Isk they aren't speaking loudly enough for you to grasp their conversation. You pick up "maze" once or twice and "trouble" but nothing else without moving closer or revealing to them you're listening!

There are three at one table and four at the other. The three are all human. The four consist of hooded figures that don't seem to want to be noticed, you would have to actively look at them closer to discern their races but two are relatively small and two are medium sized.

"I would like to check out a shop or two myself while we are still in town." Karnic rubs his hand against his chin in thought, "So, we can't ask the locals directly about the maze. Hmm... Sense it sounds like there are three of us that want to head to the shops; perhaps those of us that don't go could get the information through other means. Perhaps through a charming personality or getting a few locals drunk enough to talk."Taps the top of the table with a finger still thinking, "I'm not a fan of using it, but if we don't get anything before we retire for the night. I can ask goddess Lliira for a spell that will compel people to tell the truth, so to speak."

Garrett leans into the table getting the attention of his group. "The group of 3 also seek the maze. There is also a group of 4 that have been following them that also speak of the maze. The locals only seemed bothered by those seeking the maze. Interesting as the coin and business those who seek it must bring must be enormous. And yet they do not seem to welcome it."
He says this quietly so no one can overhear them. He then relaxes a bit.
"I need to do some shopping and collect some items. I hope to sell my bow and find a light crossbow and bolts as well as other gear. I know others of you need to do the same. Perhaps we can glean enough information to piece together the location of an entrance to the maze. Any area locals avoid perhaps? Asking directly won't get us much but perhaps some rumors will fall our way?" We can meet back up at supper time and share info. We can go as one big group or split up. No matter but someone in this town will have information we can use. "
Flint would nod in agreement with Karnic's words. At the mention of buying equipment, he would hold up a finger and pull a light crossbow from his pack. "A highwayman was kind enough to give me his weapon on my way into town if anyone is intereseted." A small smile spreading across his lips.
Isk catches the barmaid's eye and motions her over. He orders 3 more ales.
When the ales arrive, he leans over to Flint and says, "Keep an eye on my maul, " as he scoops the tankards into his hands, along with his own, and goes over to the table of 3. He smiles and says, "Well met friends, you lot look as thirsty as I am." and takes up an empty chair, sliding an ale to each of the others there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Flint will grin and mutter under his breath "Damn, Isk read my mind" placing his hand on the large maul and sitting in the now empty seat. Making sure to keep a close eye on the conversation while attempting to hear what they are saying.
While keeping a eye on Isk in case he gets in trouble Nam says “we should break into 2 groups. Those that new wears in the shops and the others snoop for info” He leans into the group “ we need to be weary of other groups that might try to sabotage us.” He takes a big drink of his ale to finish it. “ So, who’s heading out to the shops”
Nam waves a barmaid to the table “Can you tell us what assortment of shops you may have in your lovely town?”
"From what I've heard there have been more than a few who have beat the maze, immense power and wealth and all that" Griff puts his elbow on the table and does a circular motion in the air with his dagger. "If there has been many champions it makes me think there might not be a reason for anyone to sabotage anyone else going in."
Flint will turn to Garrett. "Well I bought them of bolts, and they tried to sell me a light crossbow for 30, so how about 15 for the weapon and 20 bolts?.... I'll give you the family discount" giving Garrett a wink and sliding the weapon and bolts across the table... Then, turning to Griff, Flint would pipe up "I agree, there have been multiple winners... So either there is a reward for anyone that wins.. or the reward is so great that it must take a large number of adventurers to haul it all out.... Either way I don't see any reason for sabotage. Flint will stand up, dust himself off a little more and head over to the table of four, pausing a moment and looking back over his shoulder to Isk. "I'll try to gather more information.." Then, walking up to the table he would clear his throat loudly "Ahem! fellas! who here would like a drink? maybe we could discuss some kind of mutual agreement?" Shooting them all a big smile.
Isk gets the ales from Charity and goes to yhe table of humans who all look young amd we'll dressed on new travelers clothes, even their boots look barely worn! The three men look up at the half-orc woth a mix of curiosity and terror before composing themselves when the half-orc speaks!
"Uh thanks," the older of the boys says taking his ale and sipping it curiously before making a face anf putting it down again. "This place is a bit more...rustic than we thought it would be," he adds in an airy voice that Isk recognizes smacks of a nobleborn Sul Na Marian as the other two boys nod agreeing. "We're here for the maze as I presume so are you unless your evangelizing. If it's the maze sit if not I have no coin to spare for your cause," he adds smirking.

Flint approaches and the table of fours chatter stops. One looks up with a sneer and greenish tinted skin.
"Move on. We want no trouble," a female voice says curtly before jerking her hooded head to the side as if to further her point for Flint to keep walking.
"Let's see....there is the bakery, the smithy, Hendrick's magics and divinations, and the butchers. There's traveling sales people too setting up carts here and there but they vary," the blonde replies. "More ale," she then as beaming.

Garrett smiles at Flint. "Sold old friend and counts the money out for him." He takes the gear and sets it with his stuff. "Anyone need arrows? I'm going to sell my shortbow. "
If anyone needs them he'll hand them over.
"Well Nam, let's head for the stores. I saw them as I entered town. Anyone else is welcome to join us. I need some more travel rations, some other gear and sell my bow."
Garrett will settle the costs for the room and wine gather his gear and head out.
"Evangelizing? Son, if I was evangelzing, you'd know it. My sermons are generally delivered with hammer blows." Isk says while nodding towards the giant maul at the other table. He smiles and claps the boy on the shoulder. "No, I'm here for the maze. Seems like quite a few people are here for that. Maybe we can pool our resources, share knowledge. Seems like there have been several adventurers who have found success with the maze, so there must be plenty to share. How's the ale?"
"It tastes like horse puss," the youngest of the boys hisses pushing the tankard away from him as they erupt into laughter.
"Resources," the oldest bot asks with an eyebrow cocked looking over Isk's travel and battle worn appearance. "What do you offer us," he then adds smirking again.
