Prof. Valdayz, as the arcane researcher, has some of the calculations down for working out Alahilo's dimensions. Based on an initial look (the prior Perception check) it appears that this entire planet is fairly small in comparison to Evadil, around one hundred miles in diameter. It would still take a while to sail the entire of the world, but a lot less than it took to explore Evadil.
The small patches of ground that stick out of the blue sphere are fairly spread out, three of which are visible from this side of the planet. One of them appears to be at the top of the planet (think North) and appears to have some icy terrain surrounding it, while the other two are more equatorial. Not much more can be discerned from orbit.
(A bit of RP in flash back) In the few days that it took to reach the planet, Elyza will ask Valadayz about how he got his body to not reject the foreign augmentation as well as how he's able to control the mechanical components since it lacks nerves.
(Back to the present) After hearing about the planet Elyza says, "It may save time to just map out the islands rather than the large oceans. If this ship can fly in the atmosphere, we may be able to fly over the oceans at lower altitudes to spot anything that we might not be able to see from orbit."
[[OOC: Thelara wants to spend her downtime (when we get some) learning how to make and illustrate maps of her journeys. (AKA Cartographer's Tools proficiency.]]
"Let's take a spin around the planet, and make a rough map, then go zoom in on the largest landmass."

(Flashback) Valdayz smiles at Elyza's question. "You're assuming it lacks nerves..." He fiddles with a panel on the arm, and pops it open. Inside is many strange mechanics, as expected, but unexpectedly, there is something else. Nerves, flesh, and other gross living stuff is mixed in with the machinery, pulsating and twitching. It is truly horrible, yet amazing at the same time.

(Flashback) "A biomechanical device? That explains how you can control it. How are you keeping the organic parts alive though? Are they connected to your own blood vessels? The presence of nerves also makes me wonder: Do you feel touch with your mechanical "skin"?"
The ship soars above Alahilo's atmosphere. It appears to have several patches that look like they are obscured by heavy storm clouds, but from their initial check there are the following landmasses:
Light Side: Northern ladmass with icy terrain, two equatorial masses of sandy yellow with patches of green.
Dark Side: Three southern landmasses, the largest appearing to be a tall mountain. One northern landmass that appears nearly crescent shaped.
Elyza says, "Let's explore the more tropical islands first since they are more likely to have life forms we can study." She then turns to the quartermaster and says, "Do we have anything that can capture creatures alive? A living subject would be immensely beneficial for research."
Elirdain checks the ship's inventory before he gives his answer.
"We have two fishing nets and five fishing supplies available for small creatures. If it's something large as this ship, we could use a makeshift harpoon using our two medium ballistae."

“We can use one of the nets for the water, there’s gotta be something down there, right? Like lil’ schools of fish. It’d be good for food, if they’re edible.” Vyserra suggests. “The other we can use for any live creatures, and don’t worry if they try escaping, you all got me to go after them!” She winks and flexes her muscles for emphasis.

The Maiden Horizon soars towards the blue planet, the crew getting the ship prepared for maritime use. Gliding down towards the tropical looking islands, the ship slows down as it arrives within the world's orbit, the warmth of the summer-like air giving a wash of heat over the group.
Taking a safety precaution with the landing, the helm is offered to Kaala to assume control when they have landed in the ocean as the party can see the first glimpses of the island properly. It appears to have a large amount of sand banks, with a more tropical forest by initial appearance.
(If people want to make Perception checks if they are looking for a place that could be a dock or suitable place to anchor.)
"Well, it depends on the size of it. That reminds me! About how large is this planet?"
