(Klarth rushes one of the last Goblins by the Brazier and smashes his Mace, hitting him on the shoulder and injuring him! The Goblins are still being affected by the Stink Bomb but try to attack Klarth again!)
Goblin 1: Attack: 8 Damage: 3
Goblin 2: Attack: 16 Damage: 6
(The Goblins cough and wheeze as their Short Swords clang off of Klarth's armor harmlessly.)
(Zenashi throws a Dart at the hurt Goblin, but it sails over it's head harmlessly.
(Farukh falls back a bit to be out of range and takes a shot with her Longbow at the uninjured Goblin.)
Attack: 12 Damage: 8
(The Goblin manages to raise his shield just in time to deflect the Arrow!)
(Galaerys uses his Crossbow to try to finish the injured Goblin.)
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
(The arrow hits the injured Goblin in the stomach, its guts start spilling out as the Goblin drops dead. The final Goblin, still uninjured, looks on in fear as he realizes he's on his own!)
The Goblin, thoroughly terrified, drops his weapons and raises his hands. He drops to his knees and starts begging in broken Common.)
"N-n-no... please. I have kids. I didn't want to be a guard, they made me! Please don't kill me!"
(He starts sobbing, pathetically, looking around, before zeroing in on Farukh.)
"You... you look like nice person, please, tell your friends no kill me! PLEASE!"
(He continues wailing on his knees in front of you all.)
"Yes, Krag tell you everything! Just don't kill me! You-you want little girl? She's in there."
(Krag points at the at the East Wall, covered in vines.)
"Big boss, Sarris, tell us kidnap little girl for sacrifice to Goblin god. Turn holy tomb into temple for Goblin god. Goblin god happy. Has wizard goblin doing, uh... uh..." (starts speaking Goblin)
Ritual?
"Sacrifice little girl tonight. This many goblins."
(Krag holds up 2 little green fingers.)
"P-p-please, let Krag go. You never see me again. I go, ok?"
(Krag motions like he's leaving, but very cautiously...)
Klarth grabs the goblin by the scruff before he can escape. "Not so fast, goblin," he growls. "First, you will tell us how many of you there are and where, so that we can plan. And quickly, since we are running out of time." He bares his teeth at the goblin in a terrifying grin.
(The goblin pees a little and goes back to pleading.)
"Yes, yes, I tell you! Big Boss Saris... Wizard Goblin... and one Goblin to watch little girl in cage. That's it! And buddies outside... um, you kill them? Patrol, too? Ok, I leave now, ok? Just go thru hidden door in rock wall. Right there, see?"
(The Goblin points at a spot in the wall, then, in the blink of an eye, makes a run for it! You all have never seen anyone run that fast in your life!
He's at the base of the stairs before you all can even react. What do you all do?
(As you all get your bearings, you look around the dark room. There's the hallway behind you from where you came, the Northern wall, where there seems to be some carvings on the wall, the Southern wall that looks plain, and the Eastern wall which looks plain as well. The brazier is on a platform and is giving off some faint light.)
Galaerys Perception: 10
Farukh Perception: 19
(Zenashi and Farukh start to investigate the carvings on the wall. The carvings are pretty large and seem to depict several different scenes that show what appears to be an order of knights in several battles. In one of them, the knights are shown defeating what appears to be an army of Goblins, led by a particularly vicious looking, larger Goblin. The next carving shows the knights standing victorious over a field of dead Goblin bodies. As you see one of the other depictions, they show a huge Dragon terrorizing a village, burning homes and killing innocent villagers with vicious fire. The next mural shows the knights slaying the Dragon. The knights are all shown with matching insignia on their armor and shields.
Farukh calls you all over to share her discoveries, pointing things out to you all. As the party goes along the northern wall, following and inspecting the murals, you see a large carving of a very regal-looking knight. His armor looks more intricate than the rest, making you all think he might have been the leader or founder. Underneath, the name 'Sextus Varius' is inscribed. Next to him, there is a further inscription that reads as follows:
"I pledge to serve law, protect the innocent, battle the agents of chaos, and never reveal the secrets of the Delian Order. My word is my bond, my life and honor is for the order, for this night and all nights to come."
This seems to be the extent of what is on the northern wall.)
Klarth is uninterested in the carvings on the walls. He is focused on the patch of wall where the goblin pointed out a hidden door and searches for it, fingers running over everything, looking for a latch or lever or something.
DMs note: Zenashi, you would have to roll History (+1 for you) to find out.
(Klarth searches the wall and manages to find a hidden door in the wall of the cave. It creaks slightly as Klarth opens it. On the other side seems to be a natural cave, but you can't see much because you're still in this room.)
Everyone please give me 2 more Perception Checks, I'll keep one in the bank to make the game go a bit faster.
(Zenashi thinks for a bit about the Delian Order, but doesn't recall ever hearing of it before. His focus returns to the task at hand. The party opens the door and prepares themselves. Klarth leads the way, followed by Farukh, Zenashi and Galaerys. Before you is a very large room that seems to have been carved out of a cave. The walls are natural rocks, dark gray, with 20 foot ceilings. About 20 feet in there is a huge chasm, over which a narrow stone bridge connects this edge to another edge about 100 feet away. The bridge is about 5 feet wide and looks pretty sturdy, so you all could probably all cross it at once if you all went in a line. )
Spoiler for Zenashi:
The bridge seems sturdy, so you're not worried about crossing it. The stonework seems pretty good. Nobody else appears to be waiting for you all on the other side.
As you inspect the bridge, you notice that about halfway across, there is a part of the bridge that looks just a little bit difference than the rest. It's kind of far away, but you can tell it's a very slightly raised plate, about 10 feet across, long enough so you couldn't really jump over it unless you were very, very athletic. As you look around a little more, you see up on the ceiling a long, thin slit.
