Vondal grumbles at both Halia and Toblen's responses despite having expected nothing less. "That was the impression given, yes, Lord Sildar. Whether he follows through or not-..." He eyes the duo again. "I cannot say. But such would leave gap in leadership, poor though it may have been. Which is a problem if any remaining red brands decide to do something a little more bold 'fore leaving town... assuming that do even that." He explains as papers are hopefully exchanged from the others.
Seeing them, Vondal's eyes light up from an epiphany. But he curtly shakes his head and goes on to say, "In any case, speaking of Glasstaff. In our... investigation we discovered it was a gift, not person, apparently delivered to Lord Alberk from a Black Spider through some goblins. Same person whose saw to original employer's capture, and quite possibly his brothers given their own disappearance." He ends on a solemn note. "Though it is hope they merely went to ground."

Sildar reads the letters a couple times, then scowls at the wall. Vondal, not one for leaving silences unfilled, also summarizes what happened in the Redbrand hideout. "We need to get to the bottom of this," Sildar says finally. "Iarno needs to be captured and transported to Neverwinter to face the judgment of a higher authority. You must find Cragmaw Castle. That is our best bet." The old soldier withdraws his purse and hands 200 gold to Vondal. "Thank you for your work in ending the Redbrand threat. Even if there are still some stragglers, they should be manageable with Glass ... Iarno in hiding. I can pay you another 500 gold reward if you can locate Cragmaw Castle. You might find the castle by searching the lands around the Triboar Trail for more raiding parties."
"So, the Redbrands are no more?" Halia asks. "That's good news," she says.
"Sounds like we have a porpouse, don't we? I would like to take some rest before going to a trip field though, and probably a bath or two did good to me eh?"he smiles.
Vondal's eyes widens feeling the weight of the coin, but quickly recovers and stands up straighter at the bounty. "Rest would be lovely, indeed." He grins to Aldrom. "It is good thing that we other business we can take care of while walking trail involving banshee."The gold dwarf frowns and tugs at the side of his beard. "There's also the matter of those Orcs as well. I... If in the process of cleaning house, Lady Halia and Lord Sildar -- assuming of course the Townmaster decides to abandon his duties-..."
Vondal's face scrunches up in distaste at the very phrase at the end. "If any coin or the like is found perhaps pertaining to Harbin's original posting that is not needed elsewhere... annnd we happen to return with proof of having dealt with that while at it, I do not suppose some can thrown our way upon return?" He asks, looking hopeful.

Sildar looks at Toblen. "We should look into this Wester business." Turning back to Vondal, he says, "If you've a deal with the Townmaster, it shall be honored, no matter who's holding court." The old soldier gives Halia a nod, then looks at the dwarves and Zander. "Good day." He and Toblen exit the Miner's Exchange. Halia sighs. "What a disappointment," she comments quietly, turning away from the others.
"Androm's got the right idea, lets get cleaned up, get a beer and discuss how we find this Cragmore Castle 'cos I don't know about you lot but I didn't see a signpost to it as we approached the village!"Karl says .

"Well, its as he said, Uncle. It'll be up to luck for a while. But fortune favors us with tasks in area that can be done along way." He expresses. Noting Halia's last comment however, he goes up to her and says, "Do not worry, Halia. Whether indirectly or not, we promised to see to Glassstaff. And that is just what we will do in time. A proper dwarf always honors their agreements. This, we will show you."Vondal smiles softly in encouragement. Aside from lingering long enough from a response, he readily follows the others presumably back to the Inn.
Along the way Vondal makes mention of intending to see the coin split once they are in their room... and of the body of their other Brother, awaiting transport back to Neverwinter. Short of Karl or Nif raising a stink over it, Vondal splits the gold 5 ways for a total of 40 dragons each to everyone.
Aldrom will excuse himself while he takes a bath and let the dirt and dired blood of the last days wash away. He also spend some minutes cleaning and polishing his armor and weapons, and brooming his beard. Only after he has been able to gett if presentable he rejoins the others.
"Well, It will require some time now to recover my beard splendor but it should have to suffie for now." he says passing his hand over it while looking in a mirror of the bath. It seems that he takes very seriously to take care of his aspect. Specially if there are non-darwes around.
He speaks to the others in dwarvish.
"So I must thank you again for your appearance and much appreciated help down there with those ruffians. Now, for all that I've heard, even if I am not sure of who was who I understand that you are still looking for some of them and their leader. May Moradin make me lost my beard if I ever let down brave darwes like you my lads. I will go with you and we see the end of this Redbrands and their schemes together. " he raises his mug of beer " This round is on me!"he proclaims to the table
Nif will clean up once back at the tavern. Then he heads down to the dining hall and joins the others. He nods in thanks to the offer of the first round. "Let me pay for the second then. Now this Glasstaff person, and Cragmaw castle. How do we propose to find them?"
"Well I'd better stand the third round then"Karl says. He looks over at Zander with a malicious but friendly grin and says "just so I know what I'm up for - will you be having a third round?"

