Andmarir kind of gets the hint that his approach was rather too direct and she did not appreciate it. So, he lets her eat a bit as he takes a look around, then goes back to the food tester guy and leans in once again. " I'm curious, that bag of spice you got there, will it put any spice you like or is it random? I'm curious because I need to impress a young wood Elf over by the fireplace and I think I will if that spice bag will help. I'll give ya a silver if you lend it to me. Wait, I'll go as high as a gold, it's all I got to give." Andmarir is trying his best to be nice or at least nicer as he speaks, though the distraction of finding who ever it is keeps him from paying to much attention to etiquette.
Drazzim seems a little perplexed that the door to the tavern is locked, then shrugs, unceremoniously dumping the ratty figure into a chair, then meeting up with the others. "One less issue to care about." He comments. "Right, where were we?"
Utar takes his second ale and drinks it down in long slow pulls.
Constitution - 19
Gasping for breath, the mug is returned to the bar, and Utar grasps the amulet about his neck. Again, asking for Torm's guidance, the amulet glows, his hand attempting to muffle it.
Putting another two silver pieces onto the bar, Utar carefully watches the hands on the human as he carries out his deception.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Marfaen walks around the room, taking a second look at the items that he suspects may be dangerous, particularly the table with the couple dating, since in the table there were multiple magical sources there. He approaches the table, trying not to be noticed, and trying to make out the information he can out of what the items are, and if he remembers anything about their magical prowess.
"Thanks for the good time, ladies. Have a fun evening!" Neya says as she stands up.
Neya goes up to the bar and flags down Mistress Freona, "I'm wondering... if someone was targeting this place, why only here and tonight, specifically...? Is there something special about any aspect of the Tea Kettle's services tonight?"
(OOC: Please note that the item you got from Halda is a single die. Magical yes, but still just one).
You catch Halda by surprise with your headbutt and she falters. Touching the blood now spurting from her forehead, she looks you right in the eye for a brief moment before bearing her fangs. Her fight-or-flight instinct reversed, she tries to slash you with her dragon claws.
-> Claw attack (melee weapon attack with advantage) vs. Graxx: Attack: 15 Damage: 1 slashing. With your rage subsided, this cut actually pricks you a bit.
(OOC: Unless this gets more involved, lets just take turns as before, no need for initiative).
NEYA
Esma continues to blab into eternity, barely breathing or giving you a chance to chime in. Almost nothing of what she says seems relevant to the task at hand, but some things stick out to you. At some point she brags about her "...beautiful indestructible dress...", but quickly goes back into talking about others. She complains about a tiefling man who works in a stall outside the Tea Kettle but is now leaning into the inn through an open window trying to sell flowers to the crowded place's patrons. She also points out a small dwarven girl running around the tavern floor wearing a necklace made of some stinky yellow flowers sold to her likely by the man leaning on the window. "They are called safflowers", she says with disgust. She also eventually complains about the "...folly of young girls...", falling in love with older gentlemen, and points to the southwestern corner table where just that exact scene seems to be taking place. Overall, she just seems to like complaining.
(OOC: Based on your extensive listening and Esma's talking, you may attempt an arcana check to see if you can deduce what she has described concerning her dress. As for the persuasion roll, no need for a roll on this one actually, as Madame Freona is very cooperative).
At this point you thank the ladies for their conversation and stand up. You approach Madame Freona as she finishes pouring Utar's next drink (see relevant part of this post below). She pulls you aside to the other end of the bar and says "I take it you are with the half-orcs? Well, nothing too special here apart from our réputation, really. This is known as the endroit in town to close business deals, come to an accord. Many of our invités get job offers while dining here. Apart from that, we are just like any other auberge in town. Well, not like Nat Wyler's Bell, but like most others..."
ANDMARIR
(OOC: I'm not sure what that perception roll was for, but as for your persuasion check...)
Schuyler, the professional food taster, is still in disbelief regarding your chaotic approach and reaction to his offer of polite conversation. Unsure of how to react, he simply raises his magical spice pouch and says in a monotone and incredulous voice. "Hmm... Reach in and grab a pinch of the powder while thinking of the spice you want, then leave. The pouch stays here, as does the gold piece you promised."
DRAZZIM & RAG
(OOC @RagnerMonk: It's been a while since we last heard from you, so I'll be putting Rag on autopilot for now so that his end of the adventure/investigation doesn't fall too far behind everyone else's. I hope you can rejoin us soon!)
In response to Drazzim's question, Rag says while pointing to an old gnome smoking a twisty pipe just three feet away: "This one here wants to leave the Tea Kettle, but I was left in charge of watching the door. What do you think?" The gnomish elder smiles and adds "I mean no harm... just trying to get home. My bones are not the same as they once were." He puffs a perfectly shaped smoke bear out of his interesting looking pipe. Rag then shares with you that the gnome has been puffing different expertly crafted smoke beasts from his pipe for some time now.
(OOC @pokepaladdy: I'll count this as you conferring with Rag on what this gnome's magic item may be. Feel free to RP this as you wish, but you can also roll an arcana check to try to deduce what item that is, as others have done. The DC depends on the item's rarity).
UTAR
(OOC: I take it you are saving you Guidance die for now?)
The second mug of ale goes down steadily (the next one would be {DC11}). As Madame Freona pours a third round, Buhrell enters the bar from one of the rooms behind it and nods toward you as to inform you and the Madame that her children are safe, and that all other back doors have been locked, as you had planned.
Once the pouring of beverages is complete, your competitors add their share of silver to the pile. The human does his little ritual with hands on pockets followed by a hand-wave atop the mug (sleight of hand: 14).
You see him pick some sort of spongy bead from his pant pocket and drop it within his mug. You deduce that he has been doing this for many rounds now, including against previous opponents as he looks just as sober as his teammate. (At this point, you could either confront him or try another arcana check to try to conclude what this item may be).
