After looking through the available gear, Einar turns back to Raphlane with a question?
"Ye would'n happen to have any spare barrel lids about the place, would ye? Somethin' I could use to make a rough shield?"

Raph thinks for a moment and then shrugs. "Think so," he says, walking out of the back room. He shuffles down one side of the storeroom, his eyes scanning the various piles and collections. "Oh!" he says, quickening his pace. "Over there," he says, squeezing between two crates to reach the other side of the room. Three barrels are lined up against the wall. A fourth barrel lies beside them in pieces. It looks like one of the bands broke and the whole structure burst due to the weight of the contents. Raph picks up the lid, which was leaning against the wall, and holds it out toward Einar. "This do?"
How are you going to make a shield out of the lid? I will a general idea and then a roll. Since you're not proficient in anything that would help you construct a shield out of spare parts, it's a straight roll. Depending on your roll, I'll let you know how effective the shield is going to be.
OOC: The simplest way to do it would be to cut a couple notches around the rim of the lid and use some rope to craft handles. If he has time (and a good enough roll) he might carve a couple holes in the center of the lid to make a smaller handle that would be less easily cut. I'm not expecting it to last very long in melee but it could prove helpful against arrows or other ranged projectiles.
Shield Crafting Check:14
Einar accepts the lid gratefully and responds with,
"That should work just about perfect. Thank ye kindly, Sir."

OOC: Loaded with supplies as it is, is there any room on the cart for a couple riders? I don't expect we all can ride, but if we can start a rotation of walkers and riders, that would make for an easier trip, I think.
After receiving the lid from Raphlane, Einar will make his way back to the cart and begin checking that the oxen's harnesses are properly fitted. When that is done, he will check to make sure the ropes tying down the supplies are secure. Once everything is set, he will take up the reigns of the cart, ready to make way.

There's room for two on the "driver's seat" and then room for at least two in the back among the supplies. It wouldn't be the most comfortable of rides, but it would save having to walk. The oxen won't be moving that quickly, so it wouldn't be out of the question to walk along beside.

"Who want's shotgun?" Karl says. "Me, I'm for the back, much easier to get down if I've gotta clear the way if ya know what I mean" he continues as he places the The Pacifier on his shoulder.

Vondal is ready too! But, he holds off on hoping onto the cart. "If your asking that, Einar, I think I'll keep my feet firmly planted on the ground, thank you very much. Could use the exercise anyways."He lets out a hearty chuckle. Despite his words, Vondal sets his bow and quiver onto the back for easy reach in an emergency. "Ah~ Its been so long since I had a proper walk that wasn't cut short by traffic or incident."

With Einar at the reigns, Bron beside him, Karl riding in back, and Vondal and Nifeltay walking along beside, the cart begins rolling forward. They drive the cart through the streets of Neverwinter and finally exit the south gate to travel the High Road in the direction of Leilon and Waterdeep. The day is as pleasant and uneventful as can be hoped for. Throughout the day, they pass the remnants of a few campsites, and wonder if any of them were Gundren's. At about an hour before sundown, they decide to pull over into an old campsite for the night. It's about 50 feet off the main road with a good amount of trees on three sides. A fire pit is available with a few logs encircling it.
First thing after stopping, Einar will see about unhitching the oxen and tying them off to a strong tree to let them graze. If there is a nearby source of water, he will take a bucket or two to fetch some water for the animals as well. He calls out, to no one in particular, as he does so.
"Someone get a fire going an see about cooking some of that bacon."

Karl calls out "you know I never did learn to cook worth a damn and can actually burn water, so I'll take first watch - safer for all round that way". He quickly sets ups his bedroll and then starts to patrol the edge of the campsite keeping an eye on the woods and the road.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Once the reach the campsite, Nif wraps his cloak around himself and lights the fire (if required; survival 2). He then walks over to a tree, getting out his crossbow and some bolts. "Uncle, wake me up when you want a rest, I will take the next watch. You guys do no want me to cook, and I might as well make use of these extra sharp eyes" Nif says with a chuckle, and then goes silent, his thoughts to himself.

Does room for at least two = three. If so we can all pile on the cart and nobody walks?

Satisfied that everything is well and secure, Einar calls out to the others as he grabs the reigns.
"Alrigh', you lot. Time ta mount up. I'll drive until lunch, but I need a volunteer that I can show how to manage the reigns."
Einar gives the others at most five minutes to hop aboard. Anyone not on the cart at that time will have to walk as the cart starts off.
