Graxx shakes his body trying to get the chill off. He shouts to Drazzim ,”THAT was a Dragon finding out what happens when you lie to Graxx of the Sky Pony Tribe! Anyone else in need of a thumpin’ ?!
Graxx then looks around for where to go next. He is now watching the others to determine where to lend his assistance next.
As you take a bite, you can feel the overwhelming bitter taste of the crushed safflower petals and your face cannot hide it. The female elf laughs out loud, as if she knew how they tasted and had set you up to eat them yourself. "Hahaha... now you'll learn not to try to initiate a conversation by offering safflower to someone." She smiles at you "My name is Surruk and I have been patrolling the Quivering Forest just north of Phlan for the last two weeks. I have been making sure none of the more malevolent fey creatures bother anyone. I have recently taken leave for a few days and wished to start my vacation with a good meal. This here is my trusty bow made of Morcant Burl as I mentioned before..." She then points to the thin ten-foot pole and adds "...and this over here is how I feed myself while patrolling the streams nearby, my Pole of Angling. All my other belongings, I carry with me in this backpack." She then concludes "There, now you know all there is to know about me. Now it is your turn. Tell me about yourself. I'd like to...."
Before she can finish her sentence, the two of you are interrupted by a large crackling noise. You see some blue lightning exploding from the southwestern corner table, where a couple seemed to be on a date. Surruk immediately stands up, bow at the ready.

Halda hits the floor unconscious, and the cold that bit you for a brief moment subsides quickly. The brief moment that you have to look around lets you notice two things. First, every other patron is staring at you, some surprised by the sudden burst of cold, others afraid that you may be the cause of it. Second, Neya breaks through the crowd, greeting all three of you. Before you can continue your reunion, the four of you all notice that the patrons quickly switch their gaze to the southwestern corner of the tavern as a much louder and stronger burst of lightning hits someone over there. You are a bit far from the source to realize who the victim is at first, but something certainly serious is happening. As people begin to scream and move in search of shelter, you can make out part of the fearsome scene.

UTAR
The cheering crowd of previous competitors seems to be either too happy or tired from their earlier drinks to notice the veiled threat you sent the charlatans' way. Nonetheless, the human fellow understands, collects his belongings, checks to make sure his magical beads are still in his pocket and says "Right... I think I had enough for a night. Farewell everyone," and dashes toward the front door. The dwarf, however, seems convinced he can stand his ground. He grinds his teeth, and begins opening his mouth, surely planning on uttering a few insults your way. He never gets a chance though. He is interrupted by a loud crackling burst coming from the southwestern corner of the tavern floor. You all look over in that direction, but there are too many people between you and the source of that burst for you to have good visuals on whatever is happening there. As people begin to scream and move in search of shelter, you can make out part of the fearsome scene.

MARFAEN
You make your way to the small side table next to the one in the southwestern corner. The are people there too, but they don't seem to mind your presence. As you pretend to mingle with them for a bit, you listen in on the conversation of the dating couple.
Human Man: No, of course not. I bought it from a traveling band. Dwarven Woman: A traveling band? Human Man: Yes. They showed me how it can be used to heat and work metal more easily than in a forge. Dwarven Woman: That's very specific. What kind of enchantment is in that thing? Human Man: Who cares? As long as it is contained within its glass case and you are careful, you can heat the metal directly. Dwarven Woman: Hmm. So you purchased it to sell it to the Ironworkers’ Guild. To me... Human Man: Well, yes. Are you not interested? Dwarven Woman: Well, let's see it first. Human Man: Here? Hmm... Alright. Let me just reach in here and....
You then see the man grab his bag and immediately run away, as if changing his mind on negotiating with the dwarven lady. The human moves quickly, trying to whisk away whatever he was concealing, but he carelessly bumps into another patron, an older human lady, and the sound of glass shattering echoes through the room.

