"Pah, I knew magic were ne'er any good." Drazzim says, looking at the spell scroll. He knows that people can write spells onto paper, but only other spellcasters can use the. "If your business is the reason there's any danger here, we'll be having words after this." He tells Buhrell in a menacing low tone.
Andmarir looks to Marfaen and blinks surprisingly. " I am well over a hundred but when you have lived most of your life in forest, you pretty much know how it is and how it acts. This is the third time I been in a city and the other two times did not go so well. I figured because I was not saying anything to anyone and stayed in a corner, so this time I was going to try to speak to others. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer the open air over a stuffy city any day. Plus how are you going to find out what is going on in the area if on occasion you don't come out and talk."
Then he looks back to Graxx and listens to his words intently. " Yes, seen them and decided not to ask directions from them. As for this thieves guild, just look for no ears and stay away from them. That sounds easy enough, thank you for the advice." Yet he still does not keep his eyes off the crowd now, looking for lost ears.
Then the big half orc females sits and starts to speak. He looks at her for a bit, then he tilts his head slightly. " How do we know that who you say you are is the truth? Why us and no one else?" He may now be more on the defensive, yet he grabs his drink and starts to drink from it, yet still looking around.

Putting down his mug of mead, Utar looks at the half orc female, trying to read her, determine if she's telling the truth.
"Let's say that your claim is true, which is not the same as me saying it is. How would we know that whatever we find in this tavern is the item you're looking for? You said it yourself, you don't know what it is, you don't know what it does. How do we know we've not found some lordling's family trinket and handed it over to damn Welcomers?"
Marfaen is interested in hearing her, but he doesn't seem like it, as his eyes wander on the room and ceiling. He notices the Scroll on the table (which I assume is the table with the 5 of the old group in it.), and gets up to take a look over it, he goes back, and flips really quickly in his book, looking for something that called his attention. "Oh, that spell. I think I already have it here, the effect does sound similar."
He closes the book, apparently not finding what he wanted, and turns to Andmarir. "Sure, we don't need to make a discussion about that, I have my opinion, and I'll stick to it, but you can have the one you want." And noticing the suspiciousness of the party, he decides to say, still looking calm. "I don't think it's right to rise that much suspicion over someone offering adventure, wasn't that what was supposed to be finding us here? I'm not naive, though, so you don't need to start teaching how to do that as well."
"It's not so much suspicion as it is trying to be well-informed. Furthermore, she spoke to someone in, or someone who has connections with, my clan. As far as I'm concerned, she has no reason to deceive us. " Neya replies, arms folded with a finger resting on the card on her sleeve. "We don't speak with just anyone."
Andmarir listens to them all but continues to drink his beverage. Then starts to eat his food, since it's right there and he is rather hungry. In the middle of eating he nods here and there. " If your group would like the help in this, most likely myself and Marfaen here can cover ya from over here if need be. Though, it seems we have got ourselves into something I have no clue about, but I'll do my part.... with bow or blade if need be."
Rag will indeed have the Mutton. Rag is small for even a halfling at bairly 2 1/2 feet tall and brown hair and blue eye. You notice a rather nice Cloak he is wearing that is now looks like small gems of all types cover it from hood to tail. On closer examination you see they are not actual gems but just fashioning to look like so. Rag will sit and listen.
“Does your clan always treat their contacts with so much suspicion?” She asks, looking at Neya. “I was under the impression we had an implicit business agreement here. Or at least that’s what this little game with the playing cards led me to believe. This one seems to agree” she points at Marfaen.
Turning her attention to Utar, “And if you can’t distinguish between a powerful cursed magic item and some enchanted bauble, then I’m the one who should be worried about who I’m recruiting to aid me in this mission. My ears are well in place as well, my kin. Do not mistake me for that ‘welcoming’ riff-raff.”
Finally, to the entire group she adds “Innocents are in danger of losing their lives if we do not act. There should be no more noble calling than to prevent that from happening. I call you to action. Make use of the damn scroll and let us waste no more time on petty suspicions!”
She seems to be genuinely afraid of a potential catastrophe happening here. No telltale signs of a lier can be found in her expressions or mannerisms. She does, indeed, have two intact ears.

