Devin looks at the mouth that appears in the door. Interesting, he thinks to himself.
"Greetings, I am Devin of Waterdeep and the Lord Protector Darathara Shendrel advises that the mage Hyuth Kolstaag lives here. We seek an audience with this mage. We seek information that only one of his great skill and abilty can help us with. On behalf of the Lady of the Weave, Mystra, whom I serve I request an audience with Hyuth Kolstaag."
D.O.R.K is positively enraptured by the mouth, and moves forward to start poking at it its lips using fingers. "Additional Query: Are you like me, or animated by some other magical construction?" She asks, much to Beedo's amusement and Vark's bemusement as they stood on guard just behind the group. Eventually the latter breaks formation to lower her arm if no one else beats her to the punch. "Boss Lady? Don't fink poke'n a door mouf is gonna do any favors." The construct eyes go from dull yellows to pink as she nods numbly before stepping back into position.

Lukian remains just off the portico to nonchalantly keep an eye on the winged creatures and to watch the backs of the party, whispering a prayer to the Morninglord for keen senses.
At the Mage's House - Day 5, Third Ten-day, Month of Eleasis
The door opens and as Devin steps through he finds himself in a large entrance hall. A set of steps sweep up to what is obviously an upper storey, The walls are adorned with pictures of battles in which some sort of magic user always seems to be saving the day or is in negotiations with/advising devils, demons, primordial beings, celestials, etc.
Standing in centre of the hall is a human of moderate height with jet black hair and fair skin, who looks remarkably like the magic use in the various paintings and dressed in the height of Waterdhavian fashion. In a sneering tone he says "a visit from a servant of the Lady of the Weave, how privileged am I? What do you want?
Devin bows slightly to the man. "Ah, Hyuth, a pleasure to meet you. We need your help in a matter of great importance. Myself and my companions are investigating the breaking of the Giant Ordning. The giants now seek a new social order. To strengthen their positions they are hunting artifacts that they lost during the great war with the dragons that occurred millenia ago. We have received information that and event will occur here in Triboar very soon. Would you know of anything here in Triboar that would draw giants to this village?"
If it looks like the door will remain open, and the group is not moving further into the house then the entrance, Lukian will keep his place off the portico. If the door needs to close, or the group appears to be going deeper into the house, he will follow into the house.

"Can't say I have a problem with individuals, or races for that matter, trying to improve their lot in life and or standing so full marks to the Giants for being proactive! As to anything that would draw Giants to this town" (DM Secret Roll - 3) "if I was to be aware of anything, what would that information be worth to you and your colleagues - hmm?"

Devin considers. "I have 7 pinches of pixie dust we took from some servants of Yan-see-bin a few days ago. Would such a thing be of interest to you?"
"How about five (5) pinches of pixie dust and at some time in the future if an agent of mine were to come to you to ask you a favour, you would grant it? Don't worry my agent wont ask anything of you that could get you into trouble with you superiors or would be outside your power to grant! Do we have a deal?" Hyuth replies.

D.O.R.K hesitates in entering the premises after Devin. If the door doesn't close on them before hand, Vark, sensing the issue, says something in goblin to Beedo mid-casual stride inside. "Wat? O'... Mn. Say Boss Lady. We'll just keep an eye on fings from out 'ere. Ain't it so, 'ark?" Vark nods enthusiastically. Together the too snap into a formal salute and turn away to watch the path leading up the door, and for any further signs of Gargoyle torment. D.O.R.K nods, and dutifully follows after Devin.
Devin looks around at the others,
"What do you think? Deal?"
D.O.R.K, who had up until then pretended to act more like some sort of custom shield guardian of some sort, looks from Devin to Hyuth, and stares at the latter at length. "Provided this favor does not prove a hinderance to our mission, it is acceptable. A rough estimate regarding the time frame it may take to complete this "favor" would be appreciated. For while you do not have any qualms with the ambitions of giants, things /will/ escalate beyond what has previously done so far, if not dealt with as swift as possible."

(OOC: As neither Lukian or Meiva have a view it looks like we have a deal)
"Good, good! It would seem we have a deal but as to the time it may take for the favour to be called upon, well that is as they say in the hands of the Gods." He then goes to the sidetable and pulls out a large tome and calls Devin over. As Devin approaches he can see that the title of the tome is 'Deals Done'.
Hyuth picks up a quill and dips it in the ink and then on a clean page writes 'In exchange for information about possible giant activity in the vicinity of Triboar, I Devin of Waterdeep, agree to exchange five (5) pinches of pixie dust and to provide a favour, that is within my power to grant, to an agent of Hyuth at an as yet unspecified date.'
Once Devin signs the deed, Hyuth says "not long after I got here about five years ago I scanned the area for magic. The only emananation of significance that I could find large enough to possibly be of interest to Giant was a weak sort of signal from somewhere in the north campground." (H6)

"Well, lets certainly hope that the information you have provided is worth the deal we have signed."
Devin heads out and heads for the area that Hyuth indicated.
When gets there he sets himself in the center of the area and then casts Detect Magic as a ritual and then begins to walk around the area in a grid pattern trying to detect anything magical in the area.

D.O.R.K still looks leery about the contract, in so much she could show it. Yet, she says nothing more on the subject, prefering to move on just as eagerly as Devin. Though her departure is marked by a one last lengthy and perhaps even unnerving stare.
"I am starting to piece together why the Lord Protector called that one a 'piece of work'. I believe it is a metaphor of some kind."She says once they are well away from the manor. A cheeky grin spreads on Beedo's face, but he says nothing. Once they do reach the northern campgrounds(assuming their given directions as well!), her goblins do their particular spread and secure the perimeter as she focuses on physically looking around for anything of interest.
(OOC: Apologies up front for quality of post but working from I-pad so no fancy stuff)
At the Campground
The party heads away from the Mage’s mansion back to the Northern campground (that’s the one on the eastern side of the road) where Devin casts the ritual.
Assuming he starts in the middle of the campground and works out then not long after casting the ritual he discovers an emanation from the centre of the campground that appears to be under the ground.
The emanations appears to be of the school of Transmutation.
Devin looks down at the ground and then up a the others. "Anyone have a shovel?" If no one does, he asks another question. "Anyone see a general store where we can buy some shovels?"
If no one has a shovel but they have seen a store he'll head over and buy a couple and return to start digging, handing the second shovel to anyone who wants to help.
The moment Devin asks, "Anyone have a shovel?", both Vark and D.O.R.K pull out their own. Beedo, on the other hand, looks on enviously for a moment, and then raises his new bear claw mits excitedly. "We can at least start on the excavation if you wish to head back into town to acquire additional shoves." She offers, and is quick to set to work with her goblins. Though Beedo is less enthusiastic as the time goes on. Determined, but still...