EVERYONE
A male human screams as his body is surrounded by a blue crackling energy. He falls to the floor, a dagger-like object clutched in his hand. The dwarven woman accompanying him pushes back her chair and runs for the front door, much like many other patrons. She doesn’t seem afraid, but worried instead.
The struggling human can’t fight the lightning that is inundating his body. As life begins to leave him, a tiny but bright ball of light leaves through his chest. Floating in the air, the ball of light approached the closest patron, an older human lady who stands there unsure of what to do. The ball of light does not hesitate however, touching the patron and immediately rendering her unconscious. Not missing a beat, even before her limp body fully settles on the ground, the ball of light enter it, consuming it from inside and instantly killing her. The ball of light then reappears, like a woeful spirit coalescing above the lifeless corpse of the older human lady like a flickering flame.
(OOC: This is our cue for a fight! I'll be rolling initiative shortly, in a separate post).
(OOC: In the map below, the enemy is the the ball of light marked with a yellow square. Surruk, the female elf with a longbow is represented by the blond elf circular marker. The lightning can be assumed to be in the same square as the ball of light for now).
UPDATE MAP:
(OOC: This is a good time to remind everyone of our "Loose Initiative" rule. Please see the rules in this post.)
(Marfaen, Graxx, Neya, and Rag, you may take your turn).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hm, I'm pretty sure you can beat it as any other enemy, it's just more resilient, and hard to hit." Investigating the creature he tries to take whatever knowledge about the creature he can remember.
Religion18 (Because I know what creature it is, and I believe religion makes sense.)
Feeling threatened with how close he is to the creature, and how dangerous it really is, already making two victims in less than twelve seconds, he casts Mage Armor and then he pulls a dagger out of his pocket.
(OOC @Marfaen: We'll count your religion check as a bonus action this turn, but digging for information like that during combat would normally be an action, I reckon. Let's keep that in mind going forward).
Marfaen: You react first, quickly casting your protective spell and arming yourself simultaneously. Witnessing this creature drain the old lady of life, you are reminded of some of your studies of the unnatural in your previous life as a hermit. You know these creatures are normally referred to as Will-o'-Wisps, which are malevolent, wispy balls of light that haunt lonely forest and busy urban spaces alike, bound by dark fate or dark magic to feed on fear and despair. You recall that they are fast and nimble, despite their somewhat calming appearance. They also posses the ability to consume life, as you have just witnessed, which instantly kills its foe.
Graxx: You grab the bulky white-dragonborn and begins to drag her towards Marfaen using a dash to get as close as possible (OOC: you can move at half-speed dragging a heavy load like that). The wizard answers your question in a dry but straight-forward manner.
Neya: You strafe west, dogging a few desperate patrons, and lets loose an arrow. Your target is quite small (OOC: tiny creature), and even though you were confident about your shot, it misses its mark.
Rag (autopilot): From afar but standing on a table after moving a bit closer, the halfling will also shoot an arrow at what he can only assume is the source of the lightning.
-> Shortbow (ranged weapon attack with Sneak Attack) vs. Will-o'-Wisp: Attack: 26 Damage: 11 piercing.
-> The arrow flies through the air, hitting the bright ball and then falls to the ground. It's hard to tell but you all feel like it damaged the creature a bit, somehow (cumulative damage to Will-o'-Wisp: 5).
(The Lighting, Surruk, and the Will-o'-Wisp are up next).
Lightning: The crackling energy jumps towards another target. It seems to skip a few bemused patrons that are still around it and land directly on Schuyler, the professional food taster that Andmarir was talking to earlier this evening. The man's muscles tighten and he drops all his belongings, including the Heward's Handy Spice Pouch. He seems to still be alive for the moment, but in extreme pain. Conversely, the Lightning's original target lays motionless on the floor.
Surruk: The elf will also shoot an arrow at the tiny bright ball.
