In a small farm neer the carmarth mountains, a child is sleeping in his uncomfortable bed dreeming of when he will be old enough to work with his father on his birthday ,in a few days, like his brothers and sister before him. But before the sun rises light shines through the windows and, every crack in the walls, aswell as an overwhelming heat wakes up the family right away. As they get closer to the light and heat blistersstart forming on their skin and their bare feet sizzle and stick to the wood floor. Sweat drizzles down their browse even though the heat has only gone on for about ten seconds. They look through the windows and horror crosses their faces as they see fire rushing out of a portal as bright as the sun. The fire is falling out of this portal toward the small farm with such speed and force that by the time they turn from the window the farm is ingulfed in flame and every creature around the farm is instantly turned to ash as a 5 mile circle around the porter is filled with fire.
in this campaign I am running two games at the same time. One group is evil and trying to open portals to other plains and the other is a good group trying to close the portals. The groups will ocationaly meet each other where I will tell each group to go to a new pbp ,linked in their current pbp, until the encounter is over. In the encouter you can't die until the end of the whole quest. The groups will be about 3 or 4 people each.
If your intrusted in the campaign then here is what you'll need. I don't care about what way you gey your abilities. Standerd, Manuel, or point buy. Use XP, critical roll is ok, fixed or manual hp, any race and class are exempted. You are in a land I created called water-right. There are 4 main city's.
The city known for its magic and inventions is called Aura. It is ruled by the mage guild that is in the mage tower in the middle of town.
The city known for its war a abilities and defence is called solitare. It is run by the fighters guild in th middle of town.
The third is called Faldar. It is run by no one. It is in complete anarchy seemingly known by no one. But underground is the thieves guild.
The final one is whinter-right. It is in 3 sections. One for magic one for fighting and one that is mixed.

Backstory: He is a follower of Pelor. He is a kind man with kind eyes. Most of his adult life was spent in a hospital caring for the sick, especially the children. In battle against evil, he has harness the light of not the divine, but the light of nature's energy also known as lightning. When he was young he was often ill until one day his parents brought him to a temple or place of worship. They thought that the divine could help him. They visited everyday. Until one day he and his parents left the place of worship, they were suddenly attacked by muggers. His father tried to defend him and his mother. His father got stabbed and his mother pushed him away telling him to run. He runs while looking back. He sees his mother being stuck down from behind. Crying with helplessness, he returns to the place of worship since he had no where else to go. The priests took him in and took care of him. He trained in the healing arts while his illness dissipates. As he comes into adulthood, he then turns his attention to the medical field using science and divine arts to heal others. Besides his keen aptitude in healing arts, he is also great empath. He has the ability to feel how others feel by talking to them or reading their body language.
Currently in Aura learning more about divine arts and nature magic intertwining. However, he is currently living in Solitare, using his healing abilities for injured soldiers.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sounds like an interesting campaign idea. Very few times are groups set on directly opposing sides. Since Angiro put a good character, I guess I'll work on a bad character. Gonna get some stats rolled and see what happens...

Name: Zarref Race: Fallen Aasimar Class: Bard Reason: Zarref is working for a dark master, an angel fallen from grace one might say. Using their bardic information, they looked for intel on the portals, but got overzealous, killing someone as they did not provide the information they were after. They are now imprisoned for manslaughter.
Name: Tzidon Race: Mark of Shadow Elf Class: Rogue Backstory: Tzidon grew up on the streets of Faldar. He learned from a young age how to beg and steal food. It wasn't much longer before he learned to pick pockets for money and valuables, and eventually caught the eye of the thieves guild. With their help he honed his skills and became much better at breaking into places and finding valuables to steal without getting caught, and his ambition grew. He quickly rose through the ranks, but it was never enough. He wanted to become the greatest thief who ever lived, stealing great riches and priceless artifacts. He sees the portals as a good way to disrupt and distract the populous to make his work easier.
In jail after a job went bad and he was caught trying to break into an important person's manor.
Geez, those are crazy rolls. I will reduce the 10 to an 8, because the concept is that Umber is "somewhat slow." He was the muscle for one of the dark lords in search of portals. Well, they found one, and the lord jumped through and told Umber to guard the portal. It was not a nice portal, and the lord came back dead and mangled. Not being too bright, and being a bugbear, the watch who found Umber with the bloody, twisted remains of his lord decided it was best to put him in jail for manslaughter. Umber is true neutral and could easily be convinced to switch sides given the right incentive.
Yes lvl 12 and no jusy get the normal stuff but the people in prison don't start with stuff but keep them on your character because you will get them back.
Those stats are a tad below average for the group. DM said we could 4d6 drop lowest, re-roll 1. If you want, you could just roll an extra d6 for a couple of stats where your low was a 1 to see about boosting them. Just a thought. Us bad guys need to stick together...until we don't.
BTW, love playing hexblades.

Yeah I was hoping for better stats but I guess that's the way she goes sometimes. If the dm lets me reroll some or just take mulligan, that would be awesome but I feel my build is pretty strong so it's not a huge deal. But yeah 4 of the dropped numbers were 1 and another was 2 lol

Just changes things a little bit.
Also I'm fine with the death knight class. And vander you can make the 5 a 8 or 9 so you don't have - 3. Fact for the future also drop 1s.
Just to clarify:
Level twelve?

Also, based on we're level 12, does that affect our starting kit (though maybe people in prison don't start with gear?)

OK, level 12 it is. How about multiclassing? Maybe I go 6 Paladin / 6 Death Knight.
And I'm changing my starting armor from chain mail to scale mail.
