Zander is surprised Ismark has never heard of pirates. "Really? You've never heard of them? They are people who group together to commit crimes on the ocean. They use ships to get around and hijack other ships and steal everything they can, including the ships sometimes. I used to work on a shipping vessel until a group of them attacked us and took everything... killed everyone. They must've thought I was dead too because they left us all to rot on the deck. I woke up and vowed to serve justice, for all the dead, for future lives to be saved, maybe. I dragged my brother into this quest with me," Zander grabs Zennas by the shoulder, "but it doesn't look like we can leave Barovia until this Strahd situation is dealt with."

Ismark chuckles a bit. "We have a few lakes here, but no water big enough to be called an ocean. When we are ready, we can press on. We should reach the town soon enough."
As Necros finishes his rest, Ismark begins leading down the road once more. The view dies not change much, with unbroken forest on both sides and the mists visible only a few feet into the woods.
Looking into the mists, you see a figure moving. Through the mists comes a skeletal warhorse and rider, both clad in ruined chainmail. The skeletal rider holds up a rusted lantern that sheds no light.
Towards us, or just to some point on the road? If he's just getting to the road, I'll just watch for a sec, but if he's headed right towards us I'll point my bow at him and ask what he's doing.

"I don't know but that lashing I got from that old lady makes me not want to strike first anymore. I'll do what I need to, but I don't want to start the fight."

As Ismark begins to lead again, he speaks. "I have heard tales that those who wander off and get lost in the forest or in the mists are cursed to continue wandering Barovia forever. Perhaps that was one of those."
"Not what your family was tortureing you for fun so i got back at them no big deal, not eveil just karma"
That's fair, Necros. Forgive me for judging.

Lae just shrugs, “Let’s move on shall we?”
Ismark nods and turns up the road once more. "So. Pirates. What is a pirate?"
Zander is surprised Ismark has never heard of pirates. "Really? You've never heard of them? They are people who group together to commit crimes on the ocean. "Right well i need to take a breather well we decide were to go" necros nakes a short rest
(Burning hit dice, Necros?)

"What is this now?" Zander clutches his bow and an arrow.

The rider is headed straight towards the road you are on and does not seem to be slowing down at all.

He will cross the road a little way ahead of the party if he doesn't change his course.
Zander will watch with bow drawn, and let him do his thing if he doesn't bother us.

Lae readies Sacred Flame.
The rider rides onto the road and begins to cross into the forest on the other side.
Lae watches the rider as he goes and leans over to Zander, "Wonder what that was all about..."

"Probably the wise thing to do."
As Ismark begins to lead again, he speaks. "I have heard tales that those who wander off and get lost in the forest or in the mists are cursed to continue wandering Barovia forever. Perhaps that was one of those."
Lae sighs and shakes his head, "Why am I not surprised. Does anyone have any good news for once?"