"Good enough for me."
Graxx will down his remaining drink.
"I'll get the attention of the folks so you can do your wizard stuff."
If possible, Graxx will walk to the table closest to the center that has people wearing head wear. He will remain standing and say to the table loudly.
"Didn't your ma's ever tell you not to wear stuff on your head in someone's home? Now quit disrespectin' this place and take your sandstone lovin' hats offs or I'll peel them off for you!"
"Oh, of course not. Because me and my partner are old friends of your party, and we didn't just meet in the bar at all." Marfaen tries to joke with a sarcastic phrase, but seeing the seriousness in the woman bringing the news, he gulps down, and tries to act more serious.
"Oh, thank you for recognizing my effort in being understandable... That sounds serious, you can count my help in, that's for sure." He then takes a quick scan over the scroll, trying to see if it is as familiar as it sounds, and he does notice that it is a spell he already has. Even though, in his book, it's a lot more focused on using drawings rather than actually use words, really, the only things written there are the verbal components.
"Oh, I apologize...!" Taken aback and realizing her error, Neya chokes on her current bite a bit and recomposures herself. Yes, these cards do act as a contract. I was hoping to relay to the others at this table that their presence was a sign of utmost trust between us. I did not mean to imply the opposite in any capacity."
Graxx approaches the busy table he had singled out before. Five people seem to be involved in some sort of high stakes impromptu gambling:
GAMBLING TABLE
A rat-looking halfling is about to throw a handful of dice on the table. A burly female dragonborn is anxiously awaiting the result, as if she was the halfling's opponent. Two half-elves are betting on the game, but seem to be waiting for their turns otherwise. An old, bearded gnome watches over the game, smoking a twisty pipe.
The half-elves, who are each wearing some sort of head-wear, watch Graxx speak ill of their manners and simply respond "Bugger off" in unison, which is apparently hilarious because they start laughing loudly right afterwards.
Meanwhile, Blaizette is coming back to your tables balancing a cup of tea for Marfaen and a serving of the mutton combo for Rag. As soon as she serves the pair, she smiles. "Oye, you keep adding people to you table. Well, more tips I guess... What would you like tonight, mam" she asks Buhrell. The half-orc finishes acknowledging Andmarir's, Marfaen's and Drazzim's agreement, as well as Neya's appology and then responds to Blaizette "A moment of yours and the matron's time, for starts. I'd like to ask if you have seen anything suspicious here tonight. This is important, I beg that you collaborate." A bit startled, Blaizette nods and says "Ahmm .. alright, I'll ask my ma. This sounds serious. I'll take you to her."
Buhrell then leaves the table with Blaisette and goes to speak with her and Madame Freona in the back. She turns before moving too far "It looks like most of you are in agreement now. I'm leaving you the scroll so you can focus on other patrons of the Tea Kettle and on finding that cursed item. Do not delay this any further. I'll question our hostesses... they ought to know their patrons better than anyone else."

" Marfaen, just go ahead and use the scroll, don't have time for a ritual casting." As he nods towards Graxx . " Seems he is already in the process of stirring the pot."
Half the food gone and half the beverage, he stands up as he takes a long breath. Then he grabs bow and his face becomes serious, plus it looks like he got older all of the sudden. Now he starts to look for a nice high spot he can perch upon.
You seem to be a bit too focused on gathering your bow and making sure you are ready for whatever happens. You can't really identify any high spots with your eyes at the moment, but it is safe to assume you could stand on a table or a bar counter. You also hear music, so there is perhaps a stage somewhere around?
"But-... It's for the group to decide, they're the ones that contact was looking for, and I know not everyone there trusts us yet. If I don't find anything, they'll possibly throw more suspicion onto me because of that." He takes the scroll, but still offers to the party to take it.
Marfaen is not waiting for a majority of votes on who is taking it, as soon as someone who can cast the ritual offers to use in his place, he someone it to them, and sits back at his seat to start making his ritual (10 min and 6 seconds).
If they all agree that he should use it, he so will do, and walk around trying to find the object.
(I'm trying to make the most I can from just one message, because tomorrow I'll not have a lot of time.)
Utar sighs, "She seems convinced of the danger. I guess we should be too, Torm protect us." He stands gathering up his warhammer which until now had been propped against the wall behind the table.
"I'm going to follow those too," he adds, nodding in the direction Blaizette and Buhrell have just gone, "Convince Madame Freola to lock this place down before we go after our magical needle in a haystack."
Then then begins to meander through the crowds towards the bar.
"Pah, I knew magic were ne'er any good." Drazzim says, looking at the spell scroll. He knows that people can write spells onto paper, but only other spellcasters can use the.
