Nox and Dredge continue their attacks, ignoring the inner conflict within the Elven Figure. The lance and Shillelagh attacks put the elf back at death's door (Elven Figure - CMD: 126).
(@All: poke had mentioned he would not be able to post today, so per our 24-hour rule (in combat), Karwin will be autopiloted for this turn.)
Seeing that his friends are not giving the mysterious elf a break, Lot approaches the enemy touching her shoulder and says "I hope this does away with whatever demons harm your thoughts..."
-> Shocking Grasp (melee spell attack) vs. Elven Figure: Attack: 13Damage: 9 lightning. His caring message is, however, enough of a warning for the elf to slap away the sorcerer's hand, and the spell is delivered harmlessly into the empty space next to the Elven Figure.
Karwin (autopilot) turns her sword sideways and says "Enough of this" (action and hasted action):
-> Longsword (one-handed melee weapon attack) vs. Elven Figure: Attack: 12Damage: 10 non-lethal bludgeoning. The first was a warning swing.
-> Longsword (one-handed melee weapon attack) vs. Elven Figure: Attack: 27 Damage: 12 non-lethal bludgeoning. Seeing no reaction from the elf, the samurai strikes with purpose the second time around (Elven Figure - CMD: 138->DEFEATED).
The elf is now unconscious on the ground. She will wake up naturally in 3 hours.
Dredge drops the lance, runs forward, and kicks away the elf’s sword (while keeping track of where it goes). Seeing the the elf is truly unconscious, he takes his hempen rope and ties her hands to her feet before adding a gag. “Can never be too sure with these types, eh? Not what say you to taking a quick rest to recover before we interrogate this woman for all she’s worth?” Assuming that the affirmative for a rest is given, Dredge grabs the sword and the elf (none to gently), taking them both to the room with the daylight. Over the rest, Dredge studies the sword that managed to do so much damage to his earthen body.

(@All: During the upcoming short rest, I'll assume you guys spend some time looking over the magical items you picked up along the way. For this, I'll have to assume a few decision for your characters. Let me know if you are unhappy with them and if so, we can edit them out.)
Dredge ties up and gags the elf, and then plans to go to the grassy room to study her blade and rest a bit. As he removes the sword from her hands, he notices that she wears a peculiar ring with the design of what looks like a labyrinth. Dredge does not remember seeing the ring before, as if it only recently appeared in her finger. A few minutes of focus within the grassy room are all that are needed for the barbarian to come to the conclusion that the blade is nothing more than an well-made elven longsword, and that the extra mental damage it dealt most likely came from the elf's innate powers. Dredge then moves on to study the strange-looking ring instead. About one hour later, the druid concludes it to be a Ring of Mind Shielding. Also, by now, Dredge would have figured out that the liquid in the glass jar in his pockets from even before fighting the Balhannoth is a serving of Oil of Slipperiness.
Nox settles in to recover from the fight and to call forth his Owl familiar.
Lot will mention "A short period of respite is fine for now while the Elf is unconscious, but we have been awake for quite some time now. I could use a longer rest to recover my arcane abilities." Nonetheless, the sorcerer will set for a short rest for now, and use his time to study the pearl he had gotten earlier. He finds out it is a Pearl of Power. Lot's hit dice:
Hit die 1: 5 Hit die 2: 5 Hit die 3: 9 Hit die 4: 7 Hit die 5: 9 Song of Rest die: 4
Karwin (autopilot) will sit down in the grassy room and take a look at her shield, eventually concluding it is a Sentinel Shield (@poke: I'll leave the decision on whether and how many hit dice to roll to you. I figured you'd probably use some of your Second Wind too.)
Dredge looks at the ring with a curious expression, and then slowly slips it on to his right ring finger (**Im aware it still needs attunement to work, just want to try something**). He waits for a few minutes, curious to see if the voice the elf heard makes itself present.
