The woman smiles at Vondal at the use of her name. "That's right." After he asks about Sildar, she says, "Yes, Sildar came by. He and Toblen spoke a while. He's trying to organize some kind of watch. My husband is very scared of the Redbrands. He hasn't wanted to stir up trouble. And after what happened with Thel Dendrar ... " she says, pausing. Then, to explain, she continues, "He was a local woodcarver who stood up to the Redbrands a tenday ago when they came by his shop and leered at his wife. The ruffians murdered him. Several townsfolk saw it happen. The Redbrands grabbed his body, and now his wife, daughter, and son have gone missing too.”
Halia scowls as Nif's words. "Never managed to find him? Did you even look?!" She eyes the two up and down. "Well, I shouldn't have expected more, I guess," she grumbles. "So, what do you want from me? Have you just come to ruin my day with your bad news? I'm busy. I don't have time for this."
The Gold Dwarf didn't know whether to smile or frown at the news, so he settled for a more solemn expression as he went to hold her hand and pat it with his other. "The rest of the Dendrars are safe. We saw to it, as well as the rescue of your... Townmaster. It's... bit of a story. Suffice it to say, we needed to find Sildar to help make sure they stay that way. So that all can be safe again. A few of my brother's are speaking to Halia as well. Hoping she might be able to help encourage folk to band together, and see to it any remaining Redbrands in town are made unwelcome here, or to amend there ways, at very least."He explains, letting go by then if he successful at all to begin with.
"Which is why any clues you can give us of where Sildar went next, assuming he isn't-..." Vondal looks towards the back of the place. "-here still discussing things would be greatly appreciated."

"And no mention of where to.." Vondal sighs. "I see. Well when they get back, 'nd we have found them yet, let them know... hm... Let him -- Sildar, that is, know we'll see him back at the Townmaster Hall." The dwarf motions for Zander to follow if the man hadn't decided to find a chair to pass out into. In such a case, he'll just smirk and see about carrying him back up to the rooms at that point before going to catch up with his brothers as originally planned.
(@DDP: Somehow I managed to forget Droop again. Is she following along, or hanging out in townhall still? Because might just stop by there to pick her up if so.)

Vondal stops back into the Townmaster's Hall. Cyrine quickly stands again, her face immediately displaying worry. When Vondal inquires about Droop, Cyrine replies, "She left saying something about wanting to get home." She gives a slight shrug, but still looks worried.
"I let her leave my sight for only a few minutes." Vondal quietly chides himself, then lets out a sigh of defeat. "Probably for best, though there goes one partial lead at least." He shakes his head and clicks his tongue. "Ah well! You have my thanks, Lady Cyrine. If Sildar or Young Harbin comes back this way, let them know we will be back soon. There is much we need talk about now that Redbrand's little kidnapping ring has been mostly dismantled."He gives a polite bow, but hustles off towards Halia's place of business looking more tired than ever yet determined all the same.

Aldrom follows Vondal and when they left towards Halia's place he comments
" Nasty bussines these Redbrands. I am happy to see that you are determined to end them though. You can count with me. I've learned that humans, and certanly elves, prefer to talk to other races than us. I don't know why, for everyone knows we darwes have the higher common sense, but who can truly understand them. My point is, perhaps we could use young Cyrine or someone prone to help us to make some questions around? "
Vondal jumps in surprise, and then turns to Aldrom holding his chest. A half-abandon "You're sure you're a-..."dies on his tongue as Aldrom spoke his piece. "Well, that's sort of the idea, isn't? Problem is, the few folk me and brothers know around town -- at least those in any position to have the words heard is either busy being missing, having a crisis of faith in self, or... well, I don't know about Halia yet. But, hopefully brothers have worked out something with her by time we get there." He explains.
"Cyrine is... a lovely young Lady, but you've seen how skittish she is. And unfortunately, aside from Lady Alderleaf or Sister Garele, we don't know many much more people around town that would even entertain speaking both with us and on our behalf. And both of them have their own business to deal... with..." Vondal eyes go wide at an ephiphany. "Our cart! We never did find it again! And then there's the...."He pinches the bridge of his nose. "The bodies... Know what? No. Not gonna give those another thought. We're just gonna meet up with me brothers, and figure out what we're doing next."
"You're right about the young lad "says the Aldrom as they walk looking for Vondal's brothers " it wouldn't hurt her some hardening, if you follow me... "
(OOC: If I'm correct and Nif is correct, Vondal is enroute (see Post 1473) to the Miner's exchange with the letters he collected which I think is the one from 6 March Post #1151.)
"We never managed to capture or even find Glasstaff but I am pretty sure one of my companions has collected some of his correspondence as we found laboratory and office."
"Yeah that's right we did find a letter to a bloke called Lord Albrek - who I don't know from Adam - from another bloke callin' 'imself the Black Spider, leastways that was the picture he drew. Maybe he can't spell 'is own name. Anyway it says that some strangers are gunna arrive, I'm guessin' that's us and we're gunna be working for the dwarves and we gotta be stopped so as we don't wreck their plans. That make any sense to you, cos it don't to me." Karl says in response to Nif's none to subtle prompting
"Did you say Lord Albrek?" a voice asks from the front door. Sildar with Toblen close behind enters the Miner's Exchange. When Karl affirms what he said, Sildar's scowl turns into confusion. "Iarno Albrek is who I came to Phandalin to find. He is a member of the Lord's Alliance."
"The Lord's Alliance?" Halia asks. "I thought they are all law-and-order types. From what the dwarf says, it sounds like this Albrek is up to no good."
Sildar continues to scowl. "Where is this correspondence?" he asks Karl.
"Ah! There you are, Lord Sildar! We've been look'n all over for you!" Vondal says, failing or choosing not to hide any relief as he slides inside to join the rest. "Good to see you, Mr. Toblen. And you as well, Lady Halia. Judging by the looks on your face, you've already heard at least part of news?" He asks, looking to her hopeful, then to Nif and Karl worriedly. Seeming to remember himself, he clears his throat and says, "I don't know how much 'as already been shared. But we have many things need saying." He furrows his brows and hesitates for a moment before adding, "One of which... well... one of which involve a certain Townmaster whose been having second thoughts about staying. Managed to convince his wife to try and talk sense into him. But fear it is only delay things on that front."

Zander follows Vondal, looking a lot better than before now that he's had his beauty rest. It doesn't look as if he'll pass out again.
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
The last place Vondal saw Droop was at the Townmaster's Hall.
(@DDP: Then he stops by there for a look around. Boy, what a stressful... is it still morning? afternoon?)

"Good riddance," Toblen says quietly. When he catches Sildar's eye, he shrugs unabashedly.