Andmarir continues to chew the morsel, even if his taste buds are telling him not to. She got him good, but the effort was enough that she started to tell him about herself. He was going to reply and the lightning happened. He gets up as quickly as possible as possible and notes the threat as his Mark. The small ball of light that tried to hurt Marfaen. With his longbow in hand he shoots towards the small glowing ball.
Bonus action: Cast , Hunters Mark at the small flying ball.
Attack: 14 if hits damage: 8 + 4 hunters mark
Then moves up on to the stage to get a good high advantage
"Aye, hit it as hard as ye can!" Drazzim tells the others. He pulls a handaxe from his belt, knowing he can't get there in time with his stout stature, as well as ready to pull his greataxe out shortly, wishing he had picked up his glaive, but it is still where they were sitting. He then steps closer to the glowing ball of energy, hurling his handaxe at it. (Move 25 feet closer, then attack.)
Handaxe vs. Will-o'-Wisp:21 vs. AC. Hit:10 slashing damage.
Seeing the commotion in the corner, Utar realises this what Buhrell was looking for. In as a loud and clear a voice as he can manage he bellows to the other patrons.
"MADAME FREOLA WISHES TO EXTEND HER GRATITUDE TO YOU ALL FOR YOUR ATTENDANCE HERE AT THE TEA KETTLE THIS EVENFEAST! GIVEN THE REVERENCE AND HIGH ESTEEM THE DISCERNING PATRONS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT ARE HELD IN, THE MANAGEMENT HAVE ASKED THAT YOU VACATE THE PREMISCES, LEST YOU FALL VICTIM TO SOME MALEVOLENT MAGICS."
With Utar will cross the room to the front door, attempt to unlock it with the key, realise it's already open, swing the door wide and do his best impression of a doorman. Dusting his tabbard down, modding as passers and offering an occasional "please come again soon" or a "The Tea Kettle thanks you" as the various revellers leave.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Graxx stop dragging the Dragonlady(hopefully with a thud). Then, following Drazzim's lead he will pull one of his handaxe from his belt and throw it at the Will-o-Wisp.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Neya closes the distance between her and the Will-o’-Wisp, draws her short sword and lets loose with an attack with the sword, followed by a punch and a kick.
Sword: Attack: 12 Damage: 5
(1 Ki Point: Flurry of Blows) Unarmed attack 1 Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Drazzim moves closer to his target, kicking some chairs on the way as to not have to deviate from his intended path. He lobs one of his handaxes over the fleeing crowd and manages to get a glimpse of it hitting its mark (cumulative damage to Will-o'-Wisp: 12).
Andmarir feels his arcane mark finding purchase on the enemy but his arrow is less accurate. It sticks to the wooden wall that separates the tavern floor from the backrooms. The stage is empty now, the tumbling group of performers having already escaped through a window.
Utar: Despite the half-orc's best impression, patrons are mostly panicked by now, running for their lives or finding a hiding spot within the inn. Nonetheless, most patrons manage to escape, either through the front door or broken windows. A small cluster of them seems to be trapped in the southeastern corner. They had opted to escape through the back doors but found them locked. They are now trying to break the door near the eastern end of the bar in an attempt to reach the backrooms and then flee. Some others were more successful by jumping over the bar counter and making their way to the backrooms that way (OOC: for caring for the innocent and playing to your character, I'll give you an inspiration point here!)
22. Marfaen - AC up to 16 because of Mage Armor; 21. Graxx, Neya, Rag; 20. Lightning; 18. Surruk; 16. Will-o'-Wisp; 08. Drazzim; 06. Andmarir - keeping concentration on Hunter's Mark; 03. Utar.
Graxx drops the unconscious body of Halda on the floor and launches a handaxe at the Will-o'-Wisp. The spirit dodges it easily by moving quickly a foot to the left.
Neya catches the enemy right as it finishes dodging Graxx's axe, and slashes at the floating sphere feeling some resistance on the blade, albeit little. The follow up punch and kick are avoided, as the Will-o'-Wisp whizzes a few inches up and down purposefully (cumulative damage to Will-o'-Wisp: 16).
