himself as small thorns appear along its edge.
BA: Hail of Thorns LVL2 (Not in range for hunters mark)
"What do you think this is for?" Vigan waves his glaive at the ranger with a smile. Knowing he can't do anything this far away from the monsters, he turns and runs towards Ladrian.