Once all the gold was attended to Vondal sees to his own affairs. Starting with checking on their brothers body and ending with a bath that took longer than most despite rustic accomadations. One tortorous wounding tending later however, he joins the others with the dwarven book he found under one arm, and his only arms being his fist and chaff cutter.
"Eh, not to bring mood down. But no drinks for me. Stuff has the tendacy to hit us gold dwarfs a wee sideways then most. And I am no mood to get lost in old memories."He admits, chuckling good-naturedly. "But if there's to be a fourth, I'll pay for it." Vondal plops the book on the table and starts giving its first few ink stained pages a gloss over. "As for finding Iarno and Cragmaw castle. I've given it a bit more thought, 'nd have... one solution to make it easy."His expression hardens as he looks up. "There is deal with priestess. Could be this banshee may know of this Cragmaw castle. Problem is, we may only 'ave one shot at questioning her. And as part of deal, it is to be put to trading comb for location of spellbook." He snaps his fingers. "Speaking of spellbook -- Zander! Might have that other one to study we got from cave?"
"Now most know how I feel 'bout honoring deals. So, if got suggestion of something to offer someone vain for additional knowledge, then I am all ears. If not, there are other options. The Orcs, for instance. Chances are they too have run afoul of these more organized goblins. So could be one of their more *snorts* learned ones has info on location of great concentration of them. Many at very least, we keep that one alive to talk... The last two options are... well, long shots, to say least. And that is to more proactively search trail for signs of hobs, OR... we speak to Miss Qelline Alderleaf again."
At Vondal's comments, Halia raises her eyebrows at him. "Yes ... well, I guess that remains to be seen," she says in an even tone.
Back at the inn, after everyone has cleaned up, the four dwarves and one pale-skinned human gather, their stomachs beginning to complain. A brown-haired barmaid approaches, a friendly smile on her face. "Supper, everyone?" she asks.
Over the course of the evening, whether by reading the entire thing quickly or by skimming thoroughly, Vondal finds that the book is the journal of an adventurer named Urmon. It describes the history of the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Forge of Spells.
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
In addition, Urmon records that a magic mace named Lightbringer was commissioned by priests of Lathander, the god of dawn, from the mages working with the gnomes and dwarves of the Phandelver’s Pact. The mace was lost when Wave Echo Cave and its mine vanished from history.
Adrom stops drinking and eating when Vondal reads the book.
"Moradin's Beard!" he says " I wouldn't believe if I wouldn't here sitting with you. Once we clear this Cragmaw Castle form its bandit infection we should look for this place if it is nearby as your story suggest. We could rediscover an important place for dwarves and pieces of our history! Can I have this book? I will guard it until we can take to a proper library"he says excited.
"Yes, Miss Stonehill. Super for all us." He, if not someone else in the party calls ounce good and ready for it. Much later, Vondal seems reluctant at first, but relentless and passes on the book with a sigh. "That would be for the best. Much as I would like to keep it. But keep it secret, and keep it safe. For I think... I think this may be what attracted them to Gundrun. Lord Iarno and this 'Spider'." He admits in dwarvish, then looks to Zander eagerly again for the spellbook.
