"Pardon my language but... I am getting to old for this shit." She would say shaking her head with a small smile. after letting out a long sigh, She would shout behind her to a young chef washing dishes in the the kitchen "Go ahead and lock the place up... looks like mommas got some work to do.." A moment later she would pull a short bow amd Morningstar out from behind the bar and place then on the counter. "Well.. I suppose I best be getting to the keep. You kids need anything to eat before we close up shop?" she would ask in her motherly tone.
"Perhaps. But you are of adequate age and physique to contribute."D.O.R.K said encouragingly during the sigh. "Kid... ah. That was meant as a euphemism. I see. Ah ha ha ha ha ha."She slaps her stomach, and then gives a thumbs up. "I do not require sustenance. And as there are still more to reach out to, we should be going now... I do hope my brother was able to convince his intended target to join in the fight."Once the group is on the move again to a meeting point(Lord Protector's building?), D.O.R.K will almost eagerly launch into inquires about the woman's experience in fighting if she decide to walk with the group.

"Thank you child!" She would stay before disappearing upstairs for a moment before returning wearing an old but well kept set of leather armor and her weapons on her back and hip. The woman would then give Devin a hard and playful slap on the shoulder. "Well let's get goin, I ain't getting any younger!"
(OOC: When did that happen? I must have missed that. I knew I was playing Narth and Urgala.. let me see what I can find out about this dwarf. I looked back at our PM's and didn't see anything about that. Sorry buddy! I didn't mean to slow things down.)
"Oy! When can I do for ye!?" The dwarf would say sticking one of his thick sut-covered fingers into his ear as he makes his way towards Torunn. "Sorry bout that, me hearing isn't what it used to be? The ringing of the anvil has taken its toll on me" He says with a wide smile before laying his blacksmiths hammer down on a thick wooden table nearby. "What Can I do for ya? Need a weapon friend? I make the best weapons for crushing orc and giant skulls in all of Triboar!"
Torunn heads over to the dwarf. "No friend, I am fine for weapons." Torunn pats the musket slung over his shoulder as he says this. "I am actually here to ask for your help. Some fire giants are leading some soldiers to Triboar, and we believe an attack is imminent. I was told you to come and get your help for the fight."
"WHAT!? Are you sure lad?" The stout muscular dwarf would say as he slams his clenched fist against the table, causing his hammer to jump. "Well Ghelryn Foehammer never backs down from a fight.. but a fight against Giants! Well It is the duty of every dwarf to cave in those bastards skulls!" He would say spitting on the ground. The yellow bearded dwarf would spin around and grab a breast plate and battle axe from the wall. "When is the attack? Where do you need me? Clan Foehammer never backs down from a fight!"
Darathara smiles and welcomes those who have gathered to help defend the village.
"I've sent scouts to see what they might. Can't be too hard to see giants approaching. Hopefully they will return soon, if they weren't killed."
Devin speaks up.
"We came from the south and Lukian said he saw the giants headed towards the village from the west. We need to find defensive positions. But if their target is the field and the artifact they will strike for that spot quickly I think. Perhaps the orcs are a distraction to draw the towns defenses away."
Devin looks to D
"Your training is in fighting and battles. What do you recommend? "
"Your analysis has thus far been correct. While Beedo and Vark have begun constructing counter measures for the giants at the site, at best they will only slow the giants down. My recommendation will be to evacuate the immediate area to avoid crossfire, or bombardment should they bring such weaponry to bear." D.O.R.K said as she started to slowly pace and look around the area.
"With the exception of a... Scouting unit of Orcs to clear the way, the rest will be sent ahead of time to harass the populace living in the more residential area, drawing defenders there. If more mounts can be spared, we will want them on standby to hasten movement of defenders throughout the village. We have Mr. G, but a few more would preferred to be effective. Master Ghelryn should remain closer to the inner parts of town until this crisis is taken care of."She pauses both in speech and movement to let the words sink in, then glances towards the sun.
After taking a moment to remember if fire giants had visionary problems at night she adds, "We have faced Orcs before. Even under the heel or mutual alliance of giants, keeping them martial together for too long will be difficult. The attack will be soon. If not this evening, then tomorrow morning. They will not wholly expect us to be waiting for them."She looks to the gathering once more, hands clasped behind her hips, chin up, and chest out in some parody of a formal posture. "Meiva. Work with the Lord Protector on how best organize the populace. See if you can get them to set up pit traps in the surrounding residential area, and have fire brigade on standby should the Orcs prove particularly malicious. Otherwise, keep them calm. We do not wish to have a panic incited in the middle of this operation."
She looks to Devin. "Ac-... " She looks away for a brief moment, and then turns to Devin with green eyes. "Devin. Your cat will be our eyes in the skies over the town. If they try to go 'round the south somehow and flank us right and proper, we need to know a bit earlier than that other party just sent out. And... If there's time, seek out the wizard again. See if you can entice him to provide further aid in the conflict, even if it is only to send his stone men. Offer... insight into my design, if'n ya need ta sweeten the deal."She said in a more softer and less refined tone before looking to everyone else. "If other mounts can be Martial, we should all stay organized near the Lord Protector's tower, or as close as possible within nearby domiciles ready to move at a moment's notice. If not, I propose the more experienced in combating giants should remain near the Artifact site. And the rest patrol between the more residential areas and center area in groups no less than three. Are there any questions or concerns?"
(@all: Note: Her "plan" for Meiva is mostly so that noone has to worry about playing her character on top of everything else. But if the DM has other plans for her, than feel free to Veto that. :P)
(@Grant: Beedo and Vark have been thus far working on pitfalls in the field large enough for giants to potentially trip over after being covered. Not sure if you want rolls, location, etc, but just putting this forward to clarify what they are doing while all this is happening.)
[OOC: A couple of quick points: 1) when Lukian saw the Giants they were to the west of Triboar, 2) People should also post what they are doing to give effect to D.O.R.K.'s suggestions, 3) Where exactly are the pits, etc.?]