(@Lerus Tell me if this is valid, but while waiting for the elf to wake up, I would also like to attune to the ring, since three hours constitutes as multiple short rests in a row). One to study the ring, one for the oil, and one to attune)
(@Lerus Tell me if this is valid, but while waiting for the elf to wake up, I would also like to attune to the ring, since three hours constitutes as multiple short rests in a row). One to study the ring, one for the oil, and one to attune)
(@Hydra: Yes, I am fine with this.)
After putting on the ring, Dredge feels no different. It isn't until the third hour of his rest that he begins to comprehend what the ring really does. The elf begins to move around, showing that she will be awake soon. It is just at this point that Dredge finally hears a voice in his head.
"Ah... this must mean she is finally dead... that treacherous, infantile waste of my teachings. Who carries me now?"
Dredge tries to telepathically communicate back to the soul in the ring. “It doesn’t matter who I am, it more matters who you are, eh? So tell me...” He sees the elf beginning to stir in the corner. “Never mind, I’ll deal with you in a minute. For now, stay silent.” For good measure, he removes the ring and tucks it away in a pocket before moving over the body and grabbing the elf’s head in his gauntleted hands. As soon as she fully wakes, he says out loud “You’ll answer our questions truthfully and promptly. Otherwise, I’ll crush your skull. You forfeited the right to a peaceful compromise when you refused to cooperate.”
(@All: you can all assume you have attuned to whatever item you need to since 3 hours have passed.)
As Nox, Lot, and Karwin watch, Dredge removes his new trinket from his finger and approaches the waking Elf. She looks groggy and confused. Dredge deduces she only half-heard the threat.
After the rest Nox tell his companion "shake me if there an emergency i am going to scout, or if we about to move" and send his Owl through the right door exploring. Nox can see and hear trough the Owl sense but in return that character Nox deafened and blinded so he unaware what the party doing.
The Elf seems to be having a difficult time in regaining her wits and Dredge's threat passes unnoticed. She mumbles "Trial... party... how long?... trial... win..."
Meanwhile, Nox explores through the eyes and ears of his owl familiar. On the other side of the northeastern door, he recognizes the hallway into which he was teleported during the fight against the Balhannoth. Continuing his exploration, the owl then finds a small nook, containing a type of Teleportation Circle, like the one that originally transported the party between the first and second trials. Sitting on the center of the concentric circles, a potion bottle bubbles calmly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: She was gagged earlier? I was more looking for a nod of affirmation but if initiating conversation means that the gag comes off, we better do this quickly)
Dredge waits a few seconds for the woman to be of a more sound mind before beginning to press his hands a bit closer together. “Did you hear me? If you don’t answer our questions, then your trial ends in failure. Now, do you know what or who is in that fancy ring of yours?”
“Rael? Who was this Rael? A companion of yours?” Dredge lets up the pressure, seeing as the elf is cooperating. “Do you know of a way to move his soul on peacefully?”
She slowly recovers: "Yes... We fought together... In these trials... He fell and his soul was trapped into his ring... Said it was his protection against being reincarnated as a beast..." She looks at Nox, subtly confirming her companions worries, though the Tabaxi is still focused on his owl's senses.
Nox temporaly dismiss the Owl and make it appear again to his shoulder, he exiting the famialiar senses and regainig his own. "There nothing else here beside a circle that looked very similar as the previous dungeon. There also a potion in the middle of it does potion supposed to bubble?". Looking at the elf being contious "how the interrogation going?"
Karwin places the gag back into the elf's mouth. "Whatever she tells us, I cannot trust. Using Charm spells against us when we were ready to talk already is unnecessary."

Dredge looks over to Nox briefly. “She is cooperating. Let me finish this line of questioning, then if you have questions, you may ask.” Dredge turns back to the elf, removing the gag. “Karwin... she speaks the truth, there is something in the ring. I would rather hear two accounts before this thing lies about if it can possess me or not. This Rael... does he assert any control when you wear the ring? You seemed as if you where not in control of yourself in our earlier struggle. Was it the ring?”
(OOC: You do raise a good point though... might as well make a check)