MARFAEN
Leaving Utar to his drinking, you head over to the southwestern corner table. You try to be as quiet as possible and it seems it has worked, as the couple continues their conversation unabated. The Detect Magic spell effects are still in place, so you can tell that there are probably two separate magic items within the older man's bag. Unfortunately, without any direct visuals, you are unable to determine any more details about them at the moment. It seems you might have to get those items in the open before determining their use.
Andmarir looks at the food tester and then sighs nodding. Now, what was that spice used in the woods that made the food taste excellent, trying to remember is harder than I thought. With the taste in mind, he reaches into the small punch and takes a pinch of what he thinks will indeed make her food taste great. With that done he turns around and heads back to the wood elf female by the fireplace. " I will be back, I'm just in a big hurry, trust me on this."
Once back on to the chair that he sat before he waits a moment, clears his throat. " You should try some of this, perhaps it will make you remember the spices used within the woods. I'm sorry for earlier, I ain't to good with new faces in this new place." He does wait for her reaction to his words.

OOC - Yeah, I forgot Utar is good at perception, but arcana... Not so much.
As Utar watches the human drop a pellet into his ale, Utar attempts to recall if he has seen or heard about anything similar that prevents inebriation in the user.
Arcana - 20 plus 3
Taking up the mug of ale again, Utar exhales deeply before drinking.
Constitution - 12
As he finishes the mug, Utar heaves, quickly swallowing any vomit from his mouth.
As you finish talking to Madame Freona, you look back over your shoulder and catch Esma waving her hand at you, eager to continue the gossiping. It is at this time that it finally hits you. Her dress must have the self-repair enchantment that is known as the bane of the sartorial business. She must be wearing a kind of Clothes of Mending. Satisfied with your conclusion, you realize there is little benefit to resuming your conversation with the gossiping ladies at this point. Based on what Madame Freona mentioned, however, it might be worth keeping an eye open for people discussing business in the tavern.
ANDMARIR
Thinking on what Schuyler had said earlier and connecting the dots with what the female elf said about her bow, you are able to conclude that safflower oil, the pungent tasting ingredient that Schuyler was complaining about comes exclusively from the Quivering Forest, which was mentioned be the female elf. Being a bit creative, you think of crushed safflower petals instead, and hope that they have the same unique taste as the oil. When you offer it to the elven lady, she doesn't seem to trust you right away: "You seem to know what you are talking about, but I can't trust just anyone. Here, I'll give you a morsel of my food. Add your spice to it and eat it. Prove that you are not trying to poison me."
DRAZZIM, GRAXX & RAG
Rag agrees with Drazzim and moves forward to try to pick the lock open (thieve's tools check: 10... just enough!)
The lock opens with a bit of cracking sound, and Rag lets the older gnome go. Before fully exiting the inn, the gnome looks back and with a smile puffs out a dragon from his pipe. He then disappears into the night. Rag adds "We better find this dangerous item soon," and closes the door back up.
Graxx hits Halda again and she already looks like she is in bad shape. Before she goes down however, she brings out her secret weapon. Halda opens her mouth and lets loose the cold breath of white dragons upon you. Drazzim is also caught in the cone but it just misses Rag.
-> Graxx and Drazzim must succeed a {DC 10} CON saving throw or take 7 cold damage, or half as much damage on a successful save.
UTAR
This mug was harder to swallow, but you manage to keep your poise. Good thing too, as you come to the realization that these fools must have robbed a temple, or at least a house of healing. They not only had a tankard used in the treatment against the abuse of alcohol, but they are also in possession of more than one Bead of Refreshment, an item normally associated with the purification of non-potable water among other things. Charlatans, no doubt, but certainly not a danger of the magnitude Buhrell has been worried about.
(OOC: If you decided to drink another mug-full, the DC will be bumped up to 14).

You are unable to determine the school of magic of items you do not directly see, but you can find the requested info for those items that are out in the open and which have not yet been identified by either you or a member of your party. Since this is all happening at the same time, I'll say you got a good visual on the gnome's pipe before he left).
-> Female elf's ten-foot-pole is associated with the School of Transmutation. -> Old gnome's pipe is associated with the School of Transmutation.
Andmarir looks to the elf, then down at the morsel of food, then back up to her once again and sighs. " You know, I have a little bit of this. I payed... Uhm, going to pay this guy for a sample of this spice. I did this to apologies, plus your a fellow elf of the woods like me. I figured I say high and talk, hear a bit of what you have gone through to get here." After saying that he will look at her, wondering if she is not trying to poison him but then he shrugs.
Taking the small morsel in between his two fingers, lightly rubbing a small bit of the spice pedals on to the morsel. Turning to look at her once more time he starts to eat it. He does not take his eyes off hers, just to see her reaction.
As Madame Freola begins pouring, Utar holds up a hand and shakes his head. "None for me, Madame. I have had quite enough of being cheated by these two." As he speaks he brings a heavy hand down on the shoulder of the dwarf and the human, "Two toerags who can't handle their drink. Now I don't begrudge you my silver," Utar draws his head close to theirs and looks round at the others revellers involved in the contest, "But these fine people may beg to differ."
Marfaen stays curious on the items he noticed using the spell taken from the scroll, so he decides to use the recipe he learned with his companion: approaching and talking with them.
But he needed something consistent to be sure he could make a convincing talk, so he tries to stay in a position that would let him overhear the couple's conversation.
Graxx sighs... He reaches down and takes the magical dice from Halda. “You may keep your gold.”
Graxx eyes flicker, “But, you should not have lied to me!”
Graxx will attempt to make a reckless headbutt against Halda to put her on the floor and keep her from going to the door.