(( OK, I figured since we were coming from the south that's where we saw them. I'll edit. ))
"I'll see what Aslan can do, but while I'm sure he understands me, I can't understand him." Devin replies.
The Tressym, always snuggled on Devin's pack, perks up at hearing his name. "Aslan, fly west and see if the really tall giants are coming this way. Fly back to the center of town if you see them. Don't come back unless you see them." The cat stretches and yawns for a moment before launching into the air and flying west.
"I guess if we see Aslan return we'll know they are close."
Devin turns to leave "I can go revisit Hyuth Kolstaag also, perhaps he will help, perhaps not. I will see." Devin then heads back to see the mage.
When Torunn returns, he heads over to D.O.R.K, "Oi Red, I am going to find a high spot that will allow me to oversee and get the best use out of my musket. Where do you recconmend?"
"Yes, for the moment I will stay near the keep. If any of the horseman return they will look for me here. There are hedges around the field where you say the artifact is found. Perhaps the 2 entrances will make it easier to defend the area."
Answering in order of presentation, D.O.R.K can only bow in thanks to Devin. "A more close at hand warning system is better than nothing... You have my thanks.. Devin."She says halting. Turning almost too eagerly to answer Torunn's request, D.O.R.K looks towards the surrounding buildings before shaking her head. "I would recommend the tower. However, as I have yet to see the full extent of either it, or your weaponry, I can only recommend two locations with any guarantee of success. I will also instruct Vrak, since he will be in charge of Mr. G, to come 'pick you up' as necessary... Though you may wish to seek out the owner of said buildings ahead of time, just in case." If a construct could smile teasingly, Torunn would certainly get the feeling in that moment.
Moving back to Darathara, she nods and says, "So I imagine. As another deterrent, if some scarecrows can be moved and at least look the part of the local militia, it will be to your advantage. I leave it to you and Meiva to possible direct your more creative citizen to the task. The rest should stay on pit duty. If I can borrow a map, I can more clearly illustrate things as necessary." With that, she goes into further detail on at least possible locations for the trap locations. While not exactly an expert in gorrila warfare(or at least, not willing to claim it), she offers some supplemental information to at least make the pits harder to deal with for the Orcs.
(@All: I did a thing with picture edit. Not exactly clean work, but hope it helps illustrate the plan. Putting it in the discord sooon~)

Devin feels that he must treat this woman with deferential, she seems wise and motherly.
"No ma'am, we have eaten. We will accompany you back to the keep as you were the last person we were sent to find."
**Meanwhile**
Darathra has sent scouts on horseback to see where the orcs are at and report back anything that they see.
As Torunn approaches the forge, he sees a dwarf hammering away at something on the Anvil.
"Ho there," Torunn says to try and get the dwarves attention.
"Thank you child!" She would stay before disappearing upstairs for a moment before returning wearing an old but well kept set of leather armor and her weapons on her back and hip. Torunn grins, "Easy done then! Follow me." He says as he leads the way back to the town center
The dwarf would grab a few additional pieces of equipment and follow behind Torunn and eventually listen to the warforgeds speach.
