Starting to get suspicious of Gen Nelburn keeps the map to himself. "Now lass, your startin' to sound a bit desperate there. We're all friends ere', whats this map to you anyway? What even is the bleedin thing showin us."
With that he has a good look at the map himself to see what it shows.
"I am looking for my mother's remains to take them back to our grove," Gen exclaims. "The orbs told me they were here...the map was here," she adds reaching for the map anxiously.
Garrett, Nam, and Karnic reach the edge of the clearing. They walk passed to carcasses of panthers before catching a glimpse of party members flanking yet another set of ruins.

"We're fine here." The half orc shakes his head when Garrett explains the reason for the other's delay. "Glad you could join us. The drow took off after she set her minions on us. Not sure which way she went though."
With his frustration rising, Tobias steps between Nel and Gen, holding a hand up to keep her from grabbing the map. "I'm am sorry to her of your mother's missing remains," the paladin snaps then takes a calming breath (Insight on Gen's sob story 23), "but you running off like that because the glowing lights told you so is causing people to get hurt." He burries a knuckle into his temple to work away some of the stress of the recent events. "Now, if you would like our help, rhats fine. But you can't just go running off in this place."
Looking up from his Investigation he adds to Tobias’ comments. “Aye lass, run around like a bleedin’ headless kobold all ya want, but next time we ain’t gonna be so keen to follow you. We all got reasons for bein’ here, and you ain’t the only one doin’ it for family trust me. Just keep yer cool, you’ll do better for yer maw that way.” Despite his course tone it is at least obvious Nelburn is trying to console the desperate girl.
"They pledged to help me," Gen says pointing to tge others moving ever forward towards the map. "I led them here and with that I will lead them out," she adds. "The map...it belonged to my mother," she adds continuing to holding out her hand.
Nel the map isn't easy to read not even the shapes make sense. It is also written in several languages you do not speak.
Tobias the druid is telling the truth and is completely genuine.

Garrett remarks as he hears the conversation over the map.
"Isk pledged to help you but he died in the effort. For me, I'm along for the ride. You've been a good companion and I know your intentions are good regarding your family. However perhaps in the future you let us know what you are doing instead of just hammering ahead into the jungle. This whole thing could have been much with us being separated and such."
He glances at the map
"From what I am seeing you care only for your quest and nothing for us. Next time you run off you'll be in your own. I say we hold onto the map for now."
Flint would have finished removing arrows from himself and been listening to the converstaion for a moment, before finally piping up. "I am happy that we are all in one piece, and I think the best way for us to stay that way is to stick together" Flint says as he adjusts his kettle helmet and steps towards Gen. "I agreed to help you, And I will even let ya have the map if you allow us to make a copy" the large man says as he slings his heavy crossbow over his shoulder. "and when you say you are going to lead us out... I assume you mean lead use out through the treasure room right" Flint says as he stares her hard in the eyes with his one uncovered eye.

Pointing her staff at Nel now and the end crackling with engery the young druid's entire body seems to tense.
"Give me the map," the druid growls her voice twice the volume that is natural as the engery at the end of the staff flares out creating a flash like sunlight lighting up the jungle for a moment revealing several figures surrounding the group in the jungle around them!

"You're fight isn't with us. Lower your staff." Tobias lowers his hand, but remains in place. "You may be on a personal quest in the hell of a maze," the paladin relaxes some allowing his irritation to subside, "but my job has been to keep those around me safe, and that is hard to do when you go running off like that. You'd do well to remember the safety of those that have pledged their service to you." He begins walk away. "They won't be able to spend what you've promised to pay them I'd they're dead."
"Gods' sake! Now what?!" Tobias readies himself for what may be coming through the forest.
Karnic, getting tired of the squabbling, slips his mace in his belt and presses his hand against one of his wounds to coat it in blood. He calmly walks over to Gen giving her a direct stern stare, his eyes never leaving hers, and slaps her across the face leaving behind a bloody hand print on her cheek. "You want to find your mothers remains so badly, take your map and go. Just remember, you won't be any use to her if you are dead too. If you want to find them alive and get out of here alive then you'll need our help, but we won't be helpful if we die as well." Karnic will continue to stare her down, his eyes never straying from hers.

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Karnic attacks and then monologues? Really?
Everyone roll initiative.
As soon as the cleric's hand makes contact with the druid's face a wave of energy surges out of the staff as if pulling engery from the sky above as a storm cloud forms above Gen as she casts call lightning behind the group cornering her. ALL (minus Nam or Flint who have yet to insult, threaten, or attack her) make a DC15 Dex save against 13 of lightning damage 1/2 if save as a bolt strikes arching out at each of you.
"The map," she demands wiping Karnic's blood off her face and spitting at him next.
The looming figures in the jungle behind to move forward, figures that seem almost one with the jungle themselves animated trees, large plants, and stumps as if a spell similar to awaken had been cast a half dozen times on these large green jungle dwellers.
Barely avoiding the worst of the blast Nelburn attempts to throw up some defences as the light blasts down into the ground and scorches his heavy armour in the process.
(OOC: Well, so much for the 'slap the hysterical person back to their senses' idea.)
Dex save: 3
Karnic takes the full brunt of the lightning strike and falls forward to the ground. Using his last moments of consciousness to place his still bloody hand on Gen's face and has it slide down her face and body to leave behind a bloody streak.
OOC: I'd have to agree. With the exchanges being tossed about there is no real surprise from her attack. Initiative should should dictate actions after the slap.
