Klarth runs toward the giant boar, his large muscles tensing as he swings his mace. His arm raises above his head and he brings down the weapon with all his might.
(Klarth's Mace smashes into the Giant Boar's head, denting its skull and causing blood to come spurting out! The Giant Boar is badly hurt, but still standing.)
(The regular Boar starts snorting wildly and goes to attack Klarth with its Tusk!)
Attack: 9 Damage: 7
(Klarth's heavy armor protects him well, stopping the tusk from doing any damage.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Ok, we definitely lost Farukh. I guess I'll roll for her.
(Farukh breaks out her two Daggers and rushes in, slashing at the Giant Boar!)
Attack: 17 Damage: 7
Attack: 15 Damage: 7
(One dagger pierces its side and the other manages to sink deep into its skull! The Giant Boar lets out a pained squeal, stumbles, then drops as its life leaves its body.)
(Galaerys uses his Hand Crossbow to let off a bolt that nails the Boar right in the neck! The Boar squeals and thrashes until Galaerys runs up to it and, with a final stab of his dagger, puts it out of its misery. The Boar lets out a final squeal, then drops dead. The battle is over.)
It is now fairly late in the evening. What do you all do?

It is now fairly late in the evening. What do you all do?
Klarth looks over the dead boars and then at his companions. "We need to find the girl," he says gruffly. He turns to Farukh. "Can you still track them?"
"It would be incredibly difficult to track them in the dark like this, I don't have Darkvision like you guys. Plus Zenashi took some damage and I don't think he has Darkvision either. I think we might need to stop for the night and get an early start tomorrow morning. Oh, and we have meat now, I can get that cooked up real nice for us so we don't have to eat rations."
(Farukh goes about her business in preparing the Giant and Regular Boars for cooking. Her Ranger skills shine here as well, skinning the animals and making the party a great meal out of the meat. The party eats and rests, Zenashi tends to his wounds, and the party talks about how to keep watch so everyone gets a chance to rest.)
DMs note: Sorry to railroad you like this, guys, but, realistically, you'd start taking damage due to exhaustion if you didn't eat/rest. If you'd like to do anything or RP anything about setting up camp and such feel free, otherwise the next part will be put up tomorrow night. Thanks for being patient and I promise it'll get more interesting soon.
"I will take the first watch," says Klarth. While the others rest, he will keep a watchful eye on the forest. Once it is his turn to rest, he will spend part of his time in prayer, readying himself for the next day and the likely battles to come.
(You all make camp for the night, taking turns on watch to make sure nothing sneaks up on you all. Nothing bad happens. You awaken, refreshed, and ready to continue.
You pick up the trail again and walk further into the woods. Around 11am or so, you reach a clearing. You slow down and see this:
(About 100 feet ahead, you see 2 goblins guarding a stone entrance. The goblin on the right looks like a serious little fellow, an intense look on his face as his eyes periodically scan the perimeter on the south side.
The goblin on the left, however, does not seem to be taking his assignment too seriously. He seems to be amusing himself with a dirty goblin magazine, hooting and hollering as he unfolds the centerfold and tries to show it to his more serious compatriot, who is visibly annoyed at his antics.
The two guard goblins start having an animated discussion... in Goblin. )
Spoilers for Klarth (the only one here who knows Goblin):
"Check out the *unclear* on her! Huh? Buddy?"
"Knock it off, Krang! We're supposed to be keeping watch while the boss does his ritual."
(Krang looks like he doesn't give a shit.)
"Dude, you're such a goody two shoes! We've been here for 3 days and haven't seen one single person! Nobody comes here!"
"It doesn't matter. Something happens and the boss will tear into both of us. So do your job."
(mimicking) "So do your job..."
(The rest of you all hear gibberish, but the serious one seems to be angry at the lazy one.)
"What the hell is taking so long, anyways?"
"It'll take as long as it takes. Boss said it might take as long as 24 hours, and they just got started last night."
"Then the kid gets it, right?"
"Yup. Needs to 'spill the blood of the innocent' to make the place all holy for the Goblin God."
"Well, that'll be fun, at least."
(The tension between the two goblins seems to be eased. The serious one almost cracks a smile. The lazy goblin goes back to his post, sits on a stump, gives a quick glance to the area he's supposed to be patrolling, then goes back to his magazine.)
DM's note: Ok, so, just so you're all aware of the situation, you're all about 100 feet away from the guard goblins. If you try to shoot them with arrows from where you are you would have disadvantage if you have a shortbow but if you have a longbow it's a normal roll. If you make it to the forest cover to the north you'd be about 60 feet away from the lazy one and about 80 ft away from the serious one. Also, if you want your damage to be non-lethal please let me know when you roll.
Klarth looks at the others, his eyes hard and unyielding. "They are planning to kill the girl as a sacrifice." He hefts his mace, shifting uneasily. "I am . . . less effective at a distance. Perhaps a distraction, or perhaps one of you has a better idea?" he asks gruffly.
Galaerys tries to cast a minor illusion 30 feet away (North-west) in an attempt to draw the lazy goblin over. He casts a faint sound of a child goblin crying.
(Galaerys casts Minor Illusion about 30 feet north from their position. The faint sound of a child goblin crying is heard. The Lazy Goblin is still sitting there, looking at his magazine, not paying attention, but the Serious Goblin notices.)
"Hey, Krang, do you hear something?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, very interesting."
"No, you... ugh! You're useless! Fine, I'll go check it out."
(The Goblin walks towards the area, scanning the area where the noise is being heard from. He doesn't see anything, but he's trying to figure out what's happening.)
Goblin Intelligence Check against Galaerys Spell DC (12): 18
(The Serious Goblin realizes things don't seem right and runs away back to the entrance, screaming his head off!)
"It's a trap! We're under attack! RUN! RUN!"
(Both Goblins are roughly in the same spot, where the Lazy Goblin was posted. The Lazy one is now startled and starts running away as well.)
DMs note: Sorry guys, Goblin rolled hella good. Tough luck. You can roll initiative or you can choose to do something else. What do you guys do?
As the goblins start shouting and running, Klarth looks at the others. "Attack or wait? We must decide quickly, little Bess does not have much time," he says.
Zenashi looks to the heros and says I'll be the distraction. Go save the little one. And with that Z pushes past the heros staff in hand. I will pay for my failure with the boar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DMs note: As you all were deciding, the Goblins used their head start to run towards the entrance. They're about halfway to the entrance of the cave/tomb. Galaerys, your roll didn't work, please try again. Everyone roll initiative.