Feeling threatened by the proximity he had to the Wisp, he goes for the only close up option besides the dagger he had to attack, Shocking Grasp. He's unsure if it'll work, but that's what a wizard's life is made up of, experimenting.
Attack:12Damage:19
(OOC: I know the creature is immune to Lightning damage, but that's just player knowledge, from Marfaen's point of view it was the most optimal choice, since hitting a ghost with a dagger sounds silly when compared to using a spell.)
Marfaen: In a reactive manner, the wizard reaches out to touch the Will-o'-Wisp and deliver some lightning of his own. As he suspected, the spell has little effect on the creature.
Rag (autopilot): Unsure if his previous arrow hit or not, the halfling will shoot another one and then hide under the table he is currently on top of.
->Shortbow (ranged weapon attack with Sneak Attack) vs. Will-o'-Wisp: Attack: 15 Damage: 13 piercing.
-> Rag is certain that this one missed, as the Will-o'-Wisp dodges it with a quick movement.
-> Using Cunning Action to Hide (stealth: 21). Rag makes a lot of noise on his way down from the table, kicking plates and cups. He knows this was not one of his best escapes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lightning: The chaotic bundle of visible blue energy suddenly zips toward the tiefling flower vendor who was selling his wares over a nearby window. He has not yet finished gathering all his flowers, and is now paying the price for not running away immediately. The Lightning hits and the tiefling humps over the window sill, clearly in a lot of pain. Left in the Lightning's wake, you can all see the lifeless body Schuyler, the food taster. From his chest a few seconds later, a second Will-o'-Wisp emerges (OOC: same initiative order as the original one).
Surruk: The elf joins Andmarir on the stage and readies another arrow. Seeing another Will-o'-Wisp rising, her facial expression begins to change from determined to afraid. She aims at the closest one.
-> It misses. These tiny balls of spiritual light are quite nimble.
Will-o'-Wisps: The original Will-o'-Wisp (now referred to as #1) allows its light to dim gradually until it is no longer visible. For a moment, you cannot be sure whether it is gone or just invisible, but that question is answered just as quickly as it arose. It reappears on top of Halda's unconscious body and begins to consume its remaining life. Her muscles become atrophied, scales crack. It looks like she lost over half of her wait in a couple of seconds, while the Will-o'-Wisp's light becomes brighter.
Halda's CON saving throw: 20. Will-o'-Wisp heals for: 9. (Cumulative damage to Will-o'Wisp#1: 11).
The second Will-o'-Wisp's light brightens as it tries to shock the nearest target.
Buhrell reappears from one of the doors behind the bar and announces to innocent bystanders: "I have unlocked most of the back doors now. Come this way". Most of those left in the tavern begin to follow the half-orc, but a handful of them still seem to prefer to find shelter behind tables or counters or even chairs, including the small dwarven girl with a necklace of yellow flowers that the gossiping ladies had complained about earlier.
Neya gets up and goes to Graxx while trying to hear any suspicious conversations.

-> Longbow (ranged weapon attack) vs. Will-o'-Wisp#2: Attack: 15 Damage: 10 piercing.
The second Will-o'-Wisp's light brightens as it tries to shock the nearest target.
-> Shock (melee spell attack) vs. Neya: Attack: 7
Damage: 8 lightning.-> Neya manages to dodge the attack just in time.
UPDATED MAP:
Buhrell reappears from one of the doors behind the bar and announces to innocent bystanders: "I have unlocked most of the back doors now. Come this way". Most of those left in the tavern begin to follow the half-orc, but a handful of them still seem to prefer to find shelter behind tables or counters or even chairs, including the small dwarven girl with a necklace of yellow flowers that the gossiping ladies had complained about earlier.
(Everyone can post their next turn).
Graxx will melee attack with his remaining Handaxe against the Will-O-Wisp closest to him.
Attack: 18 Slashing Damage: 7
